Thread: HOW rendering for A-4 format in DPI 300 ??? | Forum: Vue
It's probably memory issue. I would shut down as many background programs as possible.
I've noticed that if the camera is set to 90° increment, the render will show a black line down the center. A 90.05° rotation increment will remove the line.

You can read about the eraser tool in the overview manual (F1). In depth ecosystem painter coverage starts on page 222.

Thread: * * * Vue forum in 2007 ... opinions and ideas please * * * | Forum: Vue
I have this idea for improving the Terrain Editor. I call it "Scene Projection".  This would be an toggle-option where the user could choose to show the scene's objects inside the Terrain Editor's preview window.
E-onsoftware would have to work out the level-of-detail issues around displaying the scene inside the Terrain Editor, but I think this idea is feasible. Also, the Scene Projection objects would not be interactive inside the Terrain Editor.
It would be a bonus if the Terrain Editor's window was re-sizable as well.

Thread: Text Editor Problem | Forum: Vue
Hi,
I typed in "testing" after selecting "Vue 6". Then I clicked OK. I was unable to find a double-space in the text object. I am running Vue 6i, build 288741.

Thread: Fire GL | Forum: Vue
My question is: "How many threads/processes can the Vue 6 render-engine run concurrently?". With Vue 6, I'm pretty sure a four-core processor will cut a duel-core render time in nearly half. True, anyone?

Thread: Can Vue actually make non-grainy renders? | Forum: Vue
Well, you are right about the grainy renders. There are many. People don't want to spend the render time. My solution is to use custom user-settings. I like to boost the threshold-quality to 100% and set the max sub-rays to at least 12 (more is better). I also like to set the advanced quality percent to high percent (100% works nice). The only problem is that render time goes from hours to days. My latest render is over 100 hours (a screen size render with global-radiosity, HDRI, everything is reflective).

Thread: Black display? | Forum: Vue
Well, there's a 'Load interface presets' button in the 'File menu / Options menu item / General Preferences' window. However, there doesn't seem to be any interfaces shipping with my version. Also, there's no browse button in this load interface dialog, so the interface presets must be in some predisposed location. IMHO, this load interface colors looks like a WIP.
You can customize interface colors by choosing interface colors for various Vue 6 interface objects. The choose button is next to the 'Load interface colors' button. I'm not sure where the interface colors are saved. I believe they're saved in a configuration file.

If the anti-aliasing is turned off for the background material, then foreground material will not have anti-aliasing where the two materials connect.

Thread: Final Verdict Vue 6? | Forum: Vue
e-onsoftware is on the right track. There are lots of improvements everywhere you look in the program. It's still a little rough in some places.

Okay, I put the rice papers up on my art-hobby website. I have posted two materials. One material is translucent and the other is not. It took alot of tweaking to get the backlight and transparency to look half way decent. So, warangel, I enjoyed your challenge. Thanks for sharing. :)
