Yep. I did a cartoon series elsewhere and it was a big surprise how much I had to cut out (and I am a gentle person in the first place). The cartoon result had no "bite" and so people assumed it was for children. So then the rules changed and I had to edit out even more... I am not doing that site any more because I got tired, but I suggest you just take a break, and leave your gallery here for everyone to enjoy. :)

The work panned out. This looks quite usable now and it is an interesting set, full of potential.

I have no interest in works that emphasize children, but I also just don't like those characters. Something about the kids and teens was too smooth and bland (lifeless). But I think you're right: even merely bringing the kids into scenes of daily life is too edgy for some people. Our "Protect the child!" instincts require all kid scenes to be of innocent wonder (max: butterfly) or mischief (max: stealing an extra cookie). Booooooooooring!
Thread: I hate DAZ | Forum: Carrara
:) Yes. Dealing with DAZ is like the old Peanuts cartoons with Charlie Brown and the football. Except sometimes you get what you want! Usually after a work around, but hey, I am not going to spend any more money on 3D until I beef up my general art skills. Good luck with your old west scenes, anything with Stonemason in it is already a notch up from the run-of-the-mill objects. Enjoy.

Yes, the other place has their plans (nothing wrong with that), but they think they have to maintain all this big secrecy and disconnect from the rest of the community. "Corporate think" has them in thrall.

The secret to carrying on with happy renderings is not to look at the other site. Nope, not even a peek. Don't do it. Program your computer to shut down if you type in their web address. ;)
Work your art, not their merchandising.
And no, I cannot get their current stuff to work in C8.

Ooooo-ooooo: The engineer is designing a vehicle to go down onto a gas giant planet where thieves have dropped precious steampunk musical instruments.

A trashpicker genius found this great working interdimensional car that had an autopilot button for its home. Home is empty for eons, but plans/blueprints for wonderful things are still lying out on a table. (just my first thoughts)

What a great illustration. It really draws out imaginary story line possibilities. Congratulations.

DAZ caters to those clients who embrace being told what to do. The rest of us now have fewer resources with which to make our own way. DAZ reminds me of an animaniacs cartoon, where micro**** tells everyone to do weird things (like put a pickle on your head). And they do.
