I did an experimental cloud scene with spheres not too long ago. Just spheres with default cloud materials tweaked slightly. The only thing is to avoid overlapping of spheres as they create some artifacts. Mine had a few but I just postworked them away ;)Message edited on: 04/07/2005 01:41
Thread: OT: The Pope is dead | Forum: Bryce
When I was a child I had the privilige of seeing him at close distance. Very certainly the most historically significant human being I have seen in person. I don't think one has to be Catholic, or even Christian to appreciate this man.

I do understand the purpose of these rules, and I submit to them within the confines of the website eventhough there are parts of it that I don't agree with. Obviously we don't want Renderosity to become a haven for child molesters to turn our art into porn. Therefore it is unfortunate but probably necessary. On the other hand, (having taken a quite few art history classes myself and eventually going for a degree) majority of the best known and most revolutionary artists have painted or sculpted the nude child subject. The subject of the "Christ Child" is almost always nude. Let's not even talk about the Classical Greek/Roman art.
To illustrate I'll site a few:
Lorenzo Ghiberti's Sacrifice of Isaac 1402, Donatello's David 1420, Andrea Mantegna's Camera degli Sposi (The first known illusionistic painting that paved way to the Baroque period), Leonardo da Vinci's Virgin of the Rocks 1485, Michaelangelo... O my gosh The Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Galatea, Titan (too many)... That's just a small portion of the Renaissance, I could go on and on all the way to the 20th century.
The point is that there is a difference between child nudity in art, and child porno. The link is on members' favorite artists... See how many Michaelangelos, Rockwells, and even Giger? had a nude child: mother with child. I guess the question now is: Is this limiting one's artistic vision? Not really, not all of our works have to be posted in Renderosity. Do what you want with your art but only post in Rosity the ones that are allowed. Indeed it's not a democracy but a privately owned community (But there are other 3d communities out there ya know). Unfortunately this may hold back 3D art from making breakthrough developments and a wide scape of art as Madmax said.

I think I'm legit again! I made a few little changes and now I can't find any TOS violations anymore. It's unfortunate but I understand. I would really hate it if any of my works are used as illegal porn.Message edited on: 03/21/2005 21:40
Thread: LordStormDragon Take at look at this Tutorial | Forum: Bryce
LOL, true true I didn't really see the original thread so I don't really know exactly what's goin on. I thought you guys were just thinking personal projects for fun (not something serious or professional). Industry standard quality with Bryce 5 animation is not a realistic aspiration, the rendertimes alone would kill you... but then again Bryce is not exactly industry standard software, Bryce doesn't even do motion blurs; This makes the animations look kinda jittery.
@ JimBobCarl If you want to make an animation for school or personal learing/fun, all I'm saying is you can do some really cool stuff with Bryce. If your'e talking professional portfolio for the film industry, I would strongly suggest a higher end software and forget about Bryce. Bryce is at the bottom of the 3d food chain right now.

Thread: Vue 5 Infinate........Game over!!!!! | Forum: Bryce
You have a point there Quest, I take back my words about the fat lady :) I guess DAZ wouldn't have bought Bryce unless they wanted to make a profit out of it. I just hope they can move a bit faster cuz it's hard to get customers back once they get used to another program. I'm still rooting for Bryce to make a comeback, that's why I haven't tried Vue... I'm afraid I might get used to it.
Thread: Vue 5 Infinate........Game over!!!!! | Forum: Bryce
Is there even a release date on Bryce 5.5? If not, the fat lady might not be singing anymore cuz she's dead, LOL. And if a Bryce 6 will ever be made, DAZ would have spent so much time and manpower on it to catch up with current technology and demands that they would have to jack up the price. It may no longer be affordable to average joes like many of us. :(

Here's another recent one that I thought was just perfect. If you look at Vue Hot 20, there's some great stuff. Earth to DAZ... Is there even a release date for Bryce 5.5? How 'bout 6? Somehow I'm afraid it's gonna cost more than Vue infinite? Hmmm? What if it does... what to do, what to do?This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
