Interesting thread. You might find it works a bit better on a model with less volume to the limbs; giving you more room to spread falloffs.
Sorry you didn't think we did a good enough job with M4. I did experiment with secondary movements via handles at first with M4 but was concerned about added complexity.
Its always a toss up between the best it can be, vs complexity for the people who have to support it. We try to make a balance, because a lot of merchants depend on it, and ultimately easier to make clothing and support items probably relate to lower prices for users.

Chris Creek modelled V1-3.
Yes, "bl" stands for Blend Zones; it means the object is ready to be rigged.
Anton did some face morphs for V3, and some breed morphs for the Mil Cat.

Third times a charm :) I do think the denigration of two programs in contrast, is pointless.. that may be biased I guess. Poser's good. D|S is good.

And 30 posts later you'll have arrived at the same place you all are right now, which is nowhere.
Everyone's time is probably better spent using one of the programs that's being argued about endlessly here. ;)

Thread: Bryce benchmarking on a AMD X2 4800 | Forum: Bryce
The renderer is not multithreaded no. It would require a change in the rendering method, because only renderers that can render 2 areas of a single image simulaneously can take advantage of multiple processors at a nearly linear progression of speed. i.e it would need to be able to break the iamge into sections or tiles, and then launch seperate threads to render two or more of those sectionstiles on seperate processors at the same time.
Thread: Aiko Realistic - - - How??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes. Although I never actually intended them to be truely "realistic". Its more of a realistic style of anime in my mind. But some people think they look actually realistic, so its all subjective really. :)
Thread: Yes you can do pretty 8 bit Photoshop displacement maps in Poser :P | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser5+ probably disables raytracing displacements because of the speed hit it causes.
Studio was set a while back to enable reflections of displacement.

Well it is an actual release, there just is no announcement in its own thread yet. It should be adding 0.9.23 to your account. I just tried it and it did so.

There is nothing wrong with your Hyperthreading, and you do not need to disable it to fully use the cpu. Hyper-Threading Technology enables multi-threaded software applications to execute threads in parallel. Kinda taking what would otherwise be wasted cycles, and turning them into a virtual cpu. HT and dual cpus are only of maximum benefit to renderers that can run two render processes simultaneously. Such as Cinema, Lightwave, Carrara, which break a single frame into multiple sections, and send each section to a seperate cpu to be rendered concurrently.

Actually, the post you are referring to was one sentence, and was never edited at all... And there is no point to further attempting to defend against an over-reaching generalization of a simple statement directed at an single individual as a suggestion as a way to get around their particular problem.

And, its not even what I said. I said you could try building the scene in D|S to get around the pz3 import problem, you seemed to be having. As I said farther up, I and many others haven't had a problem importing them.
Not to say that you aren't, just suggested that building the scene in D|S was an option. If you don't want to fine. I never said you had to do anything, and I never mentioned Poser at all.

There are some in the DAZ forum. D|S can load P4Mats to set basic settings, but the other non-P4 settings can be saved and reloaded in D|S's native material preset format.
