Since i am not a big Poser user, I will take your smarmy and pointedly passive aggressive comment with a grain of salt. However, you didn't REALLY have to get so rude. I was just saying I didn't like the way they did that. A dedicated folder for it is much better than scattering it throughout my Runtime. Numerous connections having to be made throughout the applications to different addresses runs up my bandwidth. Its no wonder Malwarbytes tagged it as Ransomware. Next time, try being polite. It goes a lot further.

Been there, done that, too... :)
That tells you how to change from absolute to relative files. It does nothing about removing the creation base texture.
The only work around I could find was to use the DAZ base as the originating layer. Not redistribute it, but leave it in as a map call by building the LIE duf on the Genesis 8 texture so there won't be any errors thrown. I had been building them on my characters until I ran into that ugly little issue. And according to the experts at DAZ, I would have to create a script to remove the LIE. It's actually just easier resetting your particular character face.
So how does using geoshells work?

Hate to be obvious...have you tried running sfc/scannow from an administrator's command prompt? It might be a corrupt system file. I just had to reinstall because Poser 11 Pro would start, toss an error and immediately shut down. But mine seemed to be a program thing. And it's still acting buggy AF. But I can at least load a scene before it fubars, refused to render and closes itself. ?

It's acted weird from the beginning. First thing it did was refuse to open the help pdf. It opened it once. It refused to ever open it again. I had to go dig it out of the installation so I could figure things out. Then my libraries decided not to open until I hit them 10 or 15 times. Then the icon disappeared. Still not sure what happened to that. The link has the default windows icon. Now? It just refuses to open all together. I walked away from Poser shortly after 2014, and have been using DAZ since. This isn't making me want to spend much time in the program...

Yeah, I'm headed for a reload if I can't figure this fustercluck out... I'm getting an error and immediate shut down on trying to load. I've run a battery of scans on Windows and it's NOT the problem. My Poser 11 icon failed the second day.
I am not in the mood to try and learn a moody program that I have to reinstall every other week. ?

It does help!! The forum search kicked back all kinds of answers that I just didn't have time to go through...it was pretty brutal. You should have a central search page where people can go and search the store, the forum and the galleries. Finding the ones you're hiding is a bit annoying. :D
