You can try these methods:
Thread: Too many folders? - Can't access all Pose files | Forum: Poser Technical
There's still time before the release of Poser 5.0 , so try the Poser 5 wish list and your idea will be considered, if it hasn't already been suggested.
Personally I would recommend against further nesting of folders, but would suggest instead an expanded libraries option, where Poser can internally select alternate folders in the libraries folder, i.e.
instead of just single character, prop, pose or face folders, e.g.
Thread: Millenium Kids Head Size | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If an adult is 7 heads high, a child of that age might be 5 heads high. Try that ratio, because I think both your heads are too big for an 8-yr.-old boy (although the wide angle complicates things).
Thread: Custom Poser Installation.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mac OS has a utility called Tome-Viewer that is used to read installation CDs and extract desired files. I don't know if it works on the Poser CD, which apparently has a security feature (mentioned by Dan) that may make extraction difficult. That must be a lock function that's distinct from the read-only nature of a finished CD, which is called "locking a disk" in Mac OS.
Thread: WIP - Looking for lighting pointers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It looks like it will be an excellent scene when you finish it. Keep us posted. One question - where can we obtain the Conan model or character?

It looks like the torch bottom has a purple ambient. You can try setting the ambient to black.

Vickie seems prettier and more feminine. But I'll bet Dina could beat Vickie in a hot-dog-eating contest!
Thread: How do you rename and hide the parameter dials in Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can also delete the dials you don't need in the hierarchy editor, but that may be too drastic. To hide them, you may change the "hidden" value for the parameter (dial) from 0 to 1 (using a text editor, as bloodsong said).
Thread: can I post a morphs? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm a newbie here, but from what I've read by searching this archive, you can post an ordinary cr2 file for your character if it's not Vickie 2. But if it IS Vickie 2, DAZ has some guidelines for you to follow. IIRC it involves producing a reduced cr2 file that doesn't contain or use any of the DAZ morphs.

I'm just a newbie here, still learning the ropes, but here's my two cents: I can't speak for CL, but an old rule of thumb is that a path length (total number of characters in all the names in a directory structure, starting with the top folder and continuing down through the subfolders to any destination file) should be less than 256 characters. Another old rule of thumb is that the total number of items in any directory level should be less than 256. To be honest, for sanity's sake, maybe it should be less than 100. These things vary from Windows to Unix to Mac to BeOS to Linux, and they may no longer be mandatory, but why not give it a try?

I'm a newbie here, but I've seen that happen in two cases: 1. Bending was disabled or turned off 2. Body part was replaced with prop
Thread: Poser | Forum: Carrara
I'm a newbie here myself, but from what I've read by searching the archive for this forum: 1. Carrara will import and render Poser models complete with textures, as long as you export the poser scene as a wavefront.obj file with everything but the last two options checked. 2. You make sure copies of all texture maps are in the same folder as the wavefront.obj and wavefront.mtl files that you exported from Poser. 3. Import to Carrara with default wavefront options (unless doing a morph target, in which case import as vertex object). 4. Transparency (eyelashes, hair, eyeballs) can be difficult, but search back a few messages and there's a good discussion and link on how to do that, too.
Thread: fustration | Forum: Poser Technical
I'm just a newbie here myself, but try these tips: 1. Remember to check anti-alias in render options. 2. Export as tiff to avoid pixellation (squiggly, blurry edges). 3. Use the largest texture maps your memory will allow - usually 2000X2000 or larger.
