If I remember correctly, these are all plain .obj files with no textures, but the modelling detail is superb (the ambulance gurney unzips to just over 12Mb!)Thread: About importing clothing done in 3d Modeling program into Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

'Painlessly Easy Conforming Clothing', according to the tutorial's author, bloodsong - and he should know 'cause he wrote the book... literally :)

Thread: Transparencies AND Highlights? Yes, you can have both! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A lot of rendering engines (ever true ray-tracers like POV-Ray) have trouble applying highlights to anything that's 100% black. The sphere on the left has an RGB 0,0,0 texture map applied, the one on the left is RGB 32,32,32 - both have the same highlight settings. As dodger pointed out though, it's essential to have 'Apply texture to highlight' checked for this to occur.
Odd exception - while Poser won't hightlight a 100% black texture map, it will highlight an object with a 100% black material setting.

I think the mane's colour and texture are spot-on. The only thing that occures to me is that the mane should probably be casting a shadow onto the lion's back (similar to the way that the lamb's head is casting a shadow onto it's chest). If you've got the mane on a seperate layer, you could probably fake it with a drop shadow effect.

Bloodsong has some excellent information on .cr2 files, conforming, joint parameters, etc., and a lot more besides.Hope this is helpful to you.
Thread: Unhappy with the new layout/color scheme? Please post here. | Forum: Community Center
Unhappy, to put it mildly.
For a start, how inept do you have to be to design a layout that doesn't fit on a 800x600 screen?
The new logo is mystifying to me - it's well done, but I feel like I should be shopping for car parts.
The white background is literally painful to look at. Yes, I know we can change the background to black (thank goodness) - but first time visitor/customers/clients will encounter the stark, ugly default scheme and I can't imagine it making a good first impression on many of them.
We have marketplace, gallery and freestuff thumbnails all designed to look good on a black background. Didn't it occur to anyone that they might not look quite so good dropped into the middle of a vast expanse of white?
Apparently not :(
In another thread someone suggested that you temporarily revert to the old layout while you get this mess sorted out. Sounds like a good idea to me.

'Also, the top graphic is too wide for an 800x600 screen. Yes, I know everyone must use a 1024x768 screen- on my screen, I get the "right" menu bar on the right on my screen (which is correct), but the top bar keeps going to the right. However, the only things I can't see are the "unimportant" stuff such as my name, the time, and how many users are online.'
Same here, although until I saw your post I hadn't realised it. I was so unimpressed by the new design that I just assumed the absence of name, time, etc., was another intentional 'improvement'.
The idea that somebody could redesign a site without once bothering to see what it looked like at 800x600 is mind boggling. Not everybody has a 19" monitor and 20/20 eyesight.

It doesn't do much for our credibility as an artistic community that we now have one of the ugliest websites on the net. Pass the sunglasses 8) - gps
Thread: Link's Hair, version 2====> | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You could try setting 'Casts Shadow' to off on the hair object - that'll stop the strands from casting shadows onto each other. It'll also stop the entire hair prop from casting shadows onto the face, but this often isn't noticeable, and can sometimes even be desirable. Cool hair btw :) - gps

Thread: Free head texture for use with the Liv Tyler/Arwen morph by Porthos. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Patricia - you're welcome :) Dizzie - this is V1 with the .obj morph applied. I used three infinite lights (nothing fancy, just varying shades of grey), the hair has 'Cast Shadow' unchecked in the 'Object' menu (a handy tip for neat renders with transmapped hair) and the camera was set to a focal length of 100mm. Don't give up just yet, if I can get a result like this anyone can ;) - Graham

Hi AnthonyI don't know what ISP you use, but you might want to give Freeserve a look (so long as you have a standard BT phoneline too).
This is from their website:
Summary: This quick guide explains the Freeserve policy on member's websites in terms of bandwidth and total storage space.
Relevant to: Windows 95/98/2000/Me/XP, Mac OS
No, there are currently no bandwidth restrictions on Freeserve homepages.(In case you were wondering, 'bandwidth' reflects the amount of activity on your website. It may use up a lot of bandwidth because it is very popular with other people, or it may be because you or they are uploading and downloading a lot of material.)
Freeserve members can use up to 30MB of web space for each website they build if they use the My site builder or FTP my site tools. You can create up to five websites.
Your site can receive as many visitors as you like, as long as it conforms to our Terms of Use.
They don't allow direct linking anymore, but 150mb with no bandwidth restrictions for 13.99 a month ain't bad :)
Cheers
