I agree. I'm on DSL and still don't like the big files (impatient? Perhaps...), hence I try to compress mine well. I generally use PSP, and it has a built-in optomizer that'll tell you the filesize before you save, and I shoot for about 180k or less, just because I know what it's like to be on analog. People posting multiple meg .bmps just isn't cool.

Thanks for the responses folks, I may look into getting a Wacom Graphire (found them for $74, so that's pretty reasonable). It seems like it'd be a good one to start with for me. Smallspace, I wasn't planning on using it in Poser, just for post work. ;) Painting is a pain with a mouse, not to mention I suck at it. :) Again, thanks to everyone for your input, it really helps.

This intrigues me. Some of these features actually sound pretty useful (I especially like multiple view windows). I guess I won't worry about the plugins for the time being though, since that requires having that software, and that stuff isn't cheap ya know. Oh well.
Thread: Zone Alarm and Poser 4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'll stick to my opinion that Norton products suck ever since they've made them for 9x, so, phooey on Norton. Anyhow, Poser has no need to access the internet, therefore, don't let it. Technically speaking, it's not (supposed to be) getting out onto the great wide internet, but rather doing a local scan (as in, your LAN), so there's no need to be paranoid really (although believe me, I understand being a little paranoid at first :)). It's just trying to check that you're not installing it everywhere. Save yourself a headache later on and turn all of its access off, as it does not update itself (and in no way, shape, or form do 99% of programs do that). Just cleaning up facts (aside from my mini-rant about Norton crap). :)
Thread: p4 Posette knees | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've not seen one for the knees, but there's a thigh morph that get rids of the bulges (muscles) and that may help out. I don't remember if I got it here or at morph world (or something like that). It's by Jim Burton if that helps.
Thread: Looking for suggestions for getting rid of that "plastic" look. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Been trying out a couple of the things suggested, and with a combination of it all, it's turning out much better. I think the texture I'm using on the body is part of the problem (it's a somewhat light texture), but I'm working around it. Thanks to all you! And wal, ya, that made a big difference. Kicked it up to about 95% and I like the look a lot more. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give that that stuff a whirl later and see how things turn out. Gotta take a final first though. Thanks again! :)

Forgot to say that I'm not looking for something that'll make everything look "real," but rather just want to reduce the plasticity (or would that be plasticness?) of the images without having to do a ton of post work. Some is fine, but not a ton (for both post work and plastic).
Thread: Finally completed!!! What do you think??? | Forum: Bryce
That's pretty good stuff there. But what has me more taken than anything else is 35 hours to render. That's obscene! I get angry when it takes 6 or 7 minutes to render (albeit in Poser)! What's your system hardware?
Thread: Textures and transparency | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's an actual transmap, but by pseudo I meant that I used a mesh so that it wasn't entirely transparent (the heart I mean). I thought it'd look better than a big ol' heart-shaped hole there. ;) Now I'm working on a texture for the shirt to get it to look less um...blah. Right now I have the heart appearing red while the rest of the shirt is whatever color you want. I'll be adding a border to the heart I think (just to see...) and then I'm going to go back and fix my miniskirt transmaps. Plus I'm working on something that marginally resembles a cut-off tanktop (with the bottom of it being frayed). I hope these come out okay, cuz if they do, I'll post them in case anyone wants them. Damn, and I thought just posing was addictive...damn textures. :)
