It may be the cr2 that is causing hte problem, but it looks like the normals for then blank sections have been reversed somewhere along the line. I've has that problem on a few items, though I use dynamic cloth rather than conforming. If you have P5 You might want to put your model through the clothroom first, you can drape it over your charecter first then export the draped mesh and use it in the conforming item. You can also use it to make custom morphs for your conforming item I think. John

I have got that problem before (the mesh holes) when using a displacement map in P5. Not sure if you can use those in Poser Artist but thought it might help. John

Hi Patschulynn I can make charecter injection files, I wouldnt mind doing one or two for your charecter if you would like. Have a look in my freestuff for an example :) I'm English but I have some german friends who could help if we have trouble communicating :) I work for a German Company (Audi and now Mahle). John,

Not 100% sure if this will help you or not but it's something I did last weekend, whenI was turnign V3 into a marble statue. I posed her in Poser, then exported her as an obj file. Opened the obj file in UVMapper and selected everything. Clicked on Tools, Assign To - Material and entered a new name (stone in my case). Then resaved the model to a new name. Then in Poser imported the new uvmapped model back in. Because I assigned the whole model to one materail group uvmapper deleted the others, so I could assign one shader to the figure. In your case it should work as well, but when you export your have to export the whole scene. Oh and to save teh model you'll need UVMapper Pro (which I wouldn't be without). I hope that helps :) or at least gives you an idea or two. Take care John. Oh opera, you could do the same thing I think, with a bit more fine tuning to preserve the material areas you wanted to. Then point your figure or prop file to the new geomotry file(being carefull to take backups of course :)). The link shows you how to replace internal geomotry with an external file, which you may not want to do, but it should give you an idea of what you need to change to point to your new geomotry file. Hope that makes sense :).Fugazi (without the aid of a safety net)

The only dial I mess with is fold resistance, a setting of 1 gives a nice silky feel, 50 or so stiff leather. John

I should add the Xtreme Closeup texture pack for V3, and possibly the first expansion, it's got some nice tattoo options. Take Care John

First of all you need to put the barbell in the figures hands, and pose the hand so it is held naturally. This is a taks in itself but isnt too tricky. People often do this with the figure at zero pose. Anyway once you have the barbell in the hand and you are happy, make sure you have the barbell selected, then click on Object, Properties then click on Set Parent. In the figure hierarchy select the hand you have posed the barbell to. Click on OK etc, etc. Now when you move the hand the barbell will move with it. I am not sure if you can parent it to both hands, but maybe someone else out there can clarify that :) Hope that helps John

It is distinctly possible you dont have any real texture maps for M3. I have a folder in the Pose library called !MAT M3 HiRes thats the only place I have any textures for M3, and I seem to remember I bought these seperately from M3. John

For the mat files, if you go to the Materials Room you will see the maps that have been loaded. If you cant see the map on the shaer node, click on the little eye on the top right to display it. As for the morphs, select a part of the body to select the figure, then from the drop down (on the dial window) instead of selecting a body part like hip, select Body (second option down as I remember). Im not sure it has all the morphs but it has enough to make the whole process easier. Hope that helps John

Thread: Dynamics is crashing my computer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.posernode.co.uk/main.htm
The first couple of cdynamic clo9thing props I made didnt work, not sure why bu I think that the mesh was too dense, it's a fine balance but the higher the poly count the liklier it is to go wrong. If you have a look at the link I have attached there is a pair of dynamic pants in the downloads section. Have a look at them and see if you can get them to work on your machine. If they do then the problem is with your model, if not then it might be a problem with your software or your PC isn't up to it. If it's an intersection problem as randym mentions you might want to try this trick. scale your model up a little to ensure no intersections with the figure, then position it an parent it to the figures hip (Ive never had a problem parenting dynamic clothes). Set up the simulation as normal At frame 1 of your simulation shrink the figure by 5%, then at the last frame scale it back to 100%, then run the calculation. This technique is used to make dynamic clothes tighter, but in this case should remove the intersetion problem. Dont scale your model up too much :) or it'll just slip off the figure, oh and try not draping it, I've had models that wont drape but will run the rest of the sim :) Hope that helps, if you want you can send me your model and I will try it out too. Take care John.Fugazi (without the aid of a safety net)
