Subject: No Support For Vue

Veritas777 ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 3:21 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 4:38 AM

Despite all their big talk and Gebe deleting my posts, the people who run Vue (can't say "E-On) have NEVER offered to help me get version 4.12 I see Lynn from E-On posting here but notice she gives NO phone number or DIRECT email contact. This is typical of the whole Vue operation- total arrogance towards their user base. Nearly every other software company offers a WORKING method of contacting, rather than so arrogant and in-direct in their user support. I've had Vue since Version 2, have made 7 attempts to contact Vue over the past week with my contact info and valid serial number and they have NEVER replied in any helpful way. I know that Gebe here runs the "interference" here at this "Forum" but that ISN'T the support I PAID FOR by buying the software. Why don't they (Vue) have a legitmate WORKING telephone number or WORKING tech support email address?

gebe ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 3:27 PM

Lynn is a HE!! :-) You get support via the e-onsoftware.com site. Your previous post has been deleted because you wrote in the title " Message From E-On". But YOU ARE NOT e-on.

Veritas777 ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 3:45 PM · edited Wed, 03 September 2003 at 4:00 PM

Message From E-On---- "Let Them Eat Cake" that was the Topic! It means that the MESSAGE I get from E-On is NO HELP for you, PEASANT. We (E-On)are on to bigger and better things now. Gebe- do you really think the admins on the Poser Forum would delete "Message From Curious Labs - "Let Them Eat Cake"? Of course they might come to your defense NOW and say YES, but I am certain you can find lots of posts like that on the Poser Forum and the admins did NOT rush in to delete it FEARING that EVERYONE on the Poser Forum would think it was an OFFICIAL Curious Labs Press Release! As we know- "Official" E-On posts are posted by "E-On"

Message From E-On---- "Let Them Eat Cake" that was the Topic! It means that the MESSAGE I "..get from E-On is NO HELP for you, PEASANT. We (E-On)are on to bigger and better things now." YOU say that, not e-on. I'm a Vue user since version 1. We always had a great support from e-on. If you are searching trouble, because you change e-mail address all the time, and because you don't remember which one you used when you registered with e-on, that's your business, not the fault of e-onsoftware. :-)

Veritas777 ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 5:47 PM

Well to me this is just arrogance on top of arrogance. I don't see why ANY registered user cannot contact a software company if they are having problems logging, or whatever, and getting a FAIR resolution to their problem! You attitude you are presenting here Gebe is very typical of the "Royal Palace of E-On" that seems to have emerged as the orders and money, comes in for them, while providing as LITTLE SUPPORT to paid up, registered user as they possibly can. I have to ask ANY fair-minded person out there- is this fair? Is THIS the attitude and SUPPORT you will be getting in the FUTURE when you buy their software?

gebe ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 5:56 PM

None of the existing software companies will give you support if you cannot proove that you have in fact purchased THEIR software. So, just prove it by any way you can (drop me a mail), as you don't remember your e-mail address and your Zip code and I will contact e-onsoftware to resolve your problem. BTW, You are very loud here, but where are your images??

Veritas777 ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:08 PM

I have sent E-On my Vue 4 registration number in EVERY email that I sent, plus my real name and address, so that they could look it up. That's why I have such a HARD TIME BELIEVING this! As a legitmate, long time user, who is completely identifying himself, I still get NO HELP? Who do YOU have to contact E-ON? Do you work for E-ON? Are you their customer support rep? Why must I have Images posted at Renderosity? What's that supposed to prove? I know that a number of other really good, long time Vue users don't have ANY images posted here. Why is THAT a REQUIREMENT for getting FAIR treatment?

Lynn ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:12 PM

Veritas777, We dont provide technical support by phone, but we provide free technical support by email. Typically a support message is responded to and resolved within 48 hours through our online support system. This is in lieu of charging customers $25+ to call and ask questions, or tacking on $25 to the price of Vue for an included support call. I dont post my email address online for the same reason most people here rely on the very good Renderosity messaging system -- so they dont get robot spammed. I see the "real name" listed for you is Veritas Arcana. Is that the name you used to order or register Vue 4? Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software

gebe ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:15 PM

E-mails will NOT BE READ, as Steve Bell explained in a previous thread. If you want help, just send me an e-mail as said above. No, I don't work for e-on, I just try to be helpful. It's up to you to accept or not.

Rokol ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:48 PM

Are you as aggressive as this to E-on support? Then perhaps I have answered your question with a question! I have always got good response to any queries, perhaps you can write with a little less anger and stop hassling Gebe! This forum doesn't need whingers like you anyway! Rokol.

whbos ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 7:13 PM

I'm having problems accessing their update site which I check every couple of weeks to see if the new update is available. It won't let me in even though I've been using the same link through IE's Favorites for a couple of years (which embeds the serial number in the link). I've noticed they don't have any direct email. The closest you can get is some forum or Knowledge Base thing where you post your question. I even re-registered Vue and Mover to get to the update section with no luck.

whbos ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 7:20 PM

By the way, the technical support link doesn't work either which is what I figured the problem to be with the endless loop. For E-on: My original email address ended with "worldnet.att.net" which was shortened to just "att.net," but the system seems to see these as two different emails. I updated this in preferences, but it didn't seem to update it. I also moved a few times since I originally registered Vue 4 which I also updated. I bought Mover 4 recently, but the IE link shows my Vue 4 serial number.

"Well to me this is just arrogance on top of arrogance"... I got my comment on "Vue 4 Pro" thread deleted too without any explaination. I don't see anything wrong in my comment base on personal opinion and I was not even @messaged as to why. Is this Vue people COMMUNITY forum or as noted by Veritas777..."You attitude you are presenting here Gebe is very typical of the "Royal Palace of E-On" or..."Apple Polishing? "BTW, You are very loud here, but where are your images??"... Is this the way it goes?...do I have to show images here to voice my opinion about Vue?...may be I can understand better after your explaination. "I have always got good response to any queries"..oh Rokol, that's good for you but I have yet to get any proper answer about the OpenGL issue with Vue...do you happened to have an answer for that one? I really would like to know what video card e-on is using that has no problem when deleveloping Vue all this while and I would love to buy the same card...Gebe said "they tested all the cards" once but that did not work for me.

Veritas777 ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 8:45 PM

I think it is PRETTY CLEAR that this is NOT a fair Forum of opinions but just an operation controlled by a few get get as many people as possible to buy their software and then provide as little SUPPORT as possible! "E-mails will NOT BE READ, as Steve Bell explained in a previous thread." THAT SAYS IT ALL FOLKS!!! You can't LOGIN, You won't have your EMAILS READ, everything MUST GOT THROUGH Gebe!!! She determines, based upon your gallery images, and how much you suck up to her, who gets support and who doesn't. Steve Bell and Lynn are obviously LURKING out there, but will do NOTHING to help! To me this all comes pretty close to gangsterism. I think that the American news media and the Attorney Generals in various U.S. States should be alerted to this scheme, after which I am pretty sure some major investigative journalism and LEGAL ACTION could be initiated this operation.

rds ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 9:16 PM

Little kids like your self may have a problem getting an attorney to handle this type of childishness. You have been given your answers so get over it. In time more of what you are SO concerned about more than likely will be solved. Why do you use Vue if you hate is so much any way? This is really making you look pretty naive and immature. If it means so much to you give E-on a call in France. I am sure they will answer the phone and do their best to help you. This is not the e-on software site. This is Renderosity where people like your self can come in and make up all kinds of stuff looking for attention. Let me clue you in boy, no one gives a darn about your lack of social grace and the way you come across. So sure go ahead hire an attorney make a big fuss, jump up and down and scream. See where it gets you and good luck. IMHO this thread should be locked and we all need to move on to more suitable subject matter. In other words if this is the only problem you have in your life consider yourself lucky. Best Regards in your effort to find a solution to your problem. `shoop

Xiores ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 11:23 PM

I really don't see the point in blasting the moderators of this forum. This is Renderosity, not E-On Software. The tools and tutorials they provide as well as help and encourgement do not deserve this type of comment nor the anger taken out on them. I had a problem with reinstalling the 4.12 upgrade also, and went thru the loops trying to communicate with them. Yes the OpenGL sucks and does not work at all under XP, but prehaps the new fix or version will correct this. In any case write or better yet FAX your problem to E-On in France at their address and phone numbers shown in the User manual. If you still don't get an answer, write the Attorney General in Oregon a letter or the newspaper in Beaverton. But lets not involve the nice people here who provide this site. I managed to get by upgrade straight with a few e-mails to E-On Software. I suggest you try again expaining your problems and you have used Vue since ver 2. But I must say.. no answer whatsoever on the OpenGL prob..... but thats a prob for everyone.. not just me and I'm sure E-on will address it in the next release....

Also add my support for this forum. Getting mad at eon then taking it out on the people here is uncalled for. Everyone, mods included go out of their way to help people learn a program we all love... flaws and all. Beefs, take it to eon. Or im Lynn.

Lynn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 1:16 AM

Veritas777, I still dont have your real name, which I asked for hours ago (scroll up). How are you to get support if we cannot identify that you are a registered owner? Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software

Djeser ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 2:30 AM

While I can understand some level of frustration if you're having a difficult time getting to tech support, I don't think being so agressive towards people in this forum is going to help the situation. A better course of action for folks having problems accessing technical support at E-on might be: 1. Try the method at the website several times. If you still have problems, then... 2. Post in the forum asking for assistance. 3. IM or email Gebe, who is always very helpful with this type of thing. She doesn't work for E-on, but has a very good relationship with them, and can possibly pass on information to them to help you. 3. IM Lynn or Eon here. That way you avoid having an email sent to E-on Software getting caught by spam-bots. 4. Whenever you change any of the information you registered your E-on product with, attempt to update your information at the E-on website. If you can't get that to work for you, go through items 2, 3, 4 above. Some simple suggestions, but I think they might be a lot more productive than having a tantrum here and in the Poser forum. And by the way, a little bit of courtesy and respect goes a long way, as does a constructive discussion of the problem. Personally attacking Gebe is way out of line, in my very humble opinion.

Come on people. Veritas is saying that he is getting lousy service from Vue. I thought this was an Artist's Community where we could share ideas about what was good or bad About the products we use. That way we can make informed choices about where we spend our money. Apparently, it has different objectives.

gebe ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 3:47 AM

tesign, no, you don't need to show images to participe to this forum, of course, I already have said that in an older thread. But I was just wondering where Veritas777's images are, as he only makes trouble, nothing else. I would like to know if he's really a Vue user. Lynn offered him a direct help and hasn't got any answer from him either. I never delete a thread without informing the original author by IM and the administrators directly. About the OpenGL issue, I will very shortly open a new thread with some cards I'm sure they work with Vue. I cannot do better, because I have not the ability to test all the cards. Guitta

tesign ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 4:19 AM

About Veritas777...I do not know him or her but if you think he is making trouble, you have my respect as a moderator in your task to take the necessary action you deem fit. "I never delete a thread without informing the original author"..About my comment for Vue 4 Pro, I'll take it from here that it went into cyberspace...anything with computers and electronics does give surprises and if this is the case, I'm take back what I thought. The fact that I brought it out was because it so coincide with that of having V777 post deleted. About video cards that works with Vue 4, I read your post and its a pretty good start. I'm dying to change my video card (applicational graphics rather than games) but because of Vue, I have been holding back. At least we are guided. I have a Oxygen VXD16 3d labs card that initially works beautifully with Vue 4 with Open GL but as the upgrade patch came along...I'm a having problem..even after a clean install of OS and everything else.

YL ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 6:06 AM

The messages which are very agressives here, and which are not deleted, are the proof that the forum admin is tolerant !!! Guitta is a very nice person, answering to all, always trying to help : that's not very fair to be agressive with her !!! I can understand it's very frustrating to have problem's with e-on support, but please try to contact them and remain FAIR here, you could also do a research in all the past threads concerning your problem Yves

niandji ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:31 AM

"I think it is PRETTY CLEAR that this is NOT a fair Forum of opinions....." Thats's an interesting statement to make considering the amount of forum space your rant has been given, and it appears that the only problem you've got with this board is that hardly anybody agrees with you. You've continued to rant even though Gebe as tried to help you; Lynn has asked you provide information so that he can help you; and you resort to making desultory claims for legal redress. Forget it. It ain't gonna happen. This isn't some FPS kiddie forum, where you can incite a flame riot against a software house just because your not happy about something. Take a deep breat and count to 10 (you can, can't you?) Leave your attitude at the door, apologise to Gebe and start again.

nish ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 5:26 PM

Such a lame excuse to start a quarrel!!! I'm quiet sure I've seen few threads where ppl were giving e-on two thumbs up for the 4.2 beta. If they all can download and their serial # can be recognized; why not ONLY few ppl like V777??? Even though I could care less ... But, I think the problem might be very simple. As passwords or serials are very sensitive matters, they use high encryptions. And I'm quiet sure e-on's site is written in ASP or PHP or something like that. So, unless your browser is high encryption capable, there is a very good chance that you might have trouble with serials or passwords and such. I suggest first you check if you have 128bit encryption in your Internet Explorer or whatever browser you use. And Guitta, whenever you come to New York, give me a call, I would be honored to give you a free tour. :-) You have my utter respect for all the help you provide us!

Lynn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 6:40 PM

If you are having problems logging in to get an update, something to be aware of is that when you log in, you have a default user name and a default password. If you change your password, its really changed. We encrypt that sort of thing so we cannot recover a password on an account, only delete it. We've had several calls recently from people who cannot log in because of changing the password. We are going to set it up so its easier for you to reset your password and have it emailed to you. Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software

I have gleaned one useful tip from this thread - never to bother opening another one started by the infinitely tiresome Veritas777 (or should it be 666?). My respect to Guitta and Lynn for remaining calm, polite and helpful (words whose meaning you might care to look up, V777) under this unwarranted barrage of abuse.

whbos ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:16 PM

Thanks Lynn for the response. I just got an email from E-on as well regarding the problems with the "Access Denied" page. I figured something must have changed at your site, and it isn't my browser as someone else mentioned. I probably should have posted my original message separately and not in this terrible thread.
