Awesome, thanks to those who voted. A lot of great entries too. "Ice Cream Clone" was my favorite.
Thread: Looks like DAZ Shut the Forum Down Early... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I think they have done the DAZ3D "Grand Reopening" prematurely. There are so many things messed up now that I can't make heads or tails of it. As for the forum currently being read only, I thought a forum was for discussion purposes, and users helping each other. That read only situation is not good at all. So, in order to learn more about the different software and products, I am searching for other unaffiliated forums. As an artist that is new to the digital arts, I need all the help I can get. Most of the youtube tutorials are lacking in professionalism.
Â
The new forums will be business as normal, but without the older pages. I'm sure anybody in the new forums can help you out or point you to an old thread with the info you need.

Thread: Contests That Renderosity has For Holidays/Seasons | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't worry too much about the themed aspects. There have been plenty of winning entries that have little or nothing to do with the theme - maybe some creative re-titling of the image, LOL.
Â
It's really the judging model they decide to use that matters. If it's community judging, mostly people get one vote and they tend to vote more for A: images on the first page of the contest (the earliest entries) and B: images that register strongly as thumbnails (like a face/head). If it's voting by staff, then you need to match the theme etc.
Â
So if you've got time on your hands, just do a bunch of "archetypal" holiday-appropriate images just in case you can be the first entrant.

What's the actual problem? Are all the teeth mis-mapped or just one or two?
Â
If you're working in poser it may be easiest to use the grouping tool to select the teeth and create a prop, then attach the prop teeth to the head/jaw in the heirarchy library and set them slightly bigger or in front of the old teeth and just do a universal white/silver materialon the new teeth.
Thread: OT: Postworkshop for cheap! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, deactivation requires direct web access though (I keep my work machine completely separate).
Maybe there's a second option when that fails, but it just crashes when I hit "cancel" after a few "retry" attempts (to see if there's a counter that launches the alternate method). There's obviously a hidden reference/registry entry somewhere that I need to delete manually. Likely they'll have to email it to me privately or something.

Seems to work on my web machine, but my work machine is still sticking to the "Basic" version I'd previously installed. Hit their website for a fix. There's some kind of manual install process but it's not spelled out anywhere that I can find.

Thread: Smith Micro making Cold Calls | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Yes, and I got a good deal on Morpheous :) The lady on the phone was very pleasant. I asked her alot of questions she didn't know the answers to, whens Pro coming out, is CP going to open a new forum etc. But a pleasant conversation, definitely not a pressure salesman. She can call me anytime.
I was impressed by the salespersons demenor. A stark contrast to most other companies who call to sell me something who will not take no as an answer. And I have enjoyed Poser over the years and hope it will continue, so they have my support in this trying economy. Looking forward to Poser Pro.
Wonder if it was someone in-house or they've farmed these calls out to a service/call centre. Sounds like she had a questionaire but no real info about the company or smith Micro of value.
I don't have a mobile/cell phone - why does it cost you money to receive? Because you're using a different system from the person calling you?
Cheers
Thread: Looking for a spacesuit for M4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Did M4 come with the usual "M3 Body With M4 Head" figure? If so use that and buy the M3 suits.
Learning to parent different heads to different bodies is also a skill worth learning for these sort of circumstances.
