Now I know this question's been answered many times before -- and by far better folks than me and with lots better stuff -- but I'm feeling brave today, so here goes. First, The stuff will export, but Bryce and Poser look at textures very differently, and you have to tell Bryce what it's supposed to do. There's even a few utilities out there that help in this process, and several tutorials to avail yourself of. But that wasn't your real question (just one buried in there). If the textures are material shaders from bryce, make a square in Bryce, apply the texture, and render the image, or create a flat terrain, export it with textures. as far as placing light sources, Poser still isn't as roust with lights as Bryce is (some day, maybe), but you can still get a lot of stuff done. You can add as many lights to a scene as you wish to add, and move them around to your hearts content. You are, however, going to have to do it "manually" -- that is, click the little star, add the light, move it around to where you want, etc. If the lights are for particular things, parent them to that item (those eyes, for example). Getting the item to shine (reacting as if the light was coming from it) can be done through use of the ambient channel color. Now, when you do that, don't think you can then click on your lights folder and add your favorite light set. You'll have to do that before you add your own lights into the scene. Also, the only lights you can really "place" are spotlights. The others are more ambient in nature. hope this helps a little bit!

Amen to this. I'm not a down on P5 person by any stretch of the imagination. I've had very very few problems with it, and started with no expectations beyond doing what PPP did with a little more stability. It met them, for the most part. The lights, issue, however, is one that really sorta irks the crap outta me. If they did nothing else but fix that, I'd be the happiest gal... Of course, I would like more shader options, and a few more effects options, and caustics, and Well, I'm crazy -- what'd you expect?

We gotta give something back to all you wonderful folks! I've lurked since mid '99 --- that's a hell of a lot of freebies... So this is it. It's huge file -- I'm no wizard at making morphs smaller inside of cr2 and pp2 files, but I did my best. And the only reason any of it exists is because of the great minds here, RDNA, and PoserPros. Learned what tiny bit I was able to absorb from them.

well, wow. Great thread. Too bad it sorat died for a while -- time to bring it back... Ages and ages ago, long before the dawn of what we rcognize as the 21st century, I was born. As a kid, I tended to exhibit the odd habit of speaking not merely in voices, but in several languages. I also wasn't really into girlstuff. So one day my Dad looked at my Mom when I was being particularly obnoxious and said "Can't you do anything about this insane child?" Stopped me cold. Been ynsaen ever since. Seemed very fitting when I got online on compuserve in the early 90's. I don't know if there are any others out there. I'm also called WingedVyxyn in some circles. That's from my, um, less exciting side. hee hee Recently, I designed a really cool image I called SteelPansy. So I took that name, too. Something about flowers that are hard... and my name is Elle. lol

um, wow. not that I matter much, having far too little belief in my own self importance, but I'm brave enough to venture my feeble minded thoughts on the issue: eh. No big deal. hmmm. yeah, that about sums it up. :)

Still curious to know more about the tool itself. While the image is impressive, what of greater importance (imho) is the usability and learning curve associated witht he product. The interest is there, but I needs ta know more, chile. Share a bit with me...

Ah, crescent, nothing like old Joe to make life a bit more interesting, is there.... Odd you should mention impeachment. One of the saddest things I've seen in a very long time, and something that will stick with me a long time happened at the state fair. I was strolling through one of the merchant areas (I get lost there sooo easy!) and came around suddenly to this rather plain booth -- it was the spraseness of it that made me look, and I know you'll understand that -- and at it was just a table with about eight books on it behind which sat a man who looked as if the world had crushed him flat. The book was by Evan Mecham -- his side of the story, with that old Governor face smiling from it's otherwise vey simple jacket. The man was ole Evan himself, whom last I'd met some 25 years earlier while visiting a family friend you might also recall (Name of Sam Steiger, though I'll deny it forever), and while I was rather preoccupied during most of that, I recalled all of it just looking into his face. Made me sad, it did. Didn't change my mind about his term, mind you, but it surely made me sad. Howdy neighbor -- how bouts all this rain! Looks like we'll be able to drink water this summer after all!

The shorthand of the sterotype? The reflection of common experience? The refuge of the weak minded? The shelter of the familiar? heck, if I didn't use at least one cliche a day, my life would become as dreary and mundane as, well, my local "fine art" critic. Odd, Crescent -- the "Dry heat" of my home sounds strangely like the dry heat of yours. Agua Fria nearby? Or perhaps a salt? Maybe a mount lemmon or two...

Thread: A Feminist? Article (or the joy? of womanhood) | Forum: Writers
Through a variety of circumstance and fortune, I now find myself looking at a once more swollen body (and with a sense of finality in it that comforts me greatly!) and trying yet again all the little things we've always done to keep it together.
This despite the fact that I've always been very mindful of my looks. But, now, I find thatI don't really give a dman anymore. Sometime during the last year I stpped trying to really get my face right and figured if I was doing it in the car, I was doing it wrong anyway.
Somewhere along the way I realized that I was never going to get rid of my pouch short of a girdle.
But I did realize that gravity only hits me when I'm tired, and I don't get as tired as I once did. Maybe it's the exercising I started like a demon after my last one, which I'm missing a lot as I balloon out in bed trying not to think about the pair I'm handling this time (For the few that count, yes, this will make , um, seven or eight -- don't 'member and none of the others are still long enough for me to count) in between sneaking to the computer when my designated watchdog wanders or sleeps.
I'll not go gently into that old womanhood. I've got a family of wrinkles that I'll wear proudly, and stretchies are the price I pay for being way, way way too into the mommy thing.
I've always heard life begins at 40. Well, then about the time I get these outta diapers, I'll be starting mine. And heaven beware if anyone decides I'm too old for something other than me -- I've got skydiving lessons reserved for November.
As for the Old Crone Store, why, The reason I'm replying is a trip into my closet, which holds things I admit only in it's confines that I'm sure will find their way out again when I hit my 70's, and that's the secret itself -- those stores are our closets. The last time I bought a new dress was two years ago, and I had to make half my latest stuff (have you seen the ghastly stuff that's affordable for maternity now? It was better eight years ago!).
babbling, Sorry. Hear hear!
