GaryChildress posted at 11:05 AM Thu, 18 April 2024 - #4483748Well, I've sort of dropped the project and decided to stick with stuff I already have for now. I got the licenses (I think) but I haven't tried the program out yet or done anything with it.. It looks like there might be some learning I'll need to do. As far as I can tell it starts up and the licenses seem to have plugged into the app or at least show up in it. i haven't tried converting any clothing with it, though.did it work? Did you got your licences? I am asking because I wanted to buy some too but was afraid because the site seems not active anymore.OK. I just saw the message that says allow up to 24 hours for processing. Hopefully everything works out fine.

Thread: A Bad Fit? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My bad, I forgot to post the pic. I'm using Poser 12, Mike 4, and a custom piece of clothing made with Wings3D that I'm trying to turn into a conforming figure by utilizing the fitting room. The clothing has been tesselated in Wings because I was getting some nasty looking polygon corruption.

I just downloaded Crossdresser 4 and then purchased some licenses. It says I've paid, however, when I go to the download screen it says I don't have any items to DL. Did I miss something or did I just hand the website my money and they just walk off with it?

I thought Poser came in two versions, Poser Pro and whatever the regular package is? But maybe I'm recalling incorrectly. It's been a while since I messed around with Poser. No such beast. There is only one version of Poser 12.

I use Poser 12, home edition (non-professional).

Thread: Is "Blue Screen" Effect Possible with Poser 12 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When you want to preserve the shadows in the rendered image, that will work. However, the OP has not mentioned which Poser version or render engine is being used for the project. It's difficult to provide an exact solution when you don't have all the information at hand. And I wouldn't know what HartyBart is suggesting because he has entirely blocked me from viewing his comments.Sorry, using Poser 12, usually with Firefly rendering. Yes, I can use the transparent background but I'd like for there to be shadows present as though there is a background that the figure is standing on. That way I can paste appropriate shadows and all when I paste the figures rendered onto any scene I want.

Wow! I feel like there should be an easier more straightforward way to do that. Basically, I'd like to create a large collection of graphics that can be manipulated like this for a game I enjoy playing and modding. It doesn't seem like Poser lends itself very well to the sort of task I want from it. Yikes!

OK. I think I figured it out. It's been a while since I've messed with Poser but it looks like it's working now. Thank you.Not sure what you mean by M4 not supported. I load M4 every day into Poser 13. Did you link a Poser runtime with M4 in it to Poser 13?

Interesting. So Paul is going to be offered with Poser 11? I hope he's a lot better than Simon was, at least as good as Mike 4. (And doesn't look like a string bean.)

Thread: Is anyone here not very good at making models but good at texturing them? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Texturing" a model always starts with the UV map. Nine times out ten, the reason a model is difficult to texture is because the UV map and/or material zones are not created well. With good material zone creation, you can virtually automate texture mapping with seamless textures and a few brush strokes in some cases.
I'm not a good texturer, but can do a decent UV Map, from time to time. That makes texturing models, myself, a heck of a lot easier.
I can UV map OK. It's just creating realistic looking textures that I'm not good at. I've seen some of the textures from items in the marketplace here and elsewhere and they are amazing. Wish I could create textures like that.

It looks good. Do you have it UV mapped?
Oh and don't worry about lighting. I'm still learning that myself.
Thanks. Yes. I UV Mapped it. I made it in Wings3D.
@OBM8890: I never thought of that but you have a good point. It's not like long johns where you just drop a flap. And if landing from a parachute drop doesn't jar the stuff out of you I don't know what would. Maybe another reason they lost the war?

Here's a little better pic of the jump smock. Unfortunately lighting in Poser is something I'm still learning too. :)
