I was 90% sure that this was a satirical series, but the 10% doubt was enough to make me post a couple of 'fishing' responses. Of course, what I think isn't important, but I'm kind of relieved that you don't sympathise with the 'Sea Patrol'. Maybe the seed of doubt was planted by a picture I have somewhere of a certain A. Appleyard at the A.A.C. dressed in not entirely disimilar attire to the 'blue mans' in these images. (offstage sounds of blackmail plot hatching, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh...) Some of the smoothing operations in 3DStudioMax take a long time too, so Bryce isn't all alone in this respect. Actually, I'm not sure it takes any longer to smooth at 80deg than it does at 20. I've never timed it though. Like you, I'm usually off reading War and Peace or something.

As one of the 'dive in' members, I can only hope that the fascist git has just shoved a pressure tank into the flames. Scratch one pig-mobile. ;-)

Nice image! Posting the finished article in the character art section of SciFi-Art will get you some more 'oohs and aahs' of appreciation, I'm sure. :-)

I stopped using the internet completely about six months ago, and very rarely switch on my PC. It's the only way to be really safe.

Looking forward to your series on the anti apple scrumping patrol (presumably that's where the pump action shotgun will be used). "Damn pesky kids. WE do all the fruit harvesting round here. #s 31 and 38, load those bodies onto the truck and take them for hanging up on the city gates. That'll discourage the other brats. But make sure you wash the blood onto the base of the trees first - makes good fertiliser."

Great stuff! The figure is proving very adaptable in the hands of skilled users such as yourelf. I'm sure Zygote would like that in their Victoria gallery.

Yes Storm, that's why I said: "Unfortunately, you can't provide free downloads and protect your copyright (beyond that protection established in law)... Your rights are already established in law. You can use a complex download system that encourages people to read the copyright clause if you like, but the protection offered to you by the law remains the same. And so do the limitations of that protection. A scumbag can read your copyright clause and still go ahead and abuse it. Scumbags don't care. Zygote are in the same position with their stuff. As with them, your best protection against abuse of your public access offerings is for as many people to be aware of them as possible. The 'community' is your friend in this respect. Punishing them and coming across as a sulking primadonna doesn't strike me as the best way to nurture a friendship...

Storm: if you do something I support. I'll support you. If you do something silly, I'll say so. Believe me, I do appreciate you fine people making stuff available for free, and I support you in your desire to protect the copyright of your creations. Unfortunately, you can't provide free downloads and protect your copyright (beyond that protection established in law) at the same time. One or the other, but not both.

The issue of theft will never be settled. If it bothers you this much, you'd be best keeping your stuff to yourself for good. Why wait until Propsguild closes? Is nobody going to steal from you in the meantime? How utterly bizarre. Is this online community governed by the herd instinct? One person is caught stealing, and the rest of the world whips itself into a frenzy of self destruction.
Thread: The Propsguild Site will close, to keep contributor members work safe. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is pathetic. As far as I'm able to ascertain from examining the site, the Propsguild's main purpose is to enable the open distribution of 'free (for non commercial use?)' items which its 'members' wish to make available for public consumption. If that function is to be removed every time someone is caught abusing the facility, it can hardly be described as serving its members interests. I hate to break it to you guys, but there a quite a few scumbags out there, most of whom you'll never find out about. It strikes me that a better response would be to write to 'members' individually, asking if they want their stuff removed, rather than this melodramatic public posturing. Given that most people are aware of the risks involved in making their stuff available on the net, I doubt that many 'members' would seek such a solution. If this part of the Poser online scene is built on such shakey foundations, then maybe it's best that it says 'adios' and makes way for a site made of stronger stuff. One thing we can all be sure of. El Scumbagos across in Spain couldn't give the remotest rat's ass if Propsguild shuts up shop...

I'm with Keith on this one. Complete overeaction. Completely wrong reaction. Target the asshole stealing the work, not everyone else who you were making it available for in the first place.
