I was only confused because Pro Studio appears to sit between Esprit and Infinite, so having the lowest end version and highest end versions supported but not the one in the middle had me wondering...

Presumably when it says "users of Vue 6 Esprit, Infinite, and xStream can render photorealistic interiors" it also means Pro Studio too?

Thank you for your suggestions.
In the end, the solution was to triangulate the facets in UV Mapper and then reapply the texture to the updated mesh.
It now maps just fine.
Thread: Garbled textures in render | Forum: Vue
In one test, I rendered it at user level, 8 - 24 pixel anti-aliasing with no effect at all.
It was exported from Hexagon as an OBJ, then UV mapped and exported from UV Mapper as a new OBJ.
In a previous iteration, I had text along the side coming out as random splotches, with Bryce again showing no problems at all.
It's still work in progress, you can see more of it here:

Thread: Ram Memory | Forum: Vue
Putting 4GB of RAM into a 32bit machine running XP would be wasted. This little gem was revealed to me by a support colleague. If you go to the computer properties of a machine with 4GB of RAM, you see that only 3.6 GB or so is actually seen. Applications typically will only be given a 2GB virtual address space, although some can be tricked or fooled into working with a 3GB address space. Poser running as a separate process would be given a 2GB virtual address space too, the fun bit is that as memory usage rises, you will find that the machine will page to disk to satisfy demands. My experience with Vue having moved from a 1.5 GB machine to a newer faster 3GB machine is that the extra memory makes no difference in terms of the perennial out of memory and stability issues with Vue. I hit the wall with three or four Poser figures in 1.5 GB of RAM as I do with 3GB. The main benefit I've found with 3GB is being able to work with other applications at the same time, and avoiding the slow paging of virtual memory to and from the disk.

Thread: Render times with water | Forum: Vue
Some useful suggestions, many thanks. I'm wondering perhaps I should render the scene with water at a lower quality setting, and then render the scene again without the water at a higher quality setting and use a mask to combine the two. My render is still running and the skin tones on the figure are noticeably poorer with the lowered quality settings. :-(

Congratulations, what a feeling it must have been to see your work up there. Glad you are posting again.
Thread: Problems with the Anime Dolls morph pack | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A fellow Bebop fan I see ! I do have Aiko but thought I could leverage all my V3 stuff with Anime Dolls but it just doesn't really cut it in retrospect. Thanks for the reply.

What you see there is the result of starting Poser 6 from fresh, creating a new V3 SR2 figure, and then applying "Anime Female3 INJ". Other ones look similarly bad when using this same procedure. I have patched (re-patched in reality) International Beauty Morphs, and repatched V3 to SR2.

Even if the benefit of the doubt could be extended to them, that they unwittingly accepted a model from somebody assuming that it was theirs to give, you'd hope that they would at least have the grace to acknowledge that they dropped the ball on this. The whole thing feels a little amateur, not helped by the appearance of their web site, although I'm no expert in these matters. As for the domain name business, that doesn't bode well at all. You wonder if Renderosity need to know about that in a more official capacity given that the Eclipse site sports a Renderosity link share logo, with its attendant usage restrictions and guidelines.

It's Saturday afternoon, 17:10 GMT in the UK, and I can still click on a PayPal link to buy the Space Jockey. Is California in a different time continuum as well as a different time zone ?

Quote - BTW, on their website, Eclipse Studios cliam the shuttle craft is: "Created from drawings and photos of the original prop from the movie Alien, this highly detailed and fully textured 3D Model is an exact replica of the Narcissus escape shuttle from the first movie in the Alien quardology. This is the only 3D Model of the Narcissus ever made." This one is also NOT a broker item, but an original model from them. The Alien pilot is the brokered item.
You wonder what checks they make on anything. If you look at this box artwork for a Japanese model kit of the Narcissus, you'll see the prominent 20th Century Fox notice at the bottom. We can safely assume that this notice didn't get there without making time to do some "checking". http://www.fantamodellismo.altervista.org/alien/foto_spiegazioni_narcissus/narcissus_01grande.jpg If these guys are playing fast and loose with their "own" products, is it any wonder this kind of thing happens.

Is that response taken directly from their email ? Threatening the wronged party knowing they have made a mistake just makes them look even worse. If that was not enough, their response is full of spelling mistakes, very professional (not). Agree with Connieket8, their response and attitude will be the most negative effect on their reputation, the fall out of any suggestion of action against a wronged party puts them on the radar of every artist.
