Thread: Scaling point confusion | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Both solutions work beautifully. Like they say, there's more than one way to skin a cat. I knew the fix had to be simple, but this one was TWO simple! :O) Thanks again.

No joints on the prop. But Dr. Geep's postings solved my problem. Go to show origin in objects properties and then zero out the translation dials. Thanks Doc :O)
Thread: what do people actually do in photoshop and stuff? (postwork...) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think you'll find pre-work in your photo app, on texture maps, to be an even more effective way of getting better results from Poser. Start monkeying around and having fun. :O)
Thread: Focal Length and face distortion | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Who would go looking for tutorials at DAZ? At least they didn't charge $10 to download the PDF file of the tute. MGs illustrations of the concepts are vastly superior.

I looked at some of your stuff, and you're not getting the out of focus problem because your characters are, for the most part, butt-up against the backdrops, but they do flatten out. I thought Guardian was as it was downloading, until I got to the goat's legs. Then I saw the figure was 6-8 Poser feet from the backdrop. I'm talking about scenes much wider, with multiple characters, 10-20 feet from the backdrop. If you still have the Aria's dream file, try re-rendering with a 35 or even a 25 focal length. I think you'll see what I mean.

It all depends on the kind of shot you're looking to make. If it's a close-up, higher is better. But if you keep that high focal length for a wide shot with a few characters, your picture is going to flatten out and background textures will be out of focus.

$$$$ for one posable mesh + $$$$ for a morph pack for the face + $$$$ for a morph pack for the body + $$$$ for body textures + $$$$ for face textures + $$$$ for hair + $$$$ for conforming clothes = YOU'RE BETTER OFF BUYING P5! Do the math. It's cheaper and you can do a hell of a lot more with it.

Just resize and edit the joint parameters on the P4 suit. It will fit like a glove. You can do that with any conforming clothes.

Clothify works fine for a figure or two, but if you want more in a scene you need to be able to convert clothified .objs to conforming figures. As far as politics goes, it's all sales. CL developed the app, but has a bad rep. DAZ developed . . . . . .????? But has a great rep. . . . . .???? They developed meshes. . . . .???
Thread: Poser 5 crash problems solved???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My freezes have shown plenty of available MEM on freeze. The saves have been elsewhere, but the app has saved me.

Who's playing politics and who's playing for profit? The whole Poser 5 app is a couple hundred bucks, give or take, upgrade or new purchase. The only money I ever feel I wasted on 3D is for a Mike package I bought for $20 from DAZ. I never used it. P5 came out. The genius of Bill Gates is he figured thar there was more money to be made by building software rather than hardware. DAZ is making more money by making support products for software that is for people too lazy to really get into 3D. It's not that they make poor products, it's just that they make products that are irrelevent if you know 3D.
