I saw that MrDodobird(Ian Hubert) is making movies using Blender, he's featured as an artist in thier official trailers. I miss the what once was an awesome forum here......I loved that creative feel before this site kind of died. 911, and the economy really hit the non professional artist community hard.

Infact, i went back to my roots and did illustration for some time...then a few days ago longed for some good ol 3d'ing. I stopped doing 3d when all the apps I liked started to rocket past the 1000$ and up price range. So I googled free 3d apps and saw that blender had come quite a way ... then I saw Ian and his artwork( I know that style anywhere). I just had to download it at that point. Happy holidays, I still come and check out everyones new art work from time to time. I just lurk in the shadows now.

Man, remember the late 90's when bryce was still not so bad at render speed compared to others? Is bryce still the "gateway drug" to the 3d world?

Unless your work is pro quality, how could you expect a rating of 5...or do people just give a 5 to anyone who is better than them, even if it's not that good? I rate on skill alone, that way, even if its a subject I don't like thier actual talent is still obvious and rate-able.

hey have found that during the spring/summer season, rivers DO flow. It appears that there is a quite large amount of water just below the surface. But we could never be sure before, basicly because we didn't take enough pictures for a long enough time to see it happen. They now have pictures of it, and reported on it in a scientific mag a few months ago. But the rivers are not constant...more like a snowmelt off of the mountains, here on earth. But, if there is water..

"a character blending tool" - explain that, please? OK, they showed a demo avi movie of it in action.Basicly they had a Mil boy walking, as he walked he "grew" into the freak model walking. Basicly, think of a shape shifter....thats what you will be able to do with all the DAZ Figs(supposedly).

They said the render engine in bryce 6 is pretty much the same, but dualcore and hyperthread users will get speed-ups.However, bryce 7 or 8 will have the carrara render tech under the hood, as they want to bring all the coding of there apps closer together.

and Flak were wondering where you were? You did't miss too much though, most of the stuff was about the new V4, a character blending tool, and then a rehash on what they already talked about. The free bryce 5 was a nice suprise, but I already have it so......I wonder if I can give it to somebody? But at least it was confirmed that carraras render will be ported over in versio

went to the chat, nothing that we didn't already know about bryce really. I didn't win Carrara, but everyone that was there got a free bryce 5, and 5.5 coupon...or something(it will show up in the participants accounts). But Dan Farr did say that they are trying to bring the coding of all thier apps closer. They mentioned moving Carraras render tech over to bryce(which was being speculated about beforehand
