Just for clarification, Pro Pack's Viewpoint exporter is the enabler for Avatars in Atmosphere Worlds. We don't have an "Atmosphere exporter" Gee- did it really come off as whining? bummer.... BTW check out the free PPP Cinema 4D plug-in- www.curiouslabs.com Steve Cooper Head Whiner Curious LabsThread: SR3 is back online | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ken, I would recommend not using the older SR3 if you need to do a re-install and update of Pro Pack. In that case, you should work with the newest SR3. Steve Cooper BTW, nice work on the room. You'll move a lot of those.

Bloodsong, Without going into details, you are correct as to why SR3 was removed. A revised version of the updater is almost ready for release. Cooper

Scott, My skin's pretty thick these days, no worries on my end about comments. It's all "feedback" if we keep the right perspective. Turns out we fumbled the reg page on our end a little bit. Our web designer didn't pass it through QA before going live. I'm always the last to know these things...oh well. :-) Steve CooperThread: Registration time at Curious Labs! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

One other quick comment- We will be eliminating the need for information on the second address line later today. Steve CooperThread: Registration time at Curious Labs! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

A quick couple of comments- 1. The registration information we received from MetaCreations was very incomplete. So many people have contactd us in the past that had registered Poser with Meta yet they still don't show up in our records- a bad thing if you want to get replacement CDs for instance, because yours got scratched. So, re-registering is a good thing if you think it's valuable to a part of our records for follow-up at a later date. 2. If we don't have a way to get in touch with you, how can we let you know about future versions being available? Maybe you get everything you ever need from Renderosity, but if something should change down the road, the only sure way I can think of is for us to be able to get in touch with you. If you don't want that to happen, that's okay. But without giving you a way to be on our list, it's a sure thing that we can never get directly in touch with you. 3. You'll never have to be registered to get an upgrade. As long as you have a valid serial number, you'll qualify for upgrades. 4. Netscape issues? It shouldn't happen. We're checking into it. 5. Rejected PPP serial numbers? That should be fixed. 6. Other countries? That should be fixed as well. 7. Will we sell this information? No. It doesn't help us to have you spammed by a bunch of other folks. You'll ignore OUR communications. The only way this information has any value as a communication tool to us is if we protect it, and don't ever wear out our welcome in your IN BOX. And if you don't want us to ever send you anything, we'll be adding a privacy note and a check box that states that you don't want to hear from us. 8. My favorite one- it's not really a post from Curious or Cooper. I won't even go near that one. :-) Sincerly, Steve Cooper Curious LabsThread: Important Information from Curious Labs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
We do not plan on incorporating the Pro Pack hosting plug-ins and exporters into future versions of Poser. And the next version of Poser will be quite advanced feature-wise. Any features in Pro Pack will be modest in comparison to that future offering. I don't know if that's much help with deciding whether to purchase or not. However, we've always acknowledged that Pro Pack isn't for every user. It's targeted to a specific group of users. If you work with Max, Lightwave or other 3D applications that either now or in the future will incorporate Poser figures, you will need Pro Pack. Steve Cooper Curious Labs

hauksdottir, Are you attending Siggraph? We're throwing a party with Rhythm & Hues (Cats & Dogs, Babe, Planet of the Apes- there's a theme for ya) on Monday the 13th and having a gallery exhibit with press of community artwork on Wednesday in our booth- 713 I'm open to a SF party, we can probably drag a few Curious Lab rats along and show some of the latest work... It may be worthwhile checking to see if other versions of the .ARP files exist on your machine, as in Painter 3D. Often the plug-in load issues arise from Poser referencing these historic Painter 3D based .ARPs. Steve CooperThread: What's the latest word on Poser to Maya conversion? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

nitreug, I spoke with Anthony at length today about your problem related to importer dlls. It sounds like you and Anthony exchanged a large volume of emails and didn't quite solve your issues ultimately. Anthony would like to speak further with you, he was under the impression that his last suggestions to you worked as he didn't hear a reply back. He will follow up in this thread. Charly, We will be making some great announcements about the availability of French and German versions of Pro Pack in the next few weeks. When we first pitched the story to Michel from the NY Times back in February, I predicted that with the threatrical release of Shrek and ultimately Final Fantasy, there would be a huge groundswell and mainstreaming of character animation. And with Final Fantasy, a remarkable new level of digital characters would be revealed. The Poser community has creating characters and textures, hair props and posesets of this magnitude on their desktops, but all for the relatively small world we co-exist in, it's only right that the rest of the world finds out about it. Congratulations to all the great artists that were mentioned in the story. We're proud of you all. Sincerely, Steve Cooper Curious Labs ps- maybe next time they'll actually put our url somewhere in the feature...Thread: Curious | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This thread is a great read. We've done some marketing surveys but don't have a hint as to your ages. Not that this thread will be filtered into some market survey... but it is interesting stuff. I certainly would have guessed you all were younger For reference, I'm oldest member of Curious Labs and Egisys. And I get that honor for being the ripe old age of 43. Steve Cooper Curious Labs
