I strongly recommend Blender. The rendering engine and online support have been greatly improved lately. Did buy the manual when I first got my hands on it a couple years ago, which helped a lot.

You can also do a color read on her skin tones, I think the 2nd from the left at the top has the most consistency, and match the texture accordingly by playing with the RGB channels.

Include the bump map. Since it's only b/w you can really compress it, to keep the download size more reasonable. In P5 of course you could just link from the original texture to the bump channel and set the dial to whatever level looks best.
