I always rescale my imported object by hand... I dont use any fix values or scales - I normally try to compare figures with known objects (Doors, Windows, cars, and so on) to get a proper scaling... Normally even my own models dont fit together - I gotta rescale them to fit my own scenes...

Yeah, thats a good point... And for glasses I would also try out the transparency and reflection sliders - by playing with these you can adjust the material so its looking more realistic, depending on what kind of glas you want to simulate... Never forget the proper lighting - THAT will make your glas look real...

Yeah - It IS possible... Just make two scenes out of the animation - save the first 15 frames lets say as "animation1.vue" and the second as "animation2.vue". Then use the Vue batch renderer (is included in your standard install) to first render the animation 1 and then animation 2... While Vues rendering, you go to sleep... :-) OK, I must confess I only used it for stills, but Im sure it also works for animations...

I hope the update will solve the problem... When I talked about size I meant the file size. If your original poser file has got lets say 30 MB of size, then Im pretty sure youll get Problems in Vue... I also got the Problem, when I import Poser figures into vue theyre either large as a house or small as an ant... I normally always gotta rescale them - dont know why... If resizing the textures doesnt work then I got no idea... It may be a simple checkbox or value, but from here Im not sure I can solve the problem... If youre from Frankfurt/Germany let me know and Ill visit you after work, but I dont suppose so ;-) Regards Stefan

Ive thought again about it and also visited the site... Ive never tested any of their products, but on the website they look very nice... When I look at the pic again, the other weird thing I notice is behind the left eye is a round sphere... Im pretty sure its the eyeball we see there - so that could be a clue that its a problem with transparencies... Does the woman render properly when you render her in Poser? If yes, then the import into Vue could be the problem... I cant remember right, but I think Vue has problems with very large files, so maybe reducing the texture/map or model could help somehow... (?) What Version of Vue are you using? The 4.2 is already released as a beta and it seems to address some problems with poser imports... Maybe youll want to try it out (be sure to backup your vue...) Are the IW textures very large? I hope that helps a bit... Regards Stefan

That could be, it applies if you set a value/color there... Good point on that, but I still recommend rendering the whole in a proper interior scene with proper lighting and the chair will strike...

It also depends a LOT on the light, in interior scenes, you should turn ambient light off and work with pointlights - you can use these even in visible areas if you turn off Halo or use lamps or so... Use at least 3 lights, one as the "highlight" near the object and set your highlight with it. Use 2 other lights (spots are great) without shadows and softness about 5 to 10... Youll see the glass looks great... I cant remember who, but someone has posted a tut about that in vue here...

I think the blue area is your sky reflecting in the glass... To see how good its really looking you should put it in a textured interior scene and youll get a better idea how the glas behaves... The floor and sky are too simple - you cant see how the glas is breaking light and reflections look just "blue"...

Good tutorial... I havent tried it yet, but I believe it works better on a "ground" terrain, than on my endless plane I normally use for the ground... Has anyone tried applying it to the ground plane?

Hmm, I always did this by "grouping" the object... Cant you select the body parts in the world browser anymore if you selected this?

Ive never seen this before... Im sure it has something to do with your new IW plane... I may be too tired, but at the moment I cant figure out what IW means... ;-) The image looks scary somehow - its like two skin textures are mixed up... Hope you get it fixed :-) Stefan
