Quote - Â I think it is really important to save your friends to your figures library.
Yeah, we could then put them in strange poses & doing 'things' to each other.
It's been a long day, lol.

Ah, the shadow density is crucial for that softer more realistic look. Mix that in with other atmosphere/light properties plus render settings for soft shadows & you're on a winner.
Thread: Hi guys, new here | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Welcome to Poser!
Acadia has a link for all Poser newcomers. I thought it was a sticky here but it seems it ain't. Some kind soul will post a link, if not the great woman herself will.
Ask specific questions here, there's generally someone around who'll put you in the right direction.
Try & stick with V4.2. She's the latest big thing & alot of content is being made for her. If you have the major morph packages from Daz there's loads of interesting figures you can create.
I work with Vue 6 Infinite so if you need help with import etc I'll try & help.

Quote - I don't know any warriors, but I'm sure if I did, they wouldn't be out killing things with a sword while wearing a thong and pasties!
No, but they'd look good doing it!
Thread: OT: My Second Blog | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It is true about alot of the work done with Poser. Lots of pinups with no real thought for creativity. I've done some myself in the past, I guess most of us are guilty of it. I'm not being disrespectful, just stating what I see. But, I would assume most Poser users are just hobbyists so they should do what they want with it without the ridicule of anyone.
Also, the store here & at other places. It's like a shop to buy clothing for Barbie. If I was new to all this I would be put off by Poser by what I see.
But, I know the potential of this great app. Cheap, fairly easy to learn & great for setting up scenes to be imported into superior render programs.
Yes, it would be great to have the money & time to learn 3Ds Max etc to create our own figures from scratch, but the Daz figures have given alot of us a great starting point for our artwork.
Kudos to the 'Pros' who do all their own work, just let's not knock those who use Poser as part of their tool kit to get a job done.
It really is the end result that matters, not how you got there.

You are right indeed, but most of the time these outfits are just fantasy, & made to be sexy as well. Good protection seems to be down on the list of the maker.

God, that sounds weird.
Tell this to a none 3D person & note their reaction.
Thread: Dumb question. When is Siggraph? | Forum: Vue
Apparently Vue 7 Infinite will be free to the winner of the prettiest picture contest.
Well, it should be.
If not, I guess I can always go work the streets to pay for it!

Thread: OT: What does the Renderosity Newsletter and Frontpage say about our hobby? | Forum: Vue
I'm too ashamed. I'd rather have a porn site on screen so as least people would think I had an interesting hobby!!!
Seriously though, Rendo is all about the store & it's all mainly clothes for barbie. I wouldn't want work colleagues to see me looking at it.
Thread: Big Rendering ? | Forum: Vue
I have the same specs as you Ben. I only have problems if I try to go above 2000 x, but I rarely render this size so I'm OK.
If you must go larger, try not to have anything else open in Windows so most of your RAM can be allocated to Vue.
Oh yes, don't forget to purge that memory in Vue!

An interesting read, good stuff.
Now, I want to be cool & I want to be an elitist. Where do I sign up?
Seriously though, I wish I had the time & the money to learn a professional program. Alas, I'll just have to make do with my Poser & Vue toys.
Does this mean I can no longer consider myself an artist?
Maybe one day I can join the big boys so I can then look down on others.

Quote - If one can grow old with their facilities still intact...that's awesome.
Nah, it's probably better to get old crazy & care free!

Ringing, beeping, silly tunes, vibrating. I hate phones!!!
There, I feel better now I got that off my chest.
