QUOTE: "also on that note - are you a tester? because i cant find your name on my list that i've sold Jolinari to? unless you use another name when purchasing.....?
Jolinari is mine and i'm quite proud of her.
thanks again!!"
This was really mean spirited. She stated in her post that she was using your promo pics. You basically accused her of Warez.
Also, I thought vendors were on a pretty close one to one basis with their testers. Do you jot down names when going through the gallery, and IM the ones you think aren't legally using your products, too?
Thread: After new thumbnail policy: difference in hit counts? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
People don't much look at critters....even though they're nekkid. I posted to zbrush gallery this morning, instead of the lw gallery. I don't think many go to the lw forum at all.

Unless you are suggesting da Vincis "Man of Vitruvio", which has just been banned from this site, is a pinup.
Well, he could think of it as "beefcake", and, put it there. Or....he'd have to go through the trouble of making a seperate thumb.
What's the difference between "pinups" and "fantasy"?
Thread: New Thumbnail Policy - Please read | Forum: Community Center
basically you are saying that I have to do 2 pictures instead of just 1 straight render.
dlblue.....I have nudes in the gallery. Yet, most of my thumbs do not show the nudity (out of long time respect for others just browsing.....NO RULE....courtesy.) Try cropping around the eyes. If you can achieve a good facial expression in your render....ie, no vacant stare.....eyes can attract quite well. It is not creating another render for the thumb...simply cropping it.
I understand that folks are angry. In a great part, I feel because there ARE those loathsome folks who complain about this, that, and the other in the galleries, and, often keep nagging until they get their way. I certainly hope those folks are prepared to make some awesome renders to take up the slack of all who may leave over this.
I like the new rule, since I've been following it for a long time. I still think a Pinup only gallery....(all software) could have nudes, and would cut down on some of the Posers rendered in other modelling apps, posted to, errrr.....say....the Lightwave gallery, and so annoying to the modellers, etc. I think this is a really good solution. You know if you go to the pinup gallery you will be viewing nude thumbs....the other galleries, no.

"No Sexually Suggestive Language or "Censored" language/images"
Not hard, folks. There was an image titled "See Vicki's dirty pussy", a few years back. To this day I still find that title offensive. I would think something along those lines....and, yes, it was a pic of a cat.

I like the new rule. Maybe, this place will become less of a joke in the CG world. I agree that this will (hopefully) make the gallery appear to be more professional. As it stands, so many here claim to be "Pin Up" artists. Okay, good enough. Since folks don't like the idea of a "nude" or "non nude" gallery, and since "Pin Ups" comprise so much of the Poser gallery....Why not a "Pin Up" gallery? And that gallery could have the thumbs they want.
Without all the tits stealing attention, I am really hoping folks click on some dragons and such. Maybe even folks will venture into some of the non Poser galleries. Everyone knows that "tits get hits"....been a mantra around here for a long time. I think that saying....I use huge boobs in my thumbnails....not to get hits, but, because that is what best portrays the mood of my image"...is a crock. Plain and simple.
Thanks for the change.
Pop...Pop...Poppi!!! (She who hasn't "popped" here for a long, long time.)

It took me about 90 hours, working sporadically, to complete the characters, and background prop for this scene. That includes texturing and rigging as well. (but, I'm not very fast.)Thread: Favourite Modelling app for Poser? Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Lightwave is very good. I use it. It can export in .obj format straight to Poser. I don't think you have to faff. I guess it all depends on which app you are most comfortable with. I tried to learn max and had to force myself to work on it. Lightwave, I was up and running right away.

The only problem is how do I make the Lens reflective. I wish I had a texture artist to lend a hand.
Saw this at the LW Forum, as well. Why not add a cornea? What I do is simply copy the eyeball to another layer, make it uniformly smaller, keep it labelled as eyeball...cut it and paste into the figure layer, click on the larger version, select all that mesh and control q, label as lcornea, etc.. Then, pick out a nice reflective glass material.

One question though, can zbrush export texture maps and displacement maps for poser....
Yup, and for some reason it's easier to use a zbrush displacement map in Poser than it is in Lightwave. I was having a hella time using my displacement map in lw, then for the heck of it ran the same figure and displacement map in poser and it worked like a charm. (Something I don't get in the node system in LW9, no doubt.)
Thread: Anyone thinking of getting Mudbox? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'll probably get it one of these days, but, I did bother to learn zbrush (tooki a long time, too), and doubt that I'll dump that anytime soon.
Thread: Remapped V4 for Displacement Painting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poppi, I'm not real familiar with tiling inside UVMapper (or Lightwave), but you could just add "1.0" to each, instead of 100. Adding 1.0 is equivilant to bumping it over into the next tile. Then you'd add 2.0 for the next one, then 3.0, etc if you wanted them strung out to the right.
yes, that's the same thing...but in lw you type in 100 instead of 1...sorry i wasn't clear. i was trying to multitasik
Thread: Remapped V4 for Displacement Painting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You could remap her parts in layers, and, offset by say 100 for each part. You'd get a long uv that uvmapper wouldn't take, though....but, you'd have the uvs for use in zbrush. (I've done this for a lightwave dragon i made. i wasn't happy though, as i couldn't get many details like that.

I think she's pretty. This weekend, when I'm more used to her, I'm gonna drag her into zbrush and see what I can do with some of my own morphs. Still, though, she is just pretty. Vicky from the box didn't appeal to me, and, had so many morphs that it was like piloting a jet plane. This one seems simpler, more down to earth.
