Well im glad this has happened, I've been with poser for longer than my frail mind remembers, and have almost all the different versions of poser (bar the first), but was (until last year) a poser only user, but then got into daz (thought I never would), and i really hope and wish that some of the features in daz make their way over to poser, i love poser and would never ditch it, i just feel that until now its never had a home it deserved and wasn't treated as it should have, but now it's here at 'rosity im happy, if renderosity can't bring back the A game no one can. Great news and i look forward to the future.

Thread: G8F thumb posing issue need help | Forum: DAZ|Studio
the thumb does rotate at the base but doesn't rotate into the correct position so produces an even more ugly bend. and I know the thumb doesn't twist at the joint but surely the bend at the base of the thumb should produce a position where the pad of the thumb is nearly opposite the pads of the fingers instead of at 90 degrees as in the pic. oh and I think the fingers in the pic are not positioned correctly, give it a try.

Thread: Poser vs Daz studio render times | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have been using poser since about 2001 maybe longer, and only just started to dabble in Daz, and I'm not really seeing this issue, Iray much like Reality although just not exsternal and a lot better and nicer to use, can safely say there are things in poser that are good and things in Daz that are good, although I cant seam to find an area render in Daz as yet.

I know you've solved your problem using subdiv, but I am just curious if you could have solved the problem by changing the shadow min bias of the lights to 0.00001 and the shadow map size to 1024, instead of subdividing the figure.
i tried that and it did not change the issue, Also I discovered that displacement will not correctly display in superfly unless you subdivide the object with displacement attached to it, as I tried a noise displacement to get a fur type of look and it looks lumpy without subdividing. shall be doing this with all my renders from now on.

I like Lucy, and there was a figure called Eve way back, think I still have it in my library somewhere.

Think I may have solved it, by selecting V4 then selecting "Figures/Skinning method/Poser Unimesh" and in V4's body properties changing the now enabled "Subdivision levels/Render" to 2. This has cleaned the shadows up, why on earth it takes note of the mesh considering it has no sharp edges at those points is beyond me. perhaps there is another reason.

Right did several more tests, no matter my render settings, low or high I still get these shadow faults, and they seam to coincide with the polygon mesh, but are not at the seam boarders. I'm pretty much stumped on this one. I have included a full face render on low settings and a test rectangle render of the arm ignore the white triangle that's just light through a triangle.

Thank you Rokket I will give that a try. And to those confused by the images, the bit you are supposed to be looking it is the rendered rectangle on the neck, not the rest of the preview image around it. As far as I can see in the full render V4 Is the only thing effected by these jagged shadows, will post some more pics later.
