This is the only site I've encountered that gives me grief when validating Poser program serial numbers since they've changed the downloads policy. After many frustrating attempts with P6 & 7, I was finally able to to have my P5 serial accepted, only to have the the results disappear next time I tried to download something. I don't need that kind of grief, so in future I'll simply avoid the site. Too bad. There are a lot of good and talented Poser people who depend on the marketplace there to earn a bit of extra income. I'll feel guilty for not patronizing them.

My sincere compliments on a beautiful, imaginitively crafted site. The Flash content actually contributed to the interface experience rather than making it more difficult to use. I wish more web designers would follow your example. And thanks for the gorgeous landscape backgrounds!

Lord, Karen, that is one adorable moggy. I don't know why I love cats so much. Maybe it's because they have the ability to willingly transcend their natures as the ultimate feral gunslingers of nature and bond so completely and sweetly with humans.

Quote - *-But I do know Bill Gates is not Satan incarnate
*Did you ever read "Barbarians led by Bill Gates. Microsoft from the inside" by Jennifer Edstrom and Marlin Eller? Perhaps Bill Gates isn't the devil, but I'm sure he's an incarnation of Atilla the Hun.
regards,
Bopperthijs
Didn't read that book, Bopper, but I did catch the film "Pirates of Silicon Valley" which was fairly accurate for a television drama. Thanks for recommending the title, I'll have a look for it next time I visit the library.

Vista's sales have fallen far short of expectations. Seems the only significant market is computer manufacturers who include it as the installed os. Microsoft's response has been to blame the product's disappointing reception on software pirates and Apple's PR department.
Many of the reviews from the tech gurus I've read blame Vista's nasty temperment on Microsoft's obsession with digital medium "rights" and they way MS's programmers have implemented code to make sure you don't get access to something you may not have paid for, at least by their definition. I have no idea whether this view is accurate or not. But I do know Bill Gates is not Satan incarnate. He's just the devil's cabana boy.

I consider myself a free speech absolutist in the context of public expression. Any other position is oppressive and censorial. Having said that, I must take exception to the incivility that so often seems to pollute otherwise interesting and valid topics of discussion.
Demeaning others with whom you disagree or find wanting in some way by calling them "hacks" and syncophants" is neither constructive or conducive to a free exchange of ideas. And why intentionally harm another human being's enjoyment of participating in a shared interest? Not everyone who submits their work here has the time, talent, resources, technical expertise or experience to consistently create genuinely beautiful images.
Offering honest critiques of another's art is a desirable action since it can provide perspectives and information that supplement an artist or hobbyists skills. Calling them names doesn't. All that accomplishes is alienation.
Anyway, I'm convinced Emilio Estevez is living in my hot water heater. I have no idea what he's up to, but he keeps stuffing broken crayons and wadded balls of rice paper in the pipes.

Thanks for the heads up and the link. It doesn't get any better than broadband and great free stuff.
Thread: OT - Won the lottery lately?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I receive around 10 emails a day offering to sell me something guaranteed to dramatically increase the size of my...uh...naughty bits. Why do these people even bother? They obviously have access to a pc, so they surely must realize how many others are already peddling this crap. I suppose it's rather sad, in a way.
Thread: Poser upgrade for sale; is this okay? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Software companies that include a denial of legitimate ownership transfer of their products in the applicable tos, whether by sale, trade or gift, have violated the law. The most they can legally do is deny support on the qualification that such services are limited to the original owner by purchase contract.
Intellectual copyrights for software are currently a matter of intense debate, especially in the international courts. The Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act is not yet law, which means that the principles of "fair use" and "first sale" still apply.
One of the better known suits in this category involved Caere, the makers of Pagekeeper Pro. Caere filed suit against a customer who attempted to sell a used, legitimately purchased copy of their product on eBay, just as you have. The defendant filed a counter-complaint and won easily. So if eFrontier threatens to sue, throw a party. You've just purchased a winning ticket in the litigation lottery.
Thread: ok how do you yank out this damn P7 SR1??????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Lord, this is really starting to sound bad for the average user. First Vista, and now the highly anticipated P7 service pack seems to have been released with rabies. Thanks for the heads up, Sealtm. I was just about ready to install the darn thing.

Hair. Hair that doesn't have long strands hanging down across the eyes or otherwise covering the face. Hair that doesn't look like it was snatched from the scalp of a new wave herion addicted model. I've been working for six months on an 80's style spaniel style curly cut, and it's one of the most difficult projects I've ever undertaken.
