Acadia that isnt too bad ;)
my personal experience is that it makes sense to look for updated drivers for about 6 months. Then the grafic card vendors seem to forget about older grafic cards and all it does is produce problems.
I think i can call myself a gamer (sadly), and my credo is: If something causes problems dont update your drivers even if 99% of the users say: update your driver - instead downgrade them ... and i managed to run games that were called unplayable by 99% of other users with comparable hardware.
I dont want to say that an update CAN help in some cases, but i dont think they still improve a nvidia 5200fx for example ;)
Thread: How to keep a figure in same place when pose button used? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure, but is it really the hip only? isnt there a checkbox called bodytransformation when saving a pose? i thought that would store the translation of the body. if not what does that checkbox.... wrong assumption?
just wanted to throw it in the room ;)
Thread: FAIRY/ELF EAR MORPHS | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sorry no idea about vue ;)
buuuuuut you can spawn the magnet into a morph and then save the morphed file as a cr2 that will then work like the v3/v4 whatever (as far as i know).
Thread: FAIRY/ELF EAR MORPHS | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i don`t know the quality you achieve,
but you can do elf ears with magnets quite simple.
i don´t have poser at hand right now, but that should work: make a magnet and move the base on the eartip. scale the zone that it hits just the ear. draw the magnet from the base upwards, the eartips will follow. maybe use some more magnets for refinement. save the magnetsets and voila - or transform them into a morph or an inj pose. that way you will have more choices, can make it work on any charakter and the knowledge will come handy in many other situations ;)
the image displays the basic idea, its made in 3 minutes so its not to be discussed for quality :D
Thread: silly question that I probably should know the answer to really... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
should work: prepare the desk in a seperate scene.
save the scene normaly (desktop, your documentsfolder whatever).
import the scenefile via file -> import -> poserscene/prop....
i guess that should do it
Thread: Smartpropping a character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I found a way.... make a new prop and make a conforming figure outofit (prop =1px cube),
=>figC
pose the flail =>figf
drag in setupmode from figc figf into the handbone from figc.
save as Group and have fun....
but it looks bloody messy with two figures. for other things i want to stick with the miniprop method (could be usefull to be able to integrate two fullyrigged figures, but is there a way to clean the mess up and make just one figure out of it? ;)
Thread: Smartpropping a character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmm... thanks for the step by step tutorial, i believe now i know what i want.
first i am just fooling around to get into the rigging stuff. i use the flail for learning purpose, i tried to rig it and it worked. now the problem i have is i Want to make it a conformer.
i can do that by addding a forearmbone to it and a "connectjoint", voila conformed.
there will occur a lot of questions if i cannot solve it myself ...
what i REALLY want is: i rigged it lying on the floor. i want it´s setup in the setuproom appear as it is in the poseroom (e.g. not bent or something, just the whole zeroed bones and polys moved by an offset so i can easier add v4 conformerbones)... is that possible?
Thread: Smartpropping a character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thanks for the quick response,
i tried it and it worked... buuuut
i edited it, moved it, saved it and boom on loading. the flail dissembled - partially loaded in hand, partially in default position. on second try my poser crashed.
any other ideas? already tried your snap to python, but it just works once on the flail.if i decide to reuse it it goes off screen. strange :/

i KNOW there is a great tutorial out there, but i cannot find it right now...
but i think the essence is something like that...
www.paultosca.com/varga_hair.html
maybe i can find it....
FOUND it.
www.art-collaborations.com/Valea_HexHair.pdf
hope that helps, only read it once to get a vague theory... and there are sure way more ways :)
Thread: rigging help for a desk chair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Maybe a dumb idea, but what about exporting it to blender or hexagon,
rip the .obj in two pieces and reimport as two props? i guess you will lose the other movementoptions that way but the result can swivel (cool word :D)
Thread: Lights in Poser (critic VERY welcome) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
bevans that looks great to my dumb eyes.
sigh
i give it up.
thanks bill for the light advice. it worked extremely well... on everythig.
only on all human figures except those that used your vss it failed.
why comes that all human figures i try it on if not treated with vss BREAK?
i thought poser would apply an antigamma automatically when gamma is chosen. why do the figures loose either details, turn green or get washed out or loose highlights?
tried now for over 200 hours to get a good render without vss applied but BOOM.
I am a little pissed over my uncapability ;)
but since vss (at least for me) seems to pick not only the active figure but ANYTHING to improve its not the real deal for me :( i hate to fix the props vss screwed after applying. i don´t get it.
so i am doing my mediocre stuff and i think i wont get any better. sigh was worth the try. seems i am too stupid.
will take the lens and will spend more hours hopefully not in vain.

I HATE YOU!!!
all afternoon spent in vain and ending up with something far inferior than what you pointed me to.... just kidding...
thank you very much for the link, did not open it yet (u answered lightning fast :D ) but if that is what i think it is it rocks.
thanks again both of you.. erm three, whilst writing there was one more answer, uff :) YEEEEHAW ;)

good question ;) ääähm...
its because my prior lightsets sometimes overrid the speculars, i just wasn´t able to find them... the ibl with contrast 1 or 0.5 had eaten it! or something else of the thousand things i am able to mess up did ;)
so i seperatet them to put them where i wanted for testing purpose. no deeper artistic sense, sometimes i find it looks nice. but thats the final realism death blow... call it stupid testing ;)
