I scale each limb individually and then symetry over to the other side rather than scaling the body as a whole. I also use taper and Poser 4 Hero Morphs set negative to smooth definition. Ultimately there are problems with the element joins "bending" if you over-scale rather than using magnets. But Traveler has a great HeavyFem Body at Morph World (linked side bar here) though I think I need to work on the neck of it a little. I would have bought the damn Zygote heavy Man and Heavy Woman if they were nude and had P3 or P4 geometry! Show us your stuff!

That's what point of my whole download page. I have weak chins and jaws, big ethnic noses, eyes small and wide set etc. For the bodyies I rarely have Yscale over 85% and often have Xscale and Zscale at 110% or 115%. I use magnets to downscale te jaw etc. My old man and old woman sets started just as middle aged paunch at .5 but get pretty aged by 1.0 on the morph dial. I have a cute young woman's paunch I use that I'll upload too if your interested, the pregnancy morph I have up might work low for that, I haven't tried it that way. I even bought Zygotes morph hair precily cause it looked so doofy. Check the art gallery for my vera picture, she is very beautifull artist friend of mine but she is a multiple amputee. My morph downloads are at http://pages.hotbot.com/arts/momodot/. I would love to see more of what I call non-Holywood figures when sending to my friends. Please post your work!

Thanks, you guys are being so nice. But I do hope to spark a dialog if there is a difference of opinion, I see so much hyper-realism and hust occasionally some Photoshop Filter work, but I did buy Poser as an artist's "lay figure" as the old fancy manikins were called and originally intened to paint over all my images until I discovered how seductive the Photo Realism is. And as for what art work by others I see around, even anime charecters are usually rendered in a photographic style, I don't see people who paint over their stuff posting or having sites. It was nice seeing the Poser 1 Batman cartoon post here a couple days ago. But I'm wondering if there is some philosophical position, like between sharp focus full negative photographers and photographers who use soft focus and manipulate in printing etc. Anyway, thank you guys for the encouragement. It means a lot to me actually. The "brush" picture was painted over a Poser render in Metacreations Painter 5 but there was no auto-cloning or essoteric filters or anything so I might as well have done it in Photoshop or any other program. I know I haven't got anything decent out of Sketch Designer despite the fact that the Sketch Designer hype was a very large part of why I decided to upgrade (my models mostly don't wear clothes anyway). If you want to try tracing a Poser image open it in photoshop, desaturate it, boost the contrast, make a white layer over it set temporarily set that to say 90% opacity screen mode or lighten mode so you can see the poser image under it, trace at magnification using the smallest soft brush, the brush will reveal the black from the original image but will "run dry" and not mark areas that were white in the original image, when done tracing bring the layer opacity to 100% screen mode or lighten mode and flatten the image. Now use levels to adjust your drawing, now duplicate your drawing to a new layer, now when you paint on the bacground or any layer beneath your drawing it will be preserved like an animation cell painted from behind... though you can smudge it into the drawing where you like. I have done good drawings this way even with a trackball. Well enough for my lecture, please give more comments about camera and/or brush!

I like it! Somehow it makes me think of an inflated ballon, something about the tension of the surface caused by the soft blue glow. The two colors work nice too. Nice cartoon quality but then the eyes look dimensional and soulfull. Bravo.

GoM Cool. Thanks. As it stands now uploading to Free Stuff requires you have your own site somewhere to first upload your stuff to, and then back here you simply fill out a form which includes the URL of the file and the thumbnail image. Roy has a list of free site hosts at http://www.renderosity.com/index.ez?viewStory=166 and the list is followed by comments on specific sites by different people. If you don't have a site to upload the texture to, I can upload it my site if you e-mail it to me and indicate how you want it credited etc.

Hi Ghostofmacbeth ...can I call you Beth? ;) or Mac? Ugh! my real life got too busy lately... move to Toronto in a few weeks. I tried "pagingng" you but my browser has lotsa problems with the forum scripts unfortunately. Where can I get your hair texture? Are you gonna put it up in Free Stuff? Big thank you for taking the hair texture on. Thank you Imack, I hope the morph/texture works for you. I had to move my files to an old 5M site at Angelfire when I topped out my 5M at Hotbot. Angelfire turns out to be a little funny about the downloads. Ugh... I don't really want to have to ultimately move my whole site from Hotbot to a new host but 5M doesn't go far these days. momodot
Thread: Creating Texture Templates for Poser 4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure what you are asking. Poser 4 now takes image files in whatever format (TIF, BMP, JPG) so you can convert the texture files format in a seperate image software or not. I paste things from map to map by cutting, sizing, positioning with opacity reduced, and finally pasting (usually in darken mode if not default mode at full opacity). This way you can also just take scanned imagery (magazine etc) and place them where you like on the standard default texture which you then save under a new name and load in Render/Materials. If you want to create an entirely new template with elements mapped diferently than on the standard templates you use UVmapper. There is also a cool thread going a couple pages back about using "make perspective map" to place poly groups on UVmaps in nonstandard configurations (to shift seams etc.), this also uses Cox's UVmapper.
Thread: Poser4 posts. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah. Some of the stuff I have download has asked for esoteric textures and bump maps not even for the whole figure but for groups which aren't even on the standard UV templates. Still, its nice people upload stuff at all :) My other beef is when people provide things like a single nose morph imbeded in a whole figure rather than seperated out as an MT. Still, don't look a gift horse in the mouth right? pax.
Thread: Painter 3D Hell! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks. The Paintrer 3D has been running fine now so long as I only use .OBJs from the Runtime/Geometries folder and remeber to flip the UVmap. I apreciate you mentioning the "hand tool" rather than assuming it was just plain obvious, sometimes its hard to see whats right before your eyes when the programs have literally hundreds of features, I apreciate someone willing to point it out to me without being frustrated by needing to. What had been confusing me with the .p3d figures was how the "virtual trackball" seemed to be "translating" like the hand tool until I realized this strange thing of the model being attached to the invisable "imense sphere". Now with the good .OBJs the trackbal etc and the painting over the seams on the sides of the head has gone nearly perfectly but when I brush over the seam at the top of the crown the brush swoops in circles around the crown rather than back and forth across the seam... I have accomodated this by painting back to the seam from the front and forward to the seam from the back. Still I have not been able to load UVmaps for objects exported from Poser rather than from the Runtimes/Geometry folder. Anyhow, I uploaded the morph hair project to Free Stuff at 2AM last night with the maps as they were (already like 160 downloads! yikes the responsibility). Anyway, Ghostofmacbeth is close to done with his P4 map for the hair morphs. :)
Thread: Painter 3D Hell! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah. I get XX under the acquire menu too... I just tried each until I determned the last was .obj I found the zoom in and out but not how to dolly on the x or y axis to get my fure back in view after she spins off on this enormous invisable sphere surface... if I start with her face centered and try to get a view of the left side of her head she spins off to the far upper right and her whole body is the size of a dime... if I zoom in I'm zooming into the empty space at the center of the "great sphere"... I only found she was spinning off into space by minus zooming out a few orders. *Cured When I import head or figure directly from the Poser Geometies Folder they behave fine (no enormous sphere etc) and real fast compared to when I opened them from the P4 Folder that came with Painter 3D. The mapping is fine if I load P3 map for head only and P4 map for P4 figure and remeber to flip the map upsidedown (and flip it again on the way out). It was the damn files they packaged Painter 3D with which were the problem. Still though, If I load a morphed figure I exported from Poser, Painter 3D won't let me choose UV (implicit) mapping when I try to load in the Metacreations P3 texture, so its no go trying to stay in the Metacreations templates painting on morphed figures... why I wonder? This I don't like so much, but I guess I can live with. Thanks : )
Thread: Create perspective UVs - Very basic visual tutorial | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow. Great tutorial, thank you. May help with my scheme of putting hairdos on the body texture maps. I've done morphs for the texture rather than bump maps, i'll load to Free Stuff as soon as I get a map from Ghostofmacbeth... so far my own maps are awefull because I can't line up the seams properly. This "visual" tutorial is really easy to grasp.
Thread: Hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
These are simple morphs to the head that go with a texture map (I also intend to take Macbeth's P4 map when its ready and cut and paste it to P3). No transmap is needed, wouldn't work actually since the hair and head are one piece. Thanks.

Thanks for the support. Yikes, a wife like that! The sexy eyebrows too? Ghostofmacbeth gives ETA for texture map as tomorow evening. hit http://pages.hotbot.com/arts/momodot/ for some face morphs and show us more exactly what this woman actually looks like!
