That really bites man.. and you're definately getting hit hard by luck but I think most can tell you that's the exception rather than the rule. I had one item that kept downloading funny but I've bought quite a bit from Daz and it's always been a fairly painless and nice transaction (like here actually... always easy) But that certainly does suck all that has happened to you. I second Anzan. Had a problem completing a d/l on the 3rd day of a 3 day weekend, and Reba got back to me pretty promptly (given the DAZ weekend jinx, I am assuming she had a lot of e-mail Tuesday morning). Set up a non-expiring page, etc. So it seems like an exception...sadly, I know if I was in your shoes, that fact would probably frustrate me more ;-) Of course, the real solution ought to be DAZ getting their tech straightened out...how many weekends go by withot a post here from someone with a DAZ d/l problem?
Actually, much of the problem is in their timing. When they put up a bunch of goodies on Friday, a large number of people are going to pounce on them... and of that number a percentage are going to have problems getting their order. If they waited until Monday or Tuesday to put up new stuff, folks would be able to contact them with problems midweek and bugs could get worked out immediately instead of 3 days later. Carolly

I hope that you got my e-mail that I sent out to you last night around 12:30 A.M. with all the download information. Our web connection at the office went down yesterday afternoon so I sent it up for you at home late last night. It's about 7:15 A.M. now and I just barely noticed this post on R'osity for the first time. Please feel free to contact me if you have any problems getting the files. Well, I am MAYBE beginning to feel better, if I CAN get my downloads.. but so far links don't work... but Dan is 'on it' so "stay tuned"... I DIDN'T "order on a weekend".. at least I didn't think 3 pm Friday DAZ time, BY PHONE -was considered a weekend.. but Dan said the systems went down... so I guess that is why I didn't even get a notice of this, till Dan's e .. so I am just hoping this will all go through.. not sure I will feel comfortable ordering again, but if I do it will be at 9 am on a Monday morning with me doing nothing else but sit here at computer and phone, monitoring till all is completed!! Thank you all for your sympathy.. and FYI I have NEVER had trouble ordering here at Renderosity... it's just that I wanted several items at DAZ this time.. :) Lyne

I do all my DAZ ordering on Saturday or Sunday mornings because that's usually when I have time to do that, and I think maybe only two or three times I've had a problem, but DAZ graciously fixed the problem Monday. I've always gotten only the very best service from them. They've bent over backward to correct problems. It's so rare for a company to give real customer service these days. I'm so impressed with them. Reba, AnneMarie, Dan, have all been very polite on the phone or by e-mail with me, friendly and more than willing to do good business. I really appreciate their efforts to satisfy their customers. I know you're frustrated, but give them a chance. They're great folks there. Melanie
The problem with smaller businesses is that it is expensive to pay people to babysit websites on weekends. I did customer support on weekends by myself at an ISP. We had 11,000 customers and like 50 employees. The phones weren't ringing off the hook, but we had just enough complaints about a lack of weekend support that they finally added those weekend hours. So for two days a week I would sometimes answer 2 calls a day or 20. Most of the time I was surfing the web or reading a book. Those weekend hours meant less support during the week, so it's a tough business decision for a small company to add weekend support. Daz's customer service is good in my experience. I would suggest that if you tend to have problems ordering from Daz (some people do, no idea why) that you order no later than Thursday afternoon.
Three things to remember: 1. The Internet as we know it is still relatively young. On-line purchases are not always as easy as buying at the corner store- and even the corner store occassionally makes errors. 2. DAz3D has a history of looking after their customers. But time does not run backwards so sometimes the remedy happens tomorrow instead of yesterday. 3. Hey... we're talking models here that most of us use for play. I have set up the downloads again. I think the problem with the first download is that I entered an un-necessary space in the URL that messed it up (I told you I was a novice at this). I copied myself on the e-mail and checked the link myself and it seems to be working fine. If you have any further problems just e-mail me and I will do my best to get it sorted out. Sorry once again for any problems this may have caused.

I was still unable to download, once into the server, and after making sure it was not my machine or connection, etc..(downloading stuff from here and other free sites easily) I explained to Dan, and he sent me an e mail about setting up a CD to send me my products... As I said to Dan.. in spite of the DAZ systems being erratic Dan himself has never let me down, and is also very good at soothing ruffled feathers... thanks, Dan! Lyne

It's kind of nice, for me at any rate, to really love a company and the deapths they'll go to help you out sometime. I'm so used to being so incredibly ticked off I can't see straight but Daz always does its best. Problems happen.. everywhere and to everyone, how you judge these things is how they behave when there is one. Anzan

I am so fed up.. does this happen to others?? First I order at DAZ on line after a long dry spell.. and the system took my money and never gave me a download till days later.. closed for holidays!.... so no help, no order.. Learned my lesson.. placed next order during weekday... my GOOD credit card went though, but system refused my downloads.. so I CALLED Reba.. and she had to take my order on phone again, and put up downloads for me.. so hours later had order... So I decided today at 2 pm (Friday) to place PHONE order directly with Reba, and it was a big one.. I asked for a receipt, and she said no problem that she would set up my downloads and send me my e mail notice... NOTHING, NADA... HOURS LATER.. I gave her plenty of time... did errands.. 7 pm.. nothing... DAZ has my $$ and I have nothing...AND THEY ARE CLOSED FOR THE WEEKEND!!! I am so frustrated... So much for downloads... I so wanted a bunch of Eric's and Rena's and the dragons.. etc.. for pure enjoyment... but I really am turned off when I have to PRY my orders out of DAZ.. SIGH Lyne
