There are several freeware motion capture solutions, right off the top of my head, there's dgeeme which is currently in beta -

The processor is slower than the one in my macbook pro (core duo 2.13ghz). However, this laptop will, under the right circumstances, get you sexual favors simply because it's so "in vogue"

I recommend that [If you have photoshop] create a contact sheet of the image at different exposures. Print it out on the printer and paper intended for the final. Some local print houses will do this for free.

Thanks man, I have the exact same card as you and I was just thinking of upgrading my drivers!

Thread: I guess my poser 7 problem free days are over. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey nice work on the video! That style of mv is well suited for poser!
To the person mentioning the ATI driver reinstall. I wholeheartedly agree. I think the key is making sure you use the ATI driver removal tool. It would also be good if E-frontier QA would tell us what system specs they tested Poser 7 with, such as:
Graphics card model, bios and driver versions.
Network Card model and driver version
Motherboard model, bios and driver versions
If system tested is preconfigured (e.g. DELL), what model number and was it run STOCK (i.e. no driver updates other than what DELL/Microsoft installs).
System requirements on the box are fine, but when problems get down to a driver version, then the above info really helps.

I think I found a bug in P7 - if you are rendering an animation and you disconnect the mouse (unplug from usb) - poser eventually crashes. My monitor has a built in hub. SO I start the rendering at night and turn off the monitor - which turns off the hub - which turns off the mouse. Next morning - poser has disappeared. All I see is my desktop.
Repro's 100%
just fyi
Thread: Optimal settings for video rendering in Poser 7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The benefit of your preferred output is that you're rendering at a lower fps than ntsc, so that's a timesaver right there. However, you are rendering to a slightly higher resolution (vs ntsc).
encoding for your target, I rec: 720 x 576 x 25fps x interlaced. Use an mpeg2 or h.264 codec with a high bitrate probably @ 2700 kbps
Ideally, HD is best because it supports progressive display which, obviously, looks nicer and you don't have to worry about deinterlacing on the client-side.

Thread: Any easy way to make wet skin ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Essentially, wet skin is just that, a layer of skin that is covered with a thin, uneven layer of water. Consider a very thin glass texture on top of the skin. Obviously, refraction would be low. Just another method to consider.

Anyone considered that a version of poser with serious integration with other "high-end" 3d apps would make it a prospective aquisition?
Cuz shade ain't all that.
Thread: 64-bit Poser Pro announced. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What a discussion,...I think the fact that there is finally some integration with apps like maya, c4d, lightwave,...etc. That is my 1st reason to go with the pro version. Distributed rendering - ohhh how I've wanted that for some time, but I still wonder how well poser will manage scenes with a great many objects (so-so, as far as I can tell at the moment).
The thing is about poser is the UI - I can get stuff done FAST in poser, and when I mean fast, I mean aesthetically-fast as far as the model is concerned.
If you are a hobbyist, don't get pro, why would you need it anyway?
If you make money with poser like I do, then it might be worth it - especially for the built-in integration with renderers other than Shade (I just hate the Shade UI, hate - hate- hate)!

I'm using the latest P7 service pack, so I'm wondering if the bug reared it's ugly head in the service pack. In anycase, I would consider this a priority 1 bug
