Thread: Insufficient Disk Space... URGENT! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have had nasty crashes when rendering anything larger than the screen size. For instance using "render to new window". Amazingly, I have been able to do larger renders by increasing my screen resolution to its maximum. Perhaps Windows allocates a lump of memory depending on the screen resolution?? Another "Ain't Poser wierd" fact, although I don't know how much this helps you!
Thread: problem with editing terrains.... RRRRRRRRRRRR!!! | Forum: Bryce
I've seen this mentioned in this forum before... ...It might be a B5 bug. Sorry to impart bad tidings!
Thread: Moving objects in space. | Forum: Bryce
errr... if you want to actually move them to another position then go to top view and er... just move them! (select them with the mouse and move either with the mouse or the translation arrows in the EDIT menu.) or... ...If you need to select an object which is behind another object, hold down ctrl and click on them. This brings up a little list where you can select any objects under your current mouse position. Hope this helps! :)
Thread: Take me on a MOONLIGHT RIDE! | Forum: Bryce
You can position your moon more directly as follows... (I'm not at a Brycey machine, so I hope this is right!) 1. Hold down shift+ctrl+alt and DoubleClick the "sun position" ball in the sky/fog menu at the top of the screen. 2. Hold down shift+ctrl+alt and click where you want the moon to be ON YOUR SCENE! 3. That's it...there it is! PS. I really hope this is right... I can never remember the correct combinations of shift, ctrl and alt... I think shift+ctrl will position the sun and shift+ctrl+alt does the moon. Please experiment! There is a tut for this out there somewhere...
Thread: A few questions about image size and printing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"How much scaling of the image can be done before you lose significant detail in the image?"... You can't lose any detail if you re-size upwards... In fact, if you use a decent app like Photoshop or PSP, resizing upwards smoothes out visible pixelations nicely. It's a matter of personal taste, but I often use resizing for this reason alone (Improves the perceived quality of printed images in my opinion!. This approach is also handy for texture maps... but I haven't experimented to find out what is the largest texture map usable by Poser. Give it a try and see if you like the results.
Thread: Error in Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
Yeah... Bryce does leave backups in that folder. Also, try changing the preferences settings before you try to open the [broken] file. This feature often causes my machine to crash on scene loading in B4. Set it back to the factory defaults.
Thread: RCook, "Bandwidth Theft Alert" ????????? | Forum: Bryce

Thread: Boolean Q | Forum: Bryce
Um... You can't change the geometry of an object within Bryce, but you could make a cone and chop off the point with a cube using booleans... there are many tutorials on boolean operations in Bryce. But better still, why not draw the shape in photoshop or PSP and make a light-house terrain! That's far more cool...
