I looked and looked. I never would have found it without coming here. It's a stupid design. The button has my avatar on it, but it's so small I didn't recognize it. Mousing over it tells you nothing.
Thread: Seriously WAAAY OT- | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - At the beach, at home, at a party or in a club, by all means wear anything you like. But if you work for me, there is a dress code for the office. I am not interested in the cut or colour of your underwear, or knowing when you aren't wearing any. This of course applies to males and females alike.
I'm curious if the men who work for you wear skirts, or if the women wear pants? :)
Thread: V4 hand problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh yeah, I remember that. Copy the txt and save it as a hd2 file. It will fix it right up. I forget how exactly this happens, but some hand poses contain translation data that shouldn't be there. This resets both hands on your character.
Try to find the wonky hand poses and resave them after using this.

Thread: Advantages of a .pp2 pointing to an external .obj in Geometries. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wouldn't there be a large memory saving if the obj were used multiple times in a scene? And wouldn't the pz3 file be much smaller? I would think so.
An example would be pillars in a temple, or flowers in a field.
Thread: OT = An apology to the community | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have Menieres disease which is in many ways similar to what you describe. When I have attacks I suffer from vertigo, tinitus, pressure in my left ear, brain fog, hearing sensitivity to loud noises and hearing loss. The medical community doesn't seem to know much about Menieres and doesn't always offer much help. I have spent many hours on the floor with the light out wishing the world would stop spinning. But I have been vertigo free now for about a year.
I'm not a doctor and I shouldn't give medical advice. But I do think that getting your vitamin D level checked would be a good idea. A lot of people with menieres have found that they were low and that getting vitamin D to normal levels helps a lot.
Avoid any diet soda with aspartame in it. (Almost all of them.) Even one can of diet soda will give me a headache, and in my opinion aspartame is a poison.
Here is a link to the meniers forum. http://www.menieres.org/forum/ If you visit the forum I know you will find many people that have very similar stories to yours.
For my self, Poser, computer games, and florescent lights, aggravate my condition. I can only use the computer for brief periods or I get nauseous.
Thread: OT - Shocked, genuinely shocked. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was incredibly excited about the Apollo 11 mission. I think I may have spent more time in front of the TV at that time than at any time since. I followed what was going on from launch to splashdown and spent hours in the backyard looking up and marveling at how bitchen it was that we were up there.
Rest in peace Neal Armstrong my hero.
Thread: still a problem with the lighting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think that it's a very realistic looking scene. But why are the shadows so jaggy on the floor? And what causes the ugly splotchs above the window frames?
For me, it's those issues that reveal it as a Poser render.
I'm just trying to learn here, as I have been away from Poser a very long time and I'm seeing those same issues in my renders.
Thread: UV Map switching script? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I remember Dial-a-Tile from way back then... Now the material room can scale UVs its usefulness has passed, I suppose.
I still use it on floors and walls. One nice advantage is that the tiling shows in preview mode. What you see is what you get with no need for a test render.
The disadvantage is that it's just a flat plane. Though you can use any number of them.
It didn't sell very well and I have no intention of bringing it back.
Edit to say that it was in free stuff for many years though I never recieved a single thank you or comment about it.
Thread: UV Map switching script? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can switch in different obj files with different mapping using a dial. It's called "geometry switching" and it's part of Poser though it's not used much anymore. It could also switch materials and material zones as that is also referenced from the obj file. With a master dial you could also adjust all of the body parts at once. The product that I made and sold here had over a hundred different obj files that could be dialed in. That was a long time ago.
As I recall if the obj files are identical geometry wise, (Same number of vertices) you can still use morphs that affect that body part. I'm not positive about that though, experimentation would be needed.
My old product Dial-A-Tile was in freestuff untill about a year ago when my ISP dropped web space.

I remember those days also. So I went over to YouTube to refresh my memory.

Thread: Texture Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I now agree with some of the others here and think that you need to check the crease angle. That will also give you that faceted look.
LaurieA mentioned scene fixer and that is a great tool.
Thread: Texture Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm just saying that an unwelded mesh looks just like that.
I turn off smoothing occasionaly for other reasons and I don't get those sharp edges where the polygons meet.
Thread: Texture Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To me it looks like it's not a welded mesh. You could try to weld it with the grouping tool and see if that changes anything.
Thread: What does everyone want from Poser from here on in? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - You can parent a light to a prop or figure. Just drag it onto the actor in the hierarchy editor
Well that dosn't seem to work for me?
I'm using Poser Pro 2012.
Thread: What does everyone want from Poser from here on in? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One thing I would like to see changed in future versions is the way lights are handled.
Currently if a Light is selected you can not delete it with the delete key like other objects. Also the delete object button is grayed out if a light is selected. This seems unintuitive to me.
Also you can not parent a light to a prop or anything else. I would like to rotate all of the lights in a scene by rotating a master, or have them follow a figure. That's not the same as "Point At"
Why not have "Light Dots" so you could have a collection of lights right there?
