Narsil LOL.... I could do with excercise anyhow ;) thgeisel 'leave for the weekend:-))' HeHe.. I wonder why... Thought the patch was due out end of Sept... What did you up your virtual memory to? Might wait for my new system rather than install it on this dinosaur.... (800 Amd Chip, 350meg ram and Win 98....) I have visions of my system having a nervous breakdown and laughing at me.

Poserworld is a fantastic place and very good value for money.... Only wish they did more body textures but you can't have everything.
Thread: Poser 4 rendering problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
John.. You are right in some respects about maybe it's time to update...can't disagree with that, but this guy was not even on about Poser 5. XP wasn't even out when they released Poser 4 and much of the models were written with Win98 in mind. When they started to develop Poser 5 was XP even readily available, afterall it's taken 2 years hasn't it? Remember - it's supposed to have been tested on damn site lower end machines according to the program specifications. Upgrading your ops system may work for some people but I also think updating drivers, additional memory and upating outdated hardware may help... I'm shifting to a new system with XP for running P5 with a shed load of memory, but judging by some of the posts... this may not even help.

Netherworks, you may be right about the TNT. Just know I downloaded the Gforce 2 driver which says August 2002 not (2000 oops)from the Nvidia site so it looks like they are still writing updates for my card at least.

This must be an XP issue then... Under Win 98 I updated my Nvidia Gforce 2 MMX400 with the latest driver from the Nvidia site which is August 2000 so not quite sure rodzilla where you got the idea that they are not making new drivers for older cards from.... Anyhow, it actually fixed rendering problems I was having.

Actually the video card driver really does matter. You might try updating your Graphics Driver..... Had a problem recently with rendering a tree pack.... updated the graphics driver and it fixed the problem. It was also an Nvidia card. I downloaded the Aug 2002 driver.
Thread: P5 POLL: Having problems ? What video and drivers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Still waiting for P5 at the moment but... Had a problem under P4 a few days ago rendering a single tree from the Virtual Forest pack.. Win98/ NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 / 350 meg mem / AMD Duron 850... okay I have a slower processor ;) I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers as someone suggested and the problem was fixed - perfect render. I'd had this in the past with imported 3ds and obj files but never on a purchased prop so I put it down previously to bad modelling work. Someone else in the chat room said they had experienced the same problem with the same graphics card under P4. I can only presume under P5 is going to be the same if you don't have up to date drivers. Can't wait for my new system to turn up all the same:)

My order still says processing... not had an e-mail from them either. I paid for the upgrade and an even weirder thing is in one window it says total 191 and in another window it says 169.86 Love to know what are really going to charge me because the upgrade price is 129.00.... having shipped from America direct would have been cheaper - with no VAT.

WOO WOOO!! Like to say FIXED! Afterall that **ing around LOL... it was the damn graphics driver problem. Updated the Geforce drivers and bingo - perect render in seconds. Want to say thanks to all you guys who tried to help and especially to fdisk who suggested the driver fix... Cheers all... I can get some work done at last.

Geep. Yep contacted the Vendor and not had a reply yet. Tried renaming it... Tried exporting both to '3ds' and 'obj'... then deleting the old prop and then importing. It has worked on the last tree prop only which is the most complicated one of the lot. Updating my graphics drivers to see if that works... Cheers Geep. Not having much luck here.

Geep... Your solution worked perfectly... Loaded the prop Exported as a wavefont.obj Deleted the prop Imported back in as wavefront.obj Applied the texures... BINGO..... rendered perfectly. Now the question is, what in the hell caused a Purchases set of props to do this? Do you think simply corrupt .rsr files?
Thread: Poser 4 Rendering Weirdness | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
geep Yeah, but you don't get a full sized rendered image, just whatever size you have your workspace set. I want to know why it's doing this really.
Thread: Poser 4 Rendering Weirdness | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, Yep it gets to a certain point and then 'zoom', just shows those vertical lines. No I am not scrolling in the window. It actually freezes the render.... the little animated man dies and it doesn't finish the render. Ok I have 350 meg of memory, Poser 4.03 patched and I haved rendered complicted scenes plenty of times, but this is happening on all the trees in the mini pack I have just bought and it also happens occasionally with 3ds and objs files I import. Hence I'm stuck on ideas here.... I was wondering if I needed the Pro Pack or something, but there was no mention of that when I bought the forest mini pack and I can't think of why it would happen with imported items. Help or a fix for this would be appreciated...
