After you helped me figure out WHAT I even needed to fix- I was able to go here and it walked me through the steps:
http://artzone.daz3d.com/wiki/doku.php/pub/tutorials/poser/poser-rigging04
I have attached a pic of the suit now with all the joint editing I can figure out that needs doing. As you can see there is still some poke through. Is this where I would then apply magnets? Or how would I go about fixing it now that the joints seem good?
Thanks a million!

yesh I checked and it won't pose when reimported. And although I told it to weld both exporting and importing it didn't seem to work?

Thank you. I had a quick look and the video looks very informative so I look forward to watching it. One quick question...if I export it as an obj and back in to weld the vertex won't it lose all its bone and groups or not? Thanks.

ok feel like I am making good progress, in no small part thansk to everyone here! I have now regrouped everything in the set up room. But when I return to pose the mesh tears apart at all the lines of the groupings. I use weld group ijn set up room but I think that only welds polgons within the group not one group to another? Any idea how to fix this?

would I need to weld the geometry where those green lines are? (post above)
Also I noticed on the base figure that the left and right collar bones are in the chest group area on the base model. I am wondering how I should group my vest. Wouldn't three bones in one grouping area be confusing? The are for the left and right collars that is grouped on the base figure seems to have more of left and right shoulder bone in it than anything else?

Ok I seem to be making some headway! Thanks to everyone's help...I am wondering why in group editor if I save before I am done my work there are green lines outlining part of the vest even if I delete that group and start over. Do they mean anything? Thanks...

Hey thanks for your advice (as always!) I think you are right I am going to forget D/S for creating clothes and just stick to learning Poser. I use Daz to create scenes for my graphic novels but it is way too confusing trying to use both for creating models! I am going back to the drawing board and see what can learn this evening!

Thank you for your helpful advice. I don't know anyting about text editors though I am sure I will learn as a part of all this! As far as scaling exporting and importing I am doing this. However I wonder if you know, doesn't this mean I can't use the cr2 files I have exported from daz because they will not import to fit in poser without me changing them to obj files to reimport? Also does anyone know why these extra steps are neccessary and they don't just fit when I import the first time? thanks...

I'm thinking perhaps I should just try the OBJ2CR2 File Converter from PhilC designs. I would like to understand the problems I am having too though so I can understnad how it all works better!
