Well..lyrics are a subset of poetry..they're a lot more tied to the rhythm of a song..poetry can be free-flowing, arythmic, a lot more varied than 'and one more thing, ya know it doesn't have to rhyme..;)Fight like a Brave- Red Hot Chili Peppers (whoo boy am I dating myself..;) '. Let's just say I'm more of a specialist..;)

Thread: Need help with a poem and English :) | Forum: Writers
as a Southerner, I'm not qualified to give advice on English..;) but looks fine to me. Pulls away, maybe, but writing poetry in my own language is hard enough (I just do lyrics, anyway..;)

Thread: obscure wishlist | Forum: Bryce
there's a search function in the Freebie section here, I'd try that first (don't be too specific, tho, I've found vague helps..;) I think I've seen a wristwatch there, and also a mask). A quick place to check would be 3dcafe.com (they have 1 of everything, quality and texturing vary, tho..;)

Thread: Importing 3ds files........... | Forum: Bryce
Yeah..I use .3ds whenever possible, because they're a lot smaller than .dxf..;) You can, with a little finessing, include Boolean objects to a model (placement and texturing only, Booleans can't be exported, for example), but as for taking parts out of the initial model, it's not adviseable (it's possible, but if you try to move the model, you'll leave 'kibbles 'n bits' all over the screen..best not go there..;) they're handy to use as models. have some fun, and don't be afraid to experiment..and you can also import .obj, if you're using another program that supports it. take care.

Thread: A shameless plug... (what else could it be?) | Forum: Bryce
It comes and goes. Usually it's folks that are just starting out..but Pauljs75's been around for a while. One thing I've noticed is that the whole community here has gotten a bit fragmented, especially with gallery and sub-genre settings. While on the one hand, you can look at just what you want, the flip side is you miss stuff you might like. I tend to set to 'All n' All', and check out the whole megilla..;) I can change the 'hit count' on any of my pics just by posting to one gallery over another. Maybe that's what this is about..over to you, Pauljs75..;)

maybe a little lightening around the fire on the horizon, it's putting out light, might be reflected from the clouds a little (but a minor point).

sure, all the action's taking place on the processor, anyway. If you turn it off, you don't need the screen saver ..

oh yeah..there's even sites devoted to Bryce Animation. Did you try a Google (or your fave engine) search? Crossroads, the program, will do several conversions, don't know about a .vmo..Cosmopolitan what?..;) There were some experimental grass textures out there..but can't find it, dangit. Here's a grass-making tutorial..not top quality, but a possibility http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Nook/9613/grass.html http://www.geocities.com/imanonymis/sfx3d/grass.html Animation tutorial here.. http://www.corelmag.com/3d/anim.html Tutorials in General.. http://www.3dmodelworld.com/tutorials/bryce http://www.petersharpe.com/Downloads.htm http://dva.bgsu.edu/tutorials/bryce5.html (animated ) There's more, but I need to clean up my site listings..this should start you out.

Thread: Super Utility Idea | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser Pro's, Daz Poser Arcana (tutorials), I just updated my site list with about 300 sites (thanks, Bryde), but haven't got it on me at present . Trick is to get what you want. Do a Google search on "Poser Forums", include the double quotes, and it should come up with a boatload..

Thread: Suggestions on sword, C&C on modelling, etc. | Forum: Bryce
had to double-check, thought I was in the Wings forum for a sec..;) most of the swords I see are about 25-35" or longer, depending on type and purpose. Calvary swords are longer, because you're swinging from a horse. Some of the Japanese companion swords (the one you use once you've lost) are a lot shorter. Anime swords are measured in feet; though they probably weight upwards of a hundred pounds in real life, this is anime after all..;) The Greeks had a spatha which was eventually down to 'kitchen-knife' size, the gladius was a bit longer than that, though known as a short sword. Anything longer than about 35" was commonly one-and-a-half or two-handed swords, like the claymore, etc.
(note, all measurements are 'mark 1 eyeball', haven't actually researched it..;) I'm impressed, my Wings knowledge is bumping against the 'how do I move 'a' over so I don't select it when I'm working on 'b'' level. Looks like I have a way to go
