Excuse the pun, but, Screw the Vagina.... what is going on with the Balloon Boobs and Collagen Nipples? I guess the "artist" is keeping with the theme of the pricing structure and Username by making the characters appear possessed! But then again, they did sell a few, since there are comments!

I always found Thornes faeries quite tasteful. No latex or anything. Just like you would expect fearies to look. I don't always like the snide way some people refer to Thorne and Renderotica. They are often disrespected in subtle ways not so subtle.

What I find amazing is the people that feel this way even know these sites and what they contain from a personal standpoint!

Just an Added Note: DAZ has said time and time again, that D|S Base Program will always be free. Even though it is currently Beta, they do not plan on charging for the Base Program, which includes the current features and maybe some more!

Unlike Copyright, you must go through the process of Paperwork for Trademark Protection. So, if you have received Trademark Protection for Puck as a 3D Mesh Figure, then you have recourse, if not, you have none.

Trademark rules are different than what most people understand and the use of even a part of a Trademark name in a competive business (or part of the competive business name contain the Trademarked Name, such as PoserStore), falls under the theory that it might cause consumer confusion is protected under Trademark. Vicotoria's Secret has successfully blocked company's that sell women's garments from using the word Secret in their name. This whole crack down on use of Trademarked names in Domains and in Promotional material stems from some companies loss of Trademark Protection in this manner due to lack of enforcement. The case that recently (last year) involved an Electronics Company that tried to stop sites that were selling add on products from using the Trademarked name. The company lost and now companies like Canon, Epson, etc.. are cracking down on these types of sites when they find them. It is important to them, now that the supply side is their money maker.

Okay, I have not piped in on these discussions (and I use that term loosely!) I have an AMD 2800 with 1GB of RAM and a nVidia GeForce 6200 with 256MB. I am running WinXP with AVG and Wins own Firewall. I just finished a 10 second animation with 8 figures, several of them Mil3 figures. The lighting was simple, due to the nature of the animation, but I had no trouble whatsoever with Memory issues, any crashes, saves, etc... This is not a powerhouse machine, but it is set up for Graphics work only, and no games. I run Works Calendar, IE, Outlook Express, Bookshelf(I can not spell well!), Bryce, Shade, FastCAD, PSP, and Poser along with several other programs at the same time. So far I have not crashed a single program (out of all of these, the most unstable is the stupid Calender and its reminders!). When I had issues in the past similar to what many are describing with other programs, I finally traced it to the latest game and something it had installed on my system to make the game work with my soundcard and video card. I did a complete uninstall of the game and issue went away. Since then I stopped playing games on my machine that I use for work. I do not know if this may be the cause, but I mention it, because some people were having an issue with Norton (I think) at one time.

PSP Animation Shop (jasc software) will also convert a series of tiffs as well as other formats to various formats including avi.

Not to imply that this is the situation, but I once bought a Program in the box from a "Dealer" only to discover when I went to upgrade the product a couple of years later that the product I had was good, but owned by a corporation. Apparently the "Dealer" was selling the delivered box sets that a Corporation use to receive when they bought numerous licenses, but only installed one and then the Systems people used that install to place it on the rest of the machines. This is still done, and is the reason I no longer buy from small vendors. Many Computer Shows are filled with these types of deals, as is E-Bay with users selling off their old copies after they upgrade. You can use the supplied Serial Number to activate the software to use it, but when you go to upgrade, it comes back as an "Invalid" for purposes of Upgrades because the original owner had already upgraded the software using that Serial Number. I had a friend who just discovered his 1/2 price deal on Quick Books was no deal for this same reason.

There is no such thing, and Chrysler nearly got in trouble over it, until they Trademarked the name as a Marketing catch phrase. There is a show that talks about the 50 best Auto Commercials and that one is in the top 10.

I agree. Saying no to replies in Profile or in the Forum has no affect on the Box in each thread. The box is always checked. Makes me stay away from the Forums here most of the time.(Also, the fact that instead of scrolling through Headings of each thread, the pages contain all the posts as well for all the threads. If they got rid of that, they could fit 100 threads to a page. Also, once you forget, there is no way to stop watching a thread. RO is one of the oldest Artist Communities on the web and the Forums here prove it! ( Makes sure I remember to uncheck the box, even though I am not suppose to get replies. )

Well, I hit the hay about a half hour after posting here so I missed all the helpful responses. (Actually I shut down my Email program and did not restart it until this afternoon.) In the future it would be nice if the rules were left up until a contest closed, even with these informal contests. With the rules gone and people posting images of WW, it was easy to think it was all over. My son did when he went looking for the information on how to Post the image, and so did I when I could not find it anywhere either.

Well, I thought that too, but when I checked at 6:00 AM Hawaii Time on the 2nd everything was gone already. I really do not care too much for myself, but my son wanted WW and he was the one that found the offer originally and asked me if he could download and enter. He finished his picture and went to Upload it and the link was already gone. Me thinks that Yamato or Billy-T do not know what time it was in Hawaii when they removed the links. I would have thought the whole thing was a joke to get people to flood the Gallery here with really weird images, if others had not thanked them for the WW figure. The deleting of the posts was wrong. They should have left them if the rules were clear, and just added a note that the contest is over.

I thought it was the end of the day the 2nd, but the message and the link with the rules have been deleted. Well, I am going to post mine and my son did one too so he could get WW. Does anyone know if there is a link to the rules anywhere still?
