I've had similar problems in Poser. For props, one thing that works (marginally) is to create the rope using another software (It can't be a simple cylinder. It must have many facets/vertices), and then use the magnets in Poser to create the curves. It is difficult to maintain constant diameter, however. I hope this helps, Ericroy
Thread: Injection | Forum: Poser Technical
Artistheat, I wrote a tutorial describing a technique for creating INJ pose files from standard morph targets using spreadsheet and wordprocessor software. The tutorial is posted at RDNA. I hope it is helpful. Ericroy
Thread: Help!!! | Forum: Poser Technical
If the title of the document window is off the screen, you will need to set Poser to the factory default settings: 1. Go to Edit>General Preferences... 2. Under Document Preference, select Launch to Factory State 3. Under Interface Preference, select Use Factory State 4. Select the Set Preferred State button 5. Select the OK button. I hope this helps, Ericroy
Thread: keeping clothing on in poser5 | Forum: Poser Technical
Ishroom, If it is conformable clothing: 1. Select the clothing. 2. On the menu bar, select Figure > Conform to. 3. Pick the figure in the drop down list and click OK. 4. The clothing should snap into place on the figure. After you conform the clothing, you must be careful when posing the figure. If you try to move a figure part, but grab the clothing by mistake, things will distort. I find it easier to pose and animate the figures and then add the clothing last. If the clothing is a prop: 1. Position the clothing exactly the way you want it on the figure. 2. On the menu bar, select Figure > Properties. 3. On the Properties pallet, click on the Properties tab. 4. Click on the Set Parent button. 5. Select the body part that you want the clothing to be attacted to from the list. For example, if the clothing item is a hat, select the figure head. Many clothing props are called smart props. Smart props are already parented, so they snap into position on the body part when you add them to your scene. I hope this helps, Ericroy

Thread: kneeling in a dress | Forum: Poser Technical
In the dress, have you included bones for the left and right buttock and thigh? That is the only way that I know how to do it. (It is still a pain).

Thread: Can't open exist Poser 5 file. | Forum: Poser Technical
I used to get something very similar with P4! When it happened to me, if I looked in the hierarchy... all of the parenting was gone. Sometimes I could import the file into a new file and salvage some of it. But, it was usually a sign of a corrupt file. Well, I may not be able to help, but I can sympathize with you. :)
Thread: No shadows from the Poser SQUARE. | Forum: Poser Technical
I have never had good luck using the poser ground in any version of poser. I have always needed to create ground or floor. I have used the squares, but more often, a very thin cube. The squares (mostly the one sided one) sometimes aren't visible while posing... so, the thin cube seemed to work better for me. (I agree with anyone who says we shouldn't need to resort to these silly tricks and techniques. Hehe). Good luck, Ericroy
Thread: Vicki 3 Memory problems | Forum: Poser Technical
FYI DAZ has SR1.1 available now for V3, and for body morphs and for head morphs. I don't know if it affects memory use.
Thread: Bizarre OBJ rendering problem | Forum: Poser Technical
I have similar problems if I render in P5 with the firefly renderer and raytrace on and if I'm using a procedural texture (i.e. the woodgrain tex). I don't have the problem with the P4 renderer. Very frustrating.
Thread: V3 morph injection | Forum: Poser Technical
Aw gee. DAZ confirms the problem I mentioned above(V3 not working right with the poser5 SR 2.1). They can duplicate it, and other people have been complaining about it. So far, they don't have a clue what is wrong. (I'm still waiting to hear from Curious Labs. Waiting and waiting and...).
Thread: V3 morph injection | Forum: Poser Technical
My V3 stuff worked fine (after installing the V3 service releases). Then I installed Poser5 SR2.1. Now the inject all body morphs and the inject all head morphs don't work. Either that or they are extremly slow (i.e. I waited 7 hours). The individual morphs seem to inject okay. I still have Poser4 ProPack on my machine, so I installed all of my V3 stuff there, and it works fine. This confirms for me that it isn't a problem with my computer. So, this probably doesn't help you, but I would like to know if you are running P5 with SR2.1????? If more than one person has the same problem, we may get faster results. Thank you, Ericroy
Thread: RSR to PNG | Forum: Poser Technical
P3D0 Explorer has a plug-in for converting RSR to PNG or PNG to RSR. It will convert all of the files in the selected directory. It is in the Renderosity free stuff.
Thread: sex and the Poser 5 initial installation tree | Forum: Poser Technical
I didn't realize that you could link to, and share the P4 runtime directory. I'll have to try that.
