Thread: Having HUGE Storage Problems? Ever Try This?... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, the one other option I'm looking into is a network harddrive. 50-90 Gig drives are getting pretty cheap and if you have a 4-port type firewall-LAN box they can hook up pretty nicely that way- and more drives added as needed... Only problem is- you STILL haven't BACKED UP everything. The other backup option is streaming tape. It's too slow for access, but it can backup huge amounts of stuff. But then, you might as well get the DVD-RAM system once you factor in the total costs/speed issue...

Yes, I have hundreds of 650 MB CD's, and price isn't that big of an issue with me, getting access to large storage is. The articles I've read about DVD-RAM by professional users is pretty good, and they aren't talking about Creative Labs stuff, its the stuff made by the REAL manufacturers- Hitachi, etc...

Thread: Anyone thinking of using models in Vue d'Esprit | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I believe their intention is to determine, when necessary, that a VUE scene was actually done in VUE without post-production, before they make it an offical "Picture of the Day". Otherwise, someone else will come along whinning that it was done in MAX, Lightwave or other Photoshop effects. Asking for the scene files, IF DEEMED NECESSARY AS PROOF, just makes sure they are displaying "pure Vue" renders... MANY people still cannot accept that VUE is as GREAT as it is and are looking for ways to attack the company, especially now that VUE 4 is coming out with more great new features that will make more expensive software look like a rip-off... Vue d'Esprit is a very small company, but they produce an unbelieveably excellent program for the price you pay, and VUE artwork regularly wins top awards in contests- coming from a fairly small VUE user base. The constant problem is non-VUE users "can't believe" its REALLY VUE...

Yes Polartech- I hope DAZ IS listening. If DAZ wants a really hot selling Mike MK II, make him into a TRUE CHARACTER model. Most people buy Vicky because of her NUDE BOD. That's 99.9% of Vicky's market- Hi-Rez Nudity... Otherwise, check out rjghise's P4 Girls, they have tons of good looks over Vicky. Too bad Vicky can't look like that... So Mike MK-II needs to be more than just a "hunk" dufus, to make him REALLY SELL, allow modelers to turn him into a Wide Variety of Faces. I've seen this being done with P4 Dork already, so why not make the MK-II have a Leo DeCaprio, Bob Hoskins, etc set of face morphs so that he will be EVERYONE's favorite character (within reason of course, but with the P4 stuff I've seen, I'm SURE that DAZ could do this...)

You can get it here, plus LOTS of other great clothes and a fantastic suit of armor... I "think" the British term was "Jerry". One of the very successful items the Allies copied from the Germans was the "Jerry Can", which was a highly useful gas can design... I also have some RAF posters I can post if you like, including the classic one with the Winston Churchill quote "Never Have So Many, Owed So Few..."Thread: Light war char - model 2001BC | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Now that I've caught my breath- one small item- the main axel rod - spoke component system needs a bit of chariot re-engineering...
