Weightmapping.(Assuming Poser users still want to be able to play with Vicky and Michael in the future)
DAZ just showed pics of a weightmapped "Vicky 4.5" guinea pig and Dan Farr confirmed that generation 5 will use weightmaping.

Here is the thread over at DAZ where the shader is discussed:Thread: the ole Edge Blender nod conected to a subtract node trick | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Disable texture filtering for the textures that are plugged into the dynamic hair.Cranking root and tip width up a bit won't hurt either.

And the winner is....KAIBACH !!!!ย ย :-)
I set Vista to globally use the period separator and that fixed it.
Ok, it's more a workaround than a fix, because as a German I'd rather prefer my sytem to adhere to german spelling.
But at least that should give SM enough info to permanently fix it.
Funny thing is, I still reverted back to SR-1 as with SR2.1 rendering was noticeable slower !
Firefly lost 2 seconds on a "Nude figure with hair" and half a minute on a "Figure with a few scene props".
(Timed with the "render Firefly" script)
Again, thanks to Kaibach for steering me into the right direction.

@RobynsVeil: Already did so a couple of weeks ago.
But they don't oficially support non-US versions of Windows.
@Dr Geep: Many thanks for testing.
@-Timberwolf: Nope, no Wacom. Just an "acient" three button HP mouse. :-)
Might also add my system specs:
ACER Aspire Laptop
AMD Athlon X2
ATI Radeon Crossfire
Windows VISTA 32 (German copy)
4GB RAM
(And YES, I DO run the newest available drivers)
As I said, SR-1 runs fine on my system.
And as long as the other SR's didn't result in a noticeable improvement over SR-1 I didn't mind.
But now that the next SR will bring a fully functional library, I'dย really like this to be fixed.

That's good to hear, but I seriously hope that they ALSO fix the "tumbling MAT Zones" bug before they issue the next SR for Poser 8.
I'm still on SR-1 because both SR-2 and SR-2.1 rendered the joint editor useless.
Whenever I try to grab a MAT zone to edit a joint, it just zooms off into space, leaving the figure permanently broken.
I suspect this bug isn't actually that uncommon, but most people don't notice it as hardly anyone actually uses the joint editor.
(Except for content creators, of course.)

The Dork and M4 have the exact same grouping, so if you morph the Dork's body to be shaped like M4, you can easily borrow his rigging without much extra work.
This is not a hybrid. It's still 100% Dork mesh.
Skin is by PitKlad using VSS shader by BagginsBill.
And BTW, no, no postwork and this is the default headshape.

To easily map clothes or figures, try Roadkill:
http://vimeo.com/6902104
Just load the object, tell Roadkill where to place the seams, and it'll do the rest for you.
There are of course more sophisticated UV-mappers out there, but Roadkill is free and pretty easy to use.

"...or are you just re-shaping to fit another figure? WW2 which comes with P8 does that."
My figures are custom rigged and morphed.
I morph them in ZBrush, then adjust the rigging to match the new shape.
The grouping is still the same as V3/M3, but joint centers and falloff zones are completely different.
So none of the automated conversion tools would be any use anyway.
I wonder how similar Aiko 3 and Aiko 4 are ?
If they are shaped the same, converting clothing from A4 to A3 should just change the grouping, not re-shape the mesh, shouldn't it ?
