Thread: Zero Morph Dials | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
SVDL - Can I beat a dead horse, just one more time? I remember when you first introduced spawncharacter.py to me. You said it would Spawn a new morphs, into each part, and then delete all of the old ones; bam, what everybody would love to have! Then the script never met that end, and went into a whole bunch of different directions like; channels, magnets, and INJs. None of which are'nt genuinely helpful; but without the premise of the script, as first introduced to me, were all detours. And again, as you are going to see, I'm about to refer your help to another member; but, again, sure the original spawncharacter.py would have been my focus. I realize this is an apprentice, togging on the wizards cape; but...
Acadia - Have you run SVDL's removemorphs.py? It just removes any morph with a value of 0.
SVDL - My problem, here, is that I think I can see where Acadia's next step will be. Now that she knows how to save all that space, by removing all those MTs with a value of 0; I bet she'll be looking to why she even has more than one MT working at a time. I bet her next step will be to look for means by which to consolidate all of the morphs with a part; and then save even more space removing even more morphs!
Thread: Firefly rendering in thin lines instead of block by block | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Firefly Bucket is a Square Measurement, is'nt it; I mean it only renders in square blocks, as in the only way to get it to measure a whole line at once would be to have a Bucket Size as wide as the document is?

zanzo - I think richardson may be correct. The Poser4 render engine renders line by line. Check your render settings; to make sure you hav'nt, inadvertently, switched to that render engine.

I do this all the time! Ockham has a free python script called LightPanel.py; that will just parent all the lights, of any type, all at once.

I use IE solely for business purposes.
For just browsing forums, and surfing the rest of the internet from end to end, I use Firefox.
For security purposes; I believe this is the best decision, to keep my sensitive data seperate/isolated/personal.
Thread: Poser 7 Rendering & RAM Issues | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Awsome! I really need to learn more about 64bit, thanks!*
"Additionally, each process can claim up to 3gb of swap file;"*
So how were you getting 3,567,036K, from Virtual; that's like an extra .5+ GB? If you've got Poser running in a multi-core CPU, can each process you're running Poser in have 3GBs, of Virtual? How much could each process have of Physical RAM? And how many process' can you run Poser in, all 4?

Thanks for the reassurance Acadia!
I think you're a Firefox user also?
I'm using 2.0.0.12, still; because I had trouble with the Smart Bookmarks Bar Add-On, after a past upgrade. This Add-On turns each bookmark, in your Bookmarks toolbar, into a little icon; rather than with having any text, which takes up lots of space. I've got like 50 bookmarks there now, with room for more!

Ah, missed that spec., sorry.
pjz - Are you running Vista, how many bit? Hey, am I seeing Poser having run for 182 hours!?
Thread: Poser 7 Rendering & RAM Issues | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
" Nothing else beside Poser runs during that time."
That's not true, you're running Windows. And Windows is where Poser's math is calculated. Poser does'nt have it's own Swap File, and relays on Window's; so Windows gets a pretty good workout, when Poser is around. Windows XP has a Memory limit of 2GBs, per application; with Windows counting as an application.* * So that 4Gbs of RAM use you're seeing is'nt all Poser.
pjz99 - Applications that are Large Address Aware can receive 3GBs per application, but you would need Vista and Poser 7 to qualify there; unless you go with stewer's work around...
Rhiana - If you're using Vista and Poser the first thing you can look to is your Virtual Memory setting; where you'll, probably, need to increase it's opening size. Your's should open at at least 2GBs. This would allow 3GBs for Windows(2Physical(RAM) + 1 Virtual,) and the same for Poser.
The next thing you can look for, even before render settings, are your figures' morphs. When you Save, as a .PZ3, how big is the scene? There could, potentially be 100s of MBs wasted by Morphs set to "0". This is especially true with Daz figures. If you've got all of V3 loaded, with all of her morphs INJ'd, you're probably bogged pretty bad. I could shave 190MBs, off a 250MB V3.PZ3, just by removing morphs set to zero; with SVDL's removemorphs.py. And that's just the quicky. If you're really interested in conserving space we can get into how I consolidated all of my V3.PZ3 morphs, and ended up saving 240MBs, off that 250MB .PZ3!
I still hav'nt seen the render setting? I saw the link:
*but there are no images there.
Aside from that would you please post a link to PE Explorer?*
Thread: Morphs, Mags or Bones? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I would'nt expect bones to be in order here either.
"...to add a little jiggle to your figure..."*
Magnets are what you would use to create unique deformations on your figures surface.
" I'd like to make these figures as resource light as possible, to make them suitable for animation."
It would then be commonplace to convert you magnets into morphs, with the Spawn feature. Morphs can also me spawned/combined/slimmed into less morphs; as morphs can get heavy also, especially when not in use(set to 0) I have a V3.PZ3 where I archive all of my morphs and magnets. As is it is 250MBs. But, for rendering, I've use a 10MB.PZ3; that looks exactly like the 250MB, just with it's magnets/morphs consolidated into 1 morph per part.
shehzad105 - Magnets.
Here is a quick Magnet tutorial:
1.) Make sure you have the Part of the Figure that you want to deform selected, and click Object > Create Magnet.
2.) The 3 parts to the new Magnet Set are now listed in the Props list for the Figure or Prop; they are the Magnet, the Magnet Zone, an the Magnet Base.
3.) Select the Magnet Zone.
4.) Goto Display > Element Style > Wireframe. This is the really hard part, that Poser's Default is way off base by, though nobody ever tells!
5.) Now open the Parameters Palette.
6.) Move the wireframe to intersect with the area you want to Deform.
7.) Select the Magnet part of the Magnet Set.
8.) As you alter the Parameters of the Magnet(away from the Base) the geometry within the Zone will likewise be effected.

Thread: Help with a face/body morph | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmm, glad I asked; she is cute!
Who took the pictures? The lighting, in most of thee, is very nice!
If you did; next time you do this, have her pull all her hair back, out of her face. And, as Xantor said, a full profile would help.
So are wee still set on V4/V3? I think she actually has V3's default nose, but the Face Room has quite a jump on custom Daz stuff.

Thank you SamTherapy; I'd thought I was done testing shadows, but now I see there is more to explore! :tongue1:

" .OBP is Bryce's native Material format."
Woops that's .MAT, I see .OBP is Bryce's Mathmatic Expression, for geometry.
