Beside of Poser I havn't any use of Windows (maybe because I don't do gaming). Linux runs mutch faster and smother with the same machine here. Even with a 3D desktop with some bells and wistles (another thing nobody really needs - better driver support is mutch more important for any OS).

Anyone ever have a kitty that loved to unroll toilet paper from the bathroom spindle dispenser? My Buttermilk would completely unravel a full roll at manic speed, like some kind of crazed industrial machine operator, arms and paws flying. We finally had to store the t.p. in a wicker basket to keep it away from her.

One problem I have with P7 is the laggy response times to input, and my system far exceeds basic spec requirements. It's so bad that the parameter dials are practically useless. In the next release I hope the developers will allow for fine tuning input through the keyboard, using the arrow keys to make precise adjustments in parameter values. I believe that would be far preferable to playing the frustrating "guess the numerical values" game that's the only alternative to the dial system.
Even better, streamline the code. No other 3D program I use suffers fron such slow response, and that includes 3dsMax, even when manipulating very high poly, fully textured models.

Yep, I saw the warning on the Icon Suite and disabled download. If you'll notice, all the links are to the sowftware oiginator's sites or Sourceforge, so this is not a repository. It's just as safe to initiate a download from this address as any other, but these days every download is a real crap shoot. I include MicroSoft in that statement, too. I never ever unzip a file or run a downloaded executable without scanning it first. You have to wonder how empty a person's life must be for them to derrive pleasure from deliberately injuring others.
