The spot on the ghost side is a quad spot, with a spread of 5 degrees, power of 5 and a fall off of 50%. It's in fairly close, dead front of the ghost and up high. For whatever reason, the Quad Spot won't let me put in a softness variable. Should I change to a regular spot?

I'm most interested in how you end up making the road that winds through the mountain. I've a few ideas, but am too unsure of myself to actually suggest them. :)

The lighting in Poser is a major problem. That's why I'm trying so hard to figure out the poser to vue transfer. Unfortunately I've had to step away from Vue for a while and finish up some non-3d related projects. I'll be back though!
Thread: Gallery question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think you're looking at it a little wrong... Poser's limitations don't suit you, so it doesn't suit you. Some people don't like water colors, some don't like inks. If you render in Bryce, then that's great and I'd argue that your picture is suitable for both galleries. And like you said, I'm smiling as I say this. I don't mean you're wrong, just offering a different point of view.

Yes, I am applying them to DAZ figures. And no, they do not end up in either my finished renders or my preview, which is in texture-preview mode. I downloaded the hi-res textures from DAZ, and when I went to the mat pose injector nothing worked. When I double click (or click the texture and then the check mark) nothing happens. I went through and manually loaded all the files, and they all worked, and they all seemed to be "converted" and all that. (.jpgs and such into .bums) Then when I clicked on the texture (either hires makeup or natural) it seems to work. But it didn't until I made those changes manually. Now it works even through a reboot. Makes me wonder if I'd have these problems with Pro-Pack. Also, makes me wonder if there isn't something similar going on with the base V3 that I have... that some bump files aren't converted and that's why she looks cartoony. Clearly this isn't just as easy as I thought, or hoped, it would be. I'm still having fun, but it is a bit discouraging.

There is a solid color with no texture on her body. the DAZ makeup doesn't work, the DAZ hi-res textures don't work. Eyelashes, eyes, all that don't work. I'll try to create the poblem and upload a picture.

Not at all, and yes that is what I am thinking of, only on a much smaller scale. I'm wanting it to sit right over something like a grill. So it's the effect of a mirage but limited to right over the grill. I had thought of a primative with a rippled glass texture that was almost transparent, but the edges are too defined when I try to render it. And I'm trying to do very little in post.

Absolutely, You just have to place the clouds between the sun and your camera. Use volumetric clouds...

I asked a similar question a while back, and what I was told is that a Bryce scene and a Vue scene are incompatable. In other words, you guys have a tough row to hoe.

When I get home from work later tonight I'm going to buy the hi-res texture map and the proper clothing article. Thanks for the help!

Are you on a PC or a Mac? It makes a difference. I'd hazzard a guess that it's a mac because most Mac's have a differant standard setting for Gamma than PC's. Most Mac browsers adjust to the PC standard for Gamma, while most Mac graphic apps default to the Mac Gamma. Check your work in your browser before posting.

Okay, I feel stupid about the Cotton Casuals. Duh, didn't by the clothes that I bought the textures for. Duh... call me stupid. But I'm still having a hell of the time with the make-up. I'll check for that Mac update for the textures. Thanks for your patience.
