gkad you like the pics, diane. Some things on the site are a bit sucky, but it was my first, and I can't be bothered re-doing it. Too much other work. Made a new refl. map and new bumps, and the lamdress looks more like what I want. Am currently trying out tex. maps to put creases in it. It should all be done in a day. Then I need to firure out how to post. Ciao maclean

Hey, diane. Still at it, I see. You're tenacious! I don't have Eyecandy, but I'm sure there's something in Photoshop I can use. Yeah, I need a really small grid: Just have to multiply a map and re-sample it down to size, I guess. The formal's a much bigger map to cover. I want to get it right because if I post it, someone will look at the sides anyway. Might manage it in the next day or two. PS Someone called maclean is in the Italian Alps at 6,000ft because he couldn't take Milan any longer! Came here from Scotland years ago and like it too much to leave. Did fashion and music photography, and am now doing web design (that way I don't have to get off my ss!) Hey, if you like fashion, check out my site (free plug!) http://www.infinito.it/utenti/maclean You might like it. Anyway, someone called maclean is going to bed now! It's 2am here! Goodnight...and thanks maclean (jimmi)

Thanks everyone for the help. I'm getting there. Yes, Nance, I could have used search, but it's amazing the things you find rooting through the Freestuff. moyra, I did some things in Photoshop woth noise and other filters, like chrome, but I want a highly-reflective dress, and a refl. map isn't working. Won't allow me to map a low-cut dress. Will keep trying. diane, I'm a photographer, but no longer have access to any fabrics. Was in fashion in Milan, but moved on to music and have lost my contacts. If you could do textiles I'm sure a lot of people would use them. Anyway, thanks again to all. maclean

Wow, picnic! I'm impressed! It looks really good. I've been trying out a few different things myself since last night, using various suggestions (Big thanks, everyone!) and I'm getting closer to what I want. One of the things that works is from the Freestuff, a txt/trans for a Victoria dress by James, which uses a slightly bizarre technique. A transmap and bump, both just square maps of fine net, which map onto any outfit, with a refl. map for the color. It's a pretty neat solution, but it doesn't allow me to re-map the dress (I want a really low-cut effect, so I'm trying to find a way round that. The pic I'm working from is of a Ralph Lauren outfit with tiny squares on the lamwhich is what I like about it, but tricky to do. Will now go back and try it with yours, picnic, (hope you don't mind!) and see what I get. Lots of thank-yous again to all maclean

Thanks Nance, I finally found the vest tex (after going through a lot of pages). It's amazing what you find! I thought I'd pretty much checked out everything, but there were a couple of other things I'd missed. Will open it up and try it, but it looks good. Dreamspinner, I'd LOVE a digicam but can't afford it. I'm a photographer, so I should be able to do all this stuff. Problem is getting the material itself to shoot. I was thinking on a kind of gold leaf or foil (Also I live in the Italian Alps at 6,000ft so it ain't easy!) There must be a site somewhere that has miscellaneous textures and fabrics. Will try posting the ques. on Computer Arts Forum too. Any info, I'll post it maclean

I think Digital Babes (under top 15 links) has a t.mapped hair tutorial. Yes, hobbits like to eat a lot, so he should be a jolly, round, fat little feller. And they like bright colors too...greens and yellows and reds. Plus, hair on the feet. Good start though maclean

Grook open poser and type 'hair' (no quotes) straight into the keyboard. You'll see the 'treemaker' dialog box and can play with it. (I guess you missed the posts on this 10 days back) Select any body part and click 'create'.....then wait. It's slow and it won't render, but you can use File/Export/Image to get a jpeg. maclean PS If I knew how to upload images, I'd show y'all my 'hairy' catgirl!
