There are quite a few coming out for the holiday season. I'd wait for a few months.

I saw a 3d scanner printer coming out for $1500 that had a one touch scan n print button. Yep, it has two built in cameras, and can not only print 3d objects, BUT it can scan a real life object and print a replica.

How large a print is also going to change your decision.. some 3d printers can only print 4"x4".

There are print services popping up all over as well.. that might be a more practical option right now. You can even lease the machines instead of buying them outright. Lets face it, the technology is advancing VERY fast, and what we see in 6 months could make whats out now obsolete.

I also think its rather rude to dominate a new release thread with your personal developement preferences, especially just to boost the porn potential of a figure.

If you like it that way, make and release your own figure, but stop bitching about it.

IMHO all ethnic morphs are just starting points for any character, ethnic or not. Thats why we have so many additonal shaping morphs, and the morph brush.

I know some people use character morphs defacto, but if I'm doing an ethnic character of any kind, I change things up to my own personal vision of them.. not just what someone else labels.

I can't recall ever doing one single character render without spinning a bunch of dials or adding morphs in some fashion to suit my tastes.

I think thats the main purpose OF reload textures.. to refresh textures that have been altered elsewhere.. I recall them adding that feature specifically for that capability.

Just use the poser morph brush for something easy like this. It would take less time then posting a request for it.

I believe it restores the stock customizations to maintain compatiblity with changes in the program. Otherwise you'd have legacy changes that no longer might work with a feature enhancment or fix.. and then you'd still have to do a complete wipe and reinstall.

You could always back up your changes, and then dump them back on top of a new update, but again, that might affect functionality.

When I enter an invalid serial number I think mine quits as well. Thats not a crash though, thats a program exiting and install because of user error with an incorrect serial number.

You have an option to save updates, and have to select install seperately after a download. You could easily just download the update, quit the installer, and then do a manual install of the update if you chose to.

(I asked them about that a month or two ago.)

I believe they are actually looking into it after I requested the feature enhancement.

The problem with it is probably how poser currently handles transparency maps, using gray scale.

I'm not sure how they would do that with a png, or a png with partial transparency.

If I hear anything about it further, I'll pass on what I learn.

The reason they have seperate installs is in case specific content gets an update independant of the program itself.
