all i can say is..... I'm VERY glad i'm not the person who rendered this image for CL LOL. I wouldn't want to be them at this moment.
Thread: Why is my background pic disappearing when I render the scene? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just to check, in rendering are you making sure you have checked off "render over background image?".
Thread: OT, but HAVE to vent about some LOUSY Parents! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have two kids, i've gone months without razor blades, my own medications, and MEALS to make sure they have what they need. They come first, not the other way around. Its treatment as the "be seen and not heard" ethic, that drives me crazy. Somehow because they are children, their needs come last. That is why so many children are so disrespectful of adults and authority figures today. They figure, no one's really listening anyway. I do all i can for my kids (and some others i know that aren't even mine), because i KNOW one day, when they are all grown up, and I'm old, they will be taking care of ME.. because i took care of THEM. Is the way it should be.
Thread: A honest comment The RANT | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In my opinion, I just find there is a difference between critiquing on artistic merit, and critiquing on what someone likes or doesn't. I generally get this type of thing on other galleries, and not so much on renderosity. An example would be a painting i have done of a figure. I find it acceptable to tell me the shading is off, shadowing is bad, I missed details or could paint the hair better. I'm okay with something more like, "the expression seems a little too flat/ or / exaggerated". "Not enough details in the clothes", "You need to work on painting cloth more". These are all great recommendations and comments. Critiques that set me off? "She's too skinny", "I dont like that outfit on her", "I don't like her lips, they are too full", "he looks to effeminate", "Put more clothes on her". I am never looking to please everyone's tastes, and I often get comments like this, because, heaven forbid, I paint people with realistic bodies. Yes, stretch marks, acne, ill-proportioned features. People commenting sometimes miss, we're looking for comments on artistical merritt, not wether or not you'd sleep with the person we've painted.
Thread: A (stupid?) thread about Poser and the 3D modellers ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On another art site, where i have a gallery, i get this total hatred of GCI and "posered" images. One actually critiqued, on one of my pictures, that for GCI my picture was "good", but it wasn't art.
Considering i dont straight render out of poser and hand paint over almost the entirety of the thing, I found that amusing.
This same person commented in another gallery (followed his comments for the month) to find he loved others art..... ahem which were tooled around with in PSP or PS to look like oil paintings, but i know Vicki when i see her ROFL and the MFD.
So i guess if its a clear sharp image they cant create, and have to hide flaws with a softening and oil paint filter, its not art :) Because of these stupid comments, i tend to not put my good paintings up there anymore. Its like showing art to blind people and asking their opinion. Glad i came to renderosity.

I can't say I have any suggestions for this. Granted, though I work in poser, i put all my images in mixed medium. I think all but one are in mixed medium, because i just use poser for a baseline, then hand paint everything else with a wacom tablet & pen. Heh, didn't want to offend any poser purists i guess :: I've been in the top twenty twice in mixed medium, and i was thrilled (shocked even). So I cant say there's bias in the top twenties of other catagories, as I am not exactly well known nor do I know a lot of peeps on renderosity myself. However, I do regularly check all the top twenties in many catagories "except" poser. This is just my own preference, many of the poser works are very good, but after the umpteenth viewing of Koz Longhair in a "new" render, its sort of tedious.. so I avoid that particular listing.
Thread: Moan to Curious Labs: P6 full of bugs gone back to P5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had p4 and never had p5, though I envied what i saw of it, at the time money was too tight to get it. I saved my lil pennies, and yes, got the pre-order of p6 and couldn't wait to get it in my hot little hands. In a nutshell.. P6 makes P4 look like a tinker toy. P6 has had some minor problems, mostly freezing up in the simulation in the cloth room. No render problems, and the freeze up was just twice probably because i was asking from it a hurculean task. you see, I am "learning" P6 as its a whole other entity from P4. I'm sure P6 groans at my mistakes :). On the whole though, things that did NOT work in P4 regularly work on P6. I no longer get the dread "obj not found" error i got constantly or the mid render freeze up and lockup of my whole computer that i did before. Nothing like P4 adding in just a shoe, and everything you just have worked on for hours goes buh bye with that obj error, yeesh. Even with the error, I loved P4, and love P6 even better... Though I'm stupid and still cant figure half of it out :)
Thread: Updated TOS : What happened? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Though this is sad, and none of us like to see anyones art censured, I do understand the premise. Granted, 3d figures are not considered pornography, however, with postwork, and the huge strides of realizm, though a fake figure, its still recognizeable as a human (and very erotic figure) none the less. though I disagree with the TOS, I understand why its there. I do not have to like it. No one does, but, there are real people behind renderosity, that must comply to what they feel is suitable. They are not telling you you cannot do your art. They are only telling you you cannot post it "here". They run it, they finance it, and they moderate it, so unfortunately, but surely, its their disgression. Nothing will stop you from posting your art, in another gallery that accepts that art, or hosting your own gallery page on your own websites. It would only be an injustice if the entirety of the genre of art was banned internet wide. Please note, especially to those who are fairy lovers and painters, you have my sympathy. But all of those who can no longer post art, have my sympathies as well. It is disheartening to be confronted with change you find unfair, as well as no longer being comfortable or able to share your work within a forum you have come to love.
Thread: Yet another lighting question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not sure where it is, but somewhere I found free something called "ultimate fire". it might be in the freebies section, but I dont know. It comes with a candle prop, but you can ignore that and just use the lights. The lights are set up to look like the glow of a fire. I'm sorry I dont remember where I got it though.

Thread: V3 Morph Pack Problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When i first got V3 and the injections, i made the mistake of "cleaning up" my runtime files, and deleted out the !daz files which i thought were extra. I got those same errors. Not sure if you did the same, if its there you might want to try reloading the head and body morph packs.
Thread: Rendering at 300dpi... any success stories? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've had problems rendering in 300dpi in P4, though I have never had five. The only thing that seemed to fix that problem for me in P4 was to render without using Bumpmaps. Several scenes I had to render out by taking one or two things out, then putting them back in and deleting out the main figure... with lots of magicwork to get it all together in photoshop. So far, in P6 I've been able to render up to 1200dpi with no problems.
Thread: Final Call for Community Help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dont give up!!!! Seriously! I'm one of those, that "play" with a program until i figure it out, manuals and even some tutorials leave me in the dust. The problem I find, is those that know the programs well, ROFL, (no offense here guys) use terms I cant understand such as: "Take the cloth into a scene and get it to frame 30". Frame 30? how do i do that? what is a frame? I dont animate..... do i need to? Then is start rippin my hair out. Each aspect has that same degree of "what the heck are they asking me to do? whats that button? Er.. what the heck is XYZ i need to do before I render?". Terminology can be the main problem. At least in my case, I'm sort of dense in knowing what to do, or whats being talked about. I require the ABC elementary school version of explinations (pictures and diagrams like "this thing here stupid") usually helps me ROFL. I just got poser 6, like a foreign language, but i'm taking my time mastering ONE thing at a time. Shade?? Came with it, loaded it, looks chinese to me, lol. Poser 4 took me nearly two years to get the hang of. I just learned with much help MUCH MUCH help, to use the cloth room. Here I post the truly easy man's guide to doing it, in plain language. Should be the same as 5 as for 6. Hopefully this helps more than you, i'm sure there's others like us who are program challenged! Dynamic Cloth the easy way: Open Poser Delete out poser guy Add your figure from figures menu (jessi, vicki, so on) Once figure loads, go to the top menu bar and go to figure-inverse kinetics, and uncheck anything checked. Then, click on your figures body in the scene, anywhere will do. Then go to the top bar, window-joint editor, and click zero pose. Once thats done, load your dynamic clothing into the scene. Once loaded, look at the very bottom of the poser screen, bottom center just above your windows taskbar, you'll see a hump with a squigly thing, click on it, the frames come up. Move slider to 30 Once thats done, select your figure again, and pose her the way you want her/him. Pose, angle, zoom, all that. Finished with the posing (dont worry about the clothing leave it be) go to cloth room. In cloth room, do the same thing, open frames and slide it to thirty. Okay, now click new simulation, and then click "clothify". In clothify, select your dymamic clothing figure. Next, after that box closes, choose "collide against", chose your main figure (vicki whathave you), then go the menu and deslect the last two boxes. Back to the collide window, uncheck drape from zero, and click on ignore and and feet. Finally, click calculate simulation..... and wait. You'll slowly see the figure and clothing move, until it hits frame 30, and voila. Beautifully draped figure. I got these easy instructions from mishmashing information from VERY helpful peeps here on Renderosity and from a tute on RDNA. Hopefully this helps anyone else dyamically challenged! I just KNEW it was easier than it looked!
