Well, here goes my features requests or possible desires of Poser hoping to be fulfilled.
Hair particle system like blender. I have played around with this in Blender 2.7 and wow it is easier to style the hair than posers hair room. WAY easier, you don't have to select de select the hairs back and forth. It works more like a comb or brush. Plus it renders great. I would love to see this improvement in the hair room, Blender's UI for hair particles is quite intense but if the poser and blender settings met at a happy medium wiyhout it defeating the quality then it would gain more play in my renders.
64 bit for the standard Poser not just for the Pro version.
maybe some kind of magnet technique to where if one obj collides into another the static obj deforms around the area using a subdivide on the area of effect to get it to kind of shrinkwrap in that area where the collision is taking place. For example, You have a framed portrait, you set the portrait group to target A which will deform in a shrinkwrapping way to say the hand of V4 which is set to target b so when the hand collides through the portrait the portrait obj has a dynamic effect shrinkwrapping to the hand, but the other areas of the portrait stay constrained until collided with by the other target. This would be great for portal effects as well, like say a stargate portal. I have tried this with dynamic cloth and it doesn't work to well even setting the settings to keep the shape, and with force objects. Maybe this can be done easily already but I have not found a way to do this without resculpting the models in other aps, or am too ignorant to get it properly done right.
Maybe changing the face room to have the option to sculpt faces of the model you have loaded, say it automatically loads the head group into the editor of any figure you have loaded in the scene, and give some tools which can shape the face, in a sculpting format. Doesn't have to be expansive like Blender or Z Brush, maybe with an option to load your own brush and set your strength values accordingly like the morph brushes.
Mesh Lighting, I have only played with this a bit with Reality3, since Lux Render takes forever to render, and I haven't obtained realistic results, but some amazing renders I have seen on Deviant Art which use the mesh lighting as their only lighting source.Plus the possibilities could be endless if the mesh lighting could take to any form of obj. For example I create a curved prim in wings which has 8 faces and it reflects the light evenly. That is a thought but am unsure if that would work or not.
Ragdoll preset key for the model you have loaded for Poser Physics, which applies to the selected figure a ragdoll like form that can be dropped and flow with environment settings such as gravity ect.
That is about all I can think of that would blow my mind away. Just my 6 cents.

my mention of runtime was meant for the question the op posted, sorry if I confused you, it wasn't meant to set up the subfolders in the runtime folder.
Poser Content Installed/Hair/runtime
Poser Content Installed/Characters V4/runtime
Poser Content Installed/Poses/runtime
Thread: A few rookie questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As for runtime, what I do is make a folder called somethign like Poser Content Installed, then I make other sub folders, hair, v4 characters, v4 clothing, poses, props ect. then iinstall the content in the proper area, then go into poser and load the runtimes via the add runtime tab on the content window, that way I have it seperated into areas so i can easily get to what I am looking for.
I generally put them in my hard drive away froom the my settings or desktop, but that may be different with each user, it is just what works for me, but I am also using Poser 10, so there might be need for those areas, that I am unaware of.
As for the morphs bat file, it can be found in your V4 content area where installed they have to be loaded in order for them to work, if you are loading v4 from the new daz zip format, just learned that bit last night myself. I truely understand that frustration first hand.
the file isin the !Daz folder called. , DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat
See above to answer the dials question, I had to run the batch file to get morphs ++ to work as they did from the natural V4 installer from Daz past.
Face room I beleive is different than the parameter morphs again, idk for sure since I run 10 and not pro. but I think it would be the same. but the face room is more considerably to be used for the Poser figures instead of 3rd party ones. from my understanding of it, but I have only played with the face room once in version 7.
All is good on the questions it is how we learn after all.
Thread: Smith Micro/Dawn connection | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry, don't trust Hivewire. Sure great Dawn another character, great, created by the originator of V4, great. But when you hold a contest that people bust their ass off to get the limit of entries on time then extend the contest the same amount of time that the contest originally ran, because a few people griped about wanting to use a morph pack that was in development, that was supose to be part of the prize pack for winning the contest. And then when vocal about it, get pretty much treated as a troll because I voiced discontent over the fact they would pull a stunt like so. I could have understood a few days to a week for an extention, but the whole length of the contest was ridiculous. So honestly, if they can't keep their word on a contest, and give only a reasoning as people wanted to use a pack which was intended for a prize in the contest, and lack of entries, wait, "quality entries"I don't feel they can keep their word on the models they produce. Just my experience with them, and quite frankly my last with them, regardless they dawn the Sir Lancelot gimick or not.

Thread: Content or Software? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Software Development.
They do offer some good figures, maybe not as good as others in some opinions, but you can go to other places for the content. There is a larger content creator ratio to developers. So in this I would have to lean to software. Why? If they took their time creating a better figure to play with or compete with another other features such as a better hair room, or faster rendering specs might get ignored. Unless they were investing in figures, I would think it would harm the output of their program than help.
I would rather have new features and work with the same figures, than have the same figures but some awesome figure which will be outdated by the release of another figure with the same tech. eventually.
Thread: OT- Do you still listen to radio? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As for local radio, NO. Internet Radio however we have our own station I dj at, which is usually what we have on. Sometimes when modelling out stuff I will pop in a Manson cd, for some reason I can really model to a paticular album by him, Mechanical Animals. News... hard to tell since most of it is opinionated brainwashing. But it is a wide internet and usually something decent shows up now and then. But few and far between. Canned the cable so tv is not an option for news or weather. Do however keep a look upon weather channel online, and have a weather radio.
So to answer your question in my form, I don't particularly have time for modern stations since they don't play anything remotely to my tastes. However, a radio station which did, but I am not living near anymore I wouldn't miss the shows if I could listen to them. But you take that out of the equation I would ratther watch paint dry. I did like morning shows, Lex And Terry outta Tampa was fun. Howard Stern sometimes if I was in mood for it.
Thread: (dead horse warning) Snobbery against Poser (and DS) users | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find it quite hillarious when I see one of "elitist" art is only painting and not digital people crawl out of the woodwork. My reply is how is placing one's own keyster (usually with more colorful language in tact) in paint, and spreading their cheeks upon a canvas considered art. A few lines here with a brush, hand print there, and voila something just as equal to a Vincent Van Gough. 9 times out of 10, it is a troll or someone ticked off because they have ego beyond their artistic capacity, which craves for attention their art isn't getting.
Same could be said some within the 3d community as well which gripe about using high end vs free to source apps to create content. As well as vendors which get all uptight when I pick their brains as to how to do something they have done with other means than they have used.
As for other medias, music, I am quite fond of the electronica, aggrotech, industrial, symphonic black metal ect. I am a dj, and have been since I was 16. I love it when the old skool dj's which have a beef, simular to the art vs digital, about mixing with gear excluding laptops, mp3 vs programming through programs like Magix ect. As I can say from my experience with electronica bands which I befriended over the years they are more talented than some of the bands which fart on a couple snare drums, and play only 3 or 4 power chords on their guitar, with vocals that would make the sanest person reach for a sledgehammer. But oddly enough they are the ones with a record deal, where as the other band with talent does their music and are barely noticed.
I do understand though the claim where it took a person years to learn to play an instrument, or years of school to draw that perfect line. But I also understand that with new technology comes ease of learning, and ease of applying artificial to equal in quality of that which is learned meticulously in the old ways. But I feel as it is the view that by condemning the new ways as heretic to the old is a fear responce since those which are of the newer age can easily equal up to what took years to learn in the fields infant state, become many, and possibly dethrone the pioneers which have made their mark as well as fortunes based on what they started with, tend to get ansy when their fortunes become less because of flooded markets and outdated with new fangled technology their brains can't wrap around if they live to far in the past. The new becomes old, and the old hang on to their exsistence for fear of being lost in the sea of infinity. As often many people do forget where they came from...
Which through writting this responce which started off as a Oh I know what you mean here is my experience, has given myself more validation and meaning as in the recent weeks worth of work on my geneology. So OP I thank you for opening that door to the thoughts you have inspired from this dead horse, no which lays ressurected in my minds.
These are just my opinions, though, I was never here nor there but just an observer watching, laughing in the rafters...

Thread: WMV4 This Might be Ignorant but... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks all for the help. I did manage to figure out what happened, after seing an issue for something else. Evidently I had the PMD option checked in the properties area. and when it saved it I guess it screwed up because of that.
Esther: Thanks for the link to the AS WMV4 I have played with it and does hold nicely with clothing. Was finally able to get the Suspender stockings to work well with a couple of extreme poses which racked my brain with Perfect Complete V4.
ShvrDavid:As for the pose temp folder option I beleive it is there, not sure on it's location to turn it on, but if it is in the preferences all I got is a folder location along with options to reset the folder.
WandW: I get that, I had it loaded so it wouldn't alter the original file, wasn't sure how the script worked 100%, The external drive is my wife's content folder, and by utilizing that after the before mentioned problem I can see your valisation of how Poser uses the search and grind out function. Thanks. I am use to multiple copies of content, from modeling stuff and disecting things in Poser, when I feel the need to try and enhance what i have, LOL. Problem is usually it fails terribly.
