Wow, now this is the question of the century! I would have to say first and formost was Verdie :) My first picture was a picture of Jesus carrying a man into heaven....I got so few comments on it and felt pretty discouraged. My second picture was a space ship blowing up some stuff....and she gave a great compliment. She always has a good comment and a wonderful outlook. Clay: Awesome artwork!!! Don't need to say much more. Harrison2: The models this guy doe....wow! Darrin Chapman: Again great artwork. These are my favorites.
Thread: Lets start the great argument | Forum: Bryce
Here's my 2 cents. I personnally am an artist in more than 1 medium. I create music on 2 professional synthesizers (which at one time were not considerred to be music instruments and now everyone listens to them whether they know it or not many times.) I also oil, water paint and sketch and am much better at these than I am with Bryce. Many time I mix both models and my own booleans. Thus said, I can say I am qualified to answer here. Everything we do today is born off the backs of others gone before. Great minds before any one of us ever thought of 3d creation and art were laying down the foundation for us. If Egomania or whatever his name is that started this thinks for one moment that anything he is done is original... wake up! There is no new thing under the sun...especially in art. Stop ripping the flowers up and start smelling them. A true artist sees either with his eyes or mind and says "I can create music for the eyes to behold." P.S. the picture above took what...all of ten minutes to create and render. Yet, you have paraded it as art. Which it is. But it is also something that provokes no deeper thought than what it took my eyes to see it. Art makes the soul ponder and wonder. when someone describes your work as POWERFUL...then you can start an arguement. It's like creating a man from nothing and asking God for the dirt....and then telling God..." Hey, God...look what I did." and then God says to you..." OK. now do it without my dirt."

I have a 500mhz AMD k6-2 and my brother has a 200Mhz PII and the difference in working with Bryce is vast. I'm so spoiled with my computer. Sometimes we swap so he can play a video game and within 5 minutes I'm ready to throw his computer out the window! With the mathematics involved with a torus' or circles (pi and all that greek stuff)your computer is making incredible amounts of calculations and has to rewrite all this to ram and the hard drive each time...even with 128Meg. believe it or not your file is probably right at that size so much of the data has to be swapped back and forth to the hard drive and then into RAM. you have to either get a faster CPU or more memory. I'd go with the CPU.

I have an AMD 500mhz system...check the boards manual and see if you don't have to disable or reset a set of jumpers on the motherboard itself. I had that problem when I installed my Vodoo 3...You may be defaulting to the onboard graphics set-up and I don't care what anyone says 3Dnow stinks big time. Hope you figure it out

Hey Gecko; I like the modelling here...wow ! good job with the boolean function! As far as what Ghost said...I think maybe you coulde add a little gey bump to the texture and this would look more spacey, unless you're going for that cruiseship streamline look, I like the texture myself but you could always make 2 :) nice work...real nice! What I'm asking for is how to create my own dte's ...you have 3 windows that combine to form a material in the dte...I'm assuming there is no way to bring in your own images and create your own dte's You have to just randomize everything until you get what you want is the way I've done it up until now and this seems a little to slow and awkward. Maybe I'm missing something...it's been known to happen..hehe.. Hawkfyr...what you're describing sounds more like the regular materials editor which I use extensively with jpg's...I didn't realize the bmp...transparency issue and I do appreciate that tip. that might help me solve some problems I've had with some textures.

Thread: Truespace 3 is available Free.. | Forum: Bryce
Thanks Art; Of course, I'm just starting out with truespace due to getting this free copy. Thanks for letting us know there's something to look forward to in this program. I've heard a lot about it on the web and from a few friends but didn't want to spend the money on another program. I'm just glad this one's free. So many programs...so little time.
