I haven't got her. Don't think I'm going to. The last thing I need is yet another figure that I need to buy a wardrobe for...lol. If I get any figure, it'll be Fema Su.
And there's something about her that doesn't look right to me. Not that I'm knocking the creator (I sure as heck couldn't model it), but there's something. Her feet look enormous. But that could be just me. Having paid for another model that also has huge feet (V4 - at least the monkey toes), I'm not in the market for another one ;o).
I'm far more looking forward to Antonia than any other figure right now.

I plan on getting her in the next week or so. From talking with some of my friends that have her she gets very favorable reviews especially when it comes to the head morphs and how well she takes expression far better than V4.

She's looks a bit interesting but her face seems off to me. I am debating about getting her. She is a bit pricey, even on sale.
I too am looking forward to Antonia, who seems to have a more natural base face.

Laurie: I'm not too worried about the wardrobe, as the CrossDresser plugin is already available and costs less than $6. I've got dozens of V4 outfits that would serve just fine, I'm sure.
Antonia really is a great base, I'll agree on that. I think I like her default face better, too.

I will also picking up that XD plugin for her as well. I think she has possibilities and another tool on my bag of goodies doesn't hurt. She is unique, different and not another knock off that has been done a million times over.

Love her body. Got the ultimate morphs too. I'm not an old pro so I probably don't all kinds of
different things to look for like you guys, but she poses great and renders beautifully.
I'm happy. Attractive out of the box as well, imo. But like I said, I have the morphs too
so I've been playing around. I am definitely not disappointed in any way.
Oh. And I think Laurie mentioned her feet look enormous? I think it's actually her big toes
that are large. That's okay with me. :) LOL.

It's a PITA fitting hair though, you know. But "Shadow Commander" is supposed to be
released next week. Eva outfit with hair.Â

I bougth the model yesterday (its saturday morning in sweden now) , my first impression is that the it isnt finnished yet.
Its a great looking model but there are small stuff present that i cant understand how it got past the beta stage.

Mesh-wise, IÂ prefer V4. Eve's face is a disaster. Her body looks good, although a bit too dense.
On the other hand, if the rigging is good and she bends naturally, she could be a serious contender. More so if RDNA &Â co came up with an idiot-proof expression rig. Some strong competition for DAZ in the "idealized young female"Â sector would definitely help innovation on the Poser figure front, so I'll be rooting for the new girl.

She seems very nice and well done, but she's a bit too pricey for me. I'm not too worried about clothes, but adding up the new hair and morphs needed, she's out of reach for my budget.

 I like her a lot.  However, I can't justify her right now :(  She's on my wishlist, but I'm not allowing myself to buy anything else until I start actually rendering what I HAVE bought.  She's definitely on my wishlist, and I like what folks have done with her so far.

Well, I have CrossDresser, so it's not like IÂ couldn't make things fit her if I wanted. But in this economic climate, IÂ can't justify another figure ;o). Not when I don't use the ones I have already...lol. I have other things on my wishlist, mainly software that I'll get before I get another figure or clothing item. So, it's not just Eva - it's all figures that I'll be shunning for the next few months ;o).

I purchased her and the head morphs , nice body but sad about that head ,
Face is to sharp/angular , eyes too small and her ears are too flat against the side of her head  :(
I for one am very disappointed , the one good thing is she has a hot body and genitals with morph .

IÂ was just pulling your leg, I fully understand the need to conserve cash for the essentials as I've been doing it for years with the odd lapse here & there (poser8), it's a real shame though as she does look like one heck of a figure.

Here's what I came up with, Daz V4 hair fit good with very minor adjustment and I don't think she looks like a man at all :)Â Click for full size.
She's a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned and with PhilC's support and Crossdresser, I plan on converting some clothing tonight :)
She's definately in my runtime to stay :)

Well with a mesh as dense as that Eva figure has, particularly in the face, there's probably no limit to what kind of face shapes one could come up with, with either Poser's magnets and morph putty or a good modeling program.
I was just messing around, really. I just think the promo pics don't do the figure justice for that face at least. The body is quite obviously very female.
A agree about the big feet though, and there are body parts, such as the hands and feet, that have way too much geometry. It's like it was just subdivided with no concern to practical polygon count.
On second thought, it kind of looks like it was scanned, but then the body polygon count was reduced to keep it from going completely through the roof, while the face, hands and feet were left as-is and just stitched on.
Either that, or just the hands, feet and face were scanned and attached to a modeled body.

That face started to look a lot like Rhona Mitra as I was working with the original sculpt. I kept going with that look. 3D can be a funny thing is these programs we use. Rotate it one way and it looks beautiful, light it another and change the perspective and it looks horrible.Â
I tried very hard to pick model photographs to model against. You should have seen how big her hands were before, and this was modelled directly off a picture of a super hottie. So all that went out the window. I ended up just doing what seemed to look aesthetically pleasing. And I guess the conclusion was, she's going to look like a comic book figure.
So much can change with a texture. So much can change with a minor bit of morphing. I think just about any taste could be achieved with Eva but there was no way to please everyone from the get go.

See, what struck me about Eva first was how much she had that look of a runway model. The angular face, the proportion of the hands and feet to the rest of the body....and that is really what she reminds me of. She doesn't look ideal, she looks like someone I might actually see on the street, or walking down the runway during Fashion Week in NY.Â
I'm very, very hard to please. I'm a print artist, I also do bookcovers and all of that good stuff. I got to play a little last night and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. She seemed to work with me instead of against me. It took very little effort to change her looks, she's a chameleon. I don't think anyone could compare her out of the box against my morph of her and know that they both started at the same place. To me, that is one of the highest complements I can pay to a figure maker. Â
I'll use her as she comes as well, the face is strong, with lots of character..as if there is already a story there.Â
To each his own, he couldn't please everyone, but I'm going to say "thank you for your time and hard work"....and be selfish here and say
"But I'm glad he pleased me"

I wish I did have access to a scanner like MikeJ mentioned. From what I understand about the 3D scanners is they can scan a perfect replica of something but the mesh is a scrambled mess of spiderweb triangles. Even in the big movie effect houses they have to rebuild what they scan.

Yeah, I remember Diana from "that other place" and what a disaster it was, and the high poly count of your Eva reminded me of that.
Don't get me wrong though - I think you've turned out an excellent piece of modeling there. I just don't like the default face, although as I said, it looks highly morphable.
I'm just curious why you have so many polygons in the hands and feet, in parts that won't benefit much from such a high poly count?
Of course, having that many polys could be a benefit for displacement mapping, for sure, or for morphing non-human details into those parts (such as spikes and so on) so if that was your intent, it makes sense.
I'll probably buy the figure though. I too believe in supporting the underdogs, and I'd love to do some sculpting on that mesh.
It's really not all too high of a mesh in the hands. You are right though, it could have been probably obtomized better around the bend areas. Up close though, it doesn't seem all that high and it does hold a texture well.

115k polys is still very moderate for Poser, it doesn't effect load time at all
I've seen some figures load up that are 4x that resolution and still load fast.
and I've got a pretty old and slow machine.
I've been working in a cave for months. I had no idea you guys were working on figure(s) too.
I put together about a dozen varied figures this year, but none of them receive the kind of dogma that comes with the human female. Eva probably took about 9 months time (gestation?) but that was a very hard, condensed, 9 let me tell ya. I'm sure it could have been worked on for 9 more but there comes a time when you just have to say "done" ya know?

I think you mean DSI's 'Dina V.' They scanned a female body builder and it went downhill from there. She did make a good roadhouse waitress type, in a gritty, Tobacco Road kind of way :-)Â

I've been wanting Fema Su for months. What a unique figure :o). As soon as I get all the funds together (after the software I need is out of the way) I'll be heading over to get her ;o).
It's really hard for me to knock anyone that models because, well, IÂ can't...lol. I know what it's like for me to do even the simplest of things. Coming from a long 2D graphic arts background, I can honestly say that 3D modeling is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to learn. It would be easier if I had something to put my hands on, like a lump of clay. That I can do ;o). But for the fact that 3D modeling seems so difficult for me, I admire those that can do it (and I'm not even going to go into rigging!...lol).
You were right that you can't please everyone and the fact remains that if things were different and I had all the money IÂ wanted to buy stuff like I did a few years ago, she'd prolly be in my runtime, if for no other reason than to morph her...lol. Seems lately I'm more interested in making morphs than I am actually creating renders...hehe. But unfortunately I'm forced to be really choosy these days. But I do love to support the non-Daz figure creators. I think we need many more of those, so keep up the good work :o).
Oh, and it's funny you should mention something about the hands. My father is a dollmaker and there are always problems with the hands and feet. Seems that if you try and model them to scale, they look too large for some reason. If I remember correctly, I believe he told me that he has to scale them back on average between 5% and 15% before they begin to look right. Seems the problem translates over to 3D modeling as well...lol.

Nah, Eva's shoulder's look worlds better than Dina's did...lol ;o).
What I did notice now with milanautica's image is that there is too much length between the bottom of the ball of the calf muscle and the ankle.
With Antonia, odf is putting Antonia out there (brave man) and showing what he's done so that he can get feedback like that and therefore make changes. Antonia had all sorts of small little things things that didn't look quite right, but wow, what progress he's made.
Maybe all figure makers should go thru this process..lolol.

They don't look right to me either. :)
It is normal for Poser. They have a Jcm applied to them.
That jcm cannot be too extreme to fix it perfectly because of multiple angles of bend.

I can understand that statement, possibly the figures large feet are contributing to this effect some (???).
What I don't like about most figures (and like about this one) is the calf being defined. Most figures blur that area you are talking about making it a smooth angle. Athletic gals have defined calfs and that area is more sharply defined, like this one. Granted this figure is a cross of genres and what you are talking about is a figure that is a runway model and not a fit chick.
Chris if you do adjust this keep this as a morph or morph into another version, but don't junk it.

No, IÂ don't think the feet are contributing. I honestly think that area is too long. In fact, the legs are too long, but I know what Poserites like and it's the long (rather inhuman I might add) looking legs. It's not like the artist isn't giving ppl what they want. He's given them exactly what they want...lol. He'll sell a bunch I bet, and I don't blame him or fault him for that ;o). But what I'd love to see (and am longing for) is a figure that is proportionally correct. Not to keep blowing Antonia's horn, but she's the closest that I've seen anyone come.
If I'm really going to nitpick, I think that most figures you see today have legs that are much, much too long, torsos too short and heads too small (I'm including Daz in all of this - I actually think V4 is a step backward from V3). I like my stylized figures, don't get me wrong, but when it's actually difficult to get one that doesn't equate to over 7 feet tall, then I feel like I don't have many choices ;o).
It's not like I don't know what I'm looking at: I studied figure drawing and most proportions fall between 7 to 7.5 heads high for the normal average human. Most people get the legs wrong...it seems to be the one area where folks make the most mistakes in length (Antonia included...when I set her up for my own runtime IÂ shorten both the thigh and the calf). I don't fault anyone, it's just something I notice with modeled figures.

Most proportions do yes. Personally she reminds me of some of the runway models I used to know.
I'm a small person 5'1" but I have long legs, my inseam is 31....so you'd probably think my legs look abnormal too LOL!!! Because of my long legs (and my torso isn't short either) I was able to actually do petite runway modeling for some time.Â
I think if they were exactly the same length that would look odd for me, but I like the difference.
