I don't know. I went back to review what was changed in SR3 and it stated that clothes could now take on (or not if you wanted) the scaling of the figure. The poke through doesn't seem to be related to that though. At least I don't think so.
And these are not scenes I'm loading. The shirt was so difficult to conform that I saved figure wearing it. I guess I'll have to do it again in Poser 8 and Pro.
Thread: Downloading OBJ files into Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Use the import function for OBJ's. As Laurie said, those OBJ's in the Geometries folder are the base meshes for your figures. However, if you've downloaded an OBJ or converted an object to an OBJ, the way to get it into Poser is to import.

Duh!
And I know that, which is why I was very careful to buy Poser Pro 2010 and not something else. But sometimes you just don't see something, ya know? My bad.
Thanks!
Thread: GAH! Help! Any program that'll read old CDs that may have gone bad? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know of any programs that will do that, but I know there are data recovery services that can probably extract your files. They are very expensive.

I didn't scale the bones, but I scaled the head. Is that the same thing? I know what bones are. Funny though...I've conformed clothes to highly morphed characters and they fit fine as long as I remember to duplicate the scaling changes of the body and/or body parts. Of course transferring morphs and the use of magnets sometimes comes into play, but there's usually no problem with the clothes just conforming and staying conformed when the figure is posed. That's why I thought this case was so unusual.

Oh my gosh! That was it!
I checked the dimensions of the texture map and transparency maps and found that they were indeed different sizes. So I made a copy of the texture map to match the dimensions of the transparency maps, reloaded the textures, and all was well.
I saved the figure, launched Poser 8, and loaded the figure. Everything looks fine there too.
I am running Poser 7 version 7.0.4.220 and Poser 8 version 8.0.3.11793
I thought I'd loaded all the updates. Have I?
In any case, thanks to all for your help.

But that's what I said. That's the problem. They are different. Some of the layers are showing the texture map in the transparency map and I can't get it out of there.
> Quote - One workaround is to change the display style for the hair under display and element.
Weirder still. The attached image shows the hair as Smooth Shaded. As you can see, it doesn't show up at all. I tried changing it to other styles and they displayed properly. Just by chance, I decided to go and look in the material room and guess what? All the transparency maps were now showing in the right place. The texture map was no longer in the space for the transparency map. So I decided to switch the hair's display style back to Texture Shaded to see if things were now correct. As soon as I did that, the texture map popped right back into the transparency space and I was back where i started.

Only one layer became more visible. The rest stayed semitransparent. Weird, huh?

Thread: OT - Do you remember life before Poser?...... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I remember. Still in the attic are pads and pads of sketch paper and tracing paper from the art store. Remember those? I used to trace things, not to copy them, but to get a feel for the foreshortening and perspective, and it was all moot. I just do not have a brain that can manipulate a shape in 3D and put it down on paper. Buildings and landscapes I can do. Color and composition I can do. But the human figure eluded me. I needed some kind of model I could move myself.
So one day I received a software catalog and inside was an ad for Poser. I immediately wrote a check (there was no PayPal then, or online banking) and headed out the door to mail the order form. On my way out, I found that day's mail and lo and behold inside was yet another software catalog from the same company, only this issue announced the debut of Poser 2!
Only a few weeks before, I received a gift of Bryce 2 from my brother. Before Bryce and Poser, my computer was used solely as a glorified word processor which I turned on maybe twice a week. Now I practically live in front of my computer.

I use V2 and V3. Never downloaded V4. By the time I amass a whole new wardrobe for her, V5 would make her debut. Between magnets, the morphing tool, Wardrobe Wizard, and Photoshop for postwork, I can do anything with my girls.

That was it. Thank you very much everyone. Only some of the bodyparts were set like that. Don't know how they got changed. Thanks again.
