To import to Bryce you must export as a wavefront object...obj format. You will get a chart on this that shows everything on your poser screen...background, and all figures. Uncheck the background...the first 2..then check figure 1...all the parts to figure one should automatically check...then scroll down and do the same for fig 2, your clothing. (Possibly, the export is the same in 3ds...but I don't have it, so don't know.)

I really, really like Softy. Funny thing..when I went to d/l it..and the English was not right, words, that is..I almost bypassed it. I think it is only 40 some dollars. However, my monitor fried on me..got another. I did not need that expense. Softy is a different 3d program from the others I have. A softer, gentler, sort of 3d...Thanks for answering my post. I would really love to be able to use Softy, in conjuction with my other programs. Shine on.. Linda

Looking again..You say you modelled the models in POSER and Softy? I can't model anything in Poser...What am I missing? The more I look at your graphic, the more I like it. Poppi

I like it. I downloaded Softy, the demo, and really, really liked it. I was surprised. However, I could not save it in anything but...teehee...softy format. A shame, too, because it was a program that I really was considering keeping. (I have had some really bad experiences with other programs that actually would not convert file formats correctly.) I liked your use of light. Poppi

Do you have to convert it to an .obj to get a texture template out of it? That is a "yes"...then, you use the uvmapper so it will line up (hopefully ;)right. As for the second part...lol...well, I am lost, now. And, I HATE BEING stuck on stupid.

I play with transparencies...and, change the highlights, ambient, and reflective lighting on my figure. To me, the default ones in poser do make the darned thing look like plastic dolls...actually did a pic and called it barbie hero. Alot of making a poser figure look good is in the post processing. I use layers and gaussian blurs to get the effects I want.

I hope this doesn't sound really stupid, but I have Poser4 and just import 3ds files right into it. If you want to convert to .obj...just export them as wavefront. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
