Me too - got ProPack for WW (haven't had time to explore P6). Haven't tried WW yet, I need a big block of quiet time to learn. The Yahoo group - very helpful.

First thing I learned in Poser was to set my Window to load without any character. I deleted the default Dork (kept my lights and background/foreground, etc) and set the preferred state. It's nice to have an empty window to start with.

I posted an image in the Vue gallery and after looking at it I knew it was terrible. So I asked for help on it. Sure, I could have deleted it, but I wouldn't learn anything either. Some of the comments stung, but they also had lots of ideas to make it better. I took in all the comments and redid the scene. To me it was 100 times better and I learned a lot. These people took the time to write out what I should change and I am grateful now that they did.

It might be the character model 'Russell' who has hair on the texture. Russell is in the Marketplace.

Thanks for the tips! I completely overlooked the 'smoothing' option on the door. The inside of the house has windows on the back wall - that is what you can see through the front window. I thought about putting white planes in front of them, but thought it would look odd. I went through all my atmospheres, and many of them gave the house such a dark cast. The atmosphere I chose reminded me of 'broken skies' where there are rain clouds and the sun pokes through very bright. I was worried that shadows would conceal all the garden plants that I took so long to place correctly. I'm not an artist - more of a 'director', directing other peoples models around. I learned so much from this scene - thanks to people like you.

Thank all of you for your help :-) I've been working and reworking the scene all day. To be honest its not that much better :-( I think the exterior needs a completely different texture... I tried 40 different atmospheres, and changed the point of view. Pulled back and up. Still not satisfied. Added 25 trees. Added rocks at the base of the terrain. I'm on a final render right now - maybe I will post a small render of it here later. For your feedback.
