Thanks for the kind words everybody - nice to see the dork still has fans. BTW, good point about the focal length, I have to admit he looks a bit beaky at 50mm :) Graham

I found this site at Omni 3D. Might be useful. gpsThread: File formats - which ones will keep meshes smooth on import | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Excellent tip, though Anim8or seems to produce larger .obj files than Poser does. Did a bit of experimenting, and came up with these numbers: Export from Amapi as .lws then import into Anim8or and export as .obj = 135K Export from Amapi as .3ds then import into Poser 4 and export as .obj = 129K Import 135K Anim8or .obj into Poser 4 then export as .obj = 103K I don't know what Poser does to shave about 25% off the file size, but it could amount to a handy saving on larger models. Just though I'd pass along the info. gps

Looks like there's enough interest to make this a freestuff contender, but I haven't heard from twillis yet. I sent an IM, but I don't think she's logged in since early Friday (I haven't had that little blue box saying that the message was received) so I'll send her an email as well just to be on the safe side. gps
Thread: String Panties By dutchduc - - -A Must Have! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
zorares, for 'Stringwhite', load up the Biker Shorts then in the Surface Materials menu set the object colour to white and the highlight colour to black. Apply 'Ministring_TEX.jpg' as a texture map and 'Ministring_TRS.jpg' as a transparency map, with Transparency Min and Transparency Max both set to 100%. The end result will look odd in preview mode, but it'll look right once you render the image. I haven't downloaded the black panties yet, but the same method should apply, it's a time-honoured technique for creating posette lingerie. Hope this helps. gps

Thread: Questions on uploading images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Size doesn't seem to matter here, just don't go mad with a 5000x3000 render! Somebody else pointed this out a while ago but I can't remember who it was - anyway it's a tip about the preview post function and uploaded images. If you hit 'Preview Post' you'll see your image and accompanying text, but if you hit 'Post Message' from this preview page, apparently all that'll be posted is the text. If you hit the back button instead of posting you'll see why - the 'Upload Image' field is now blank. If you want to upload an image, you have to post it from the composition page - or whatever it's called : ) Hope this is of some help. gps

Hi pnevai I was shying away from having you send me a new .obj file because I had a feeling it would need remapping. Now that you've described how you did it, I'm almost certain it would, so I think I'll press on with my own morphing version. Good work on the Trinity figure. The skin texture is particularly impressive - the tonal values are virtually identical to the photo. BTW, I don't know if you're planning to do a Neo figure, but if you are there's a nice duster-style coat available free at Ghastley's site. Link attached. He even describes it as being inspired by The Matrix gpsThread: Glock 17 available in Freestuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi pnevai Great minds think alike ;) I already have plans to re-work the original so that I can apply morph targets to operate the trigger, move the magazine in and out and work the slide and slide-catch lever. This could take a while though - actually it could take a long while, so in the meantime, if you'd like to post your modification as an .obj file that's okay by me. I'd prefer it if you distributed it yourself though, as I'd rather have just the one version originating from me (the morphing version will replace the current one). Just give me a mention in the readme file. BTW, you said that you did the conversion in Lightwave? I just had a look at the Lightwave freestuff and they have eight objects there. Yep, eight, so if you want to you could post the open breech and original versions there and you'd single-handedly increase the number of models by 25%! Once again, just give me a name-check in the readme file. gps
